10 Most Expensive Cars of 2018

2018

For some people, money truly is no object. These are the lucky ones who can throw millions away and yet it still won’t make much of a dent in their assets. Many of these enviable individuals are car collectors and aficionados. So what do you do if you’re a serious car lover and you have all the money in the world? Why, buy one (if not all) of the most expensive models out there, of course! Take a look at the 10 most expensive cars in the world this year.
  1. Bugatti Chiron – $2.7 million

Bugatti’s heir to the Veyron hypercar is touted as the ‘world’s most powerful, fastest, most luxurious and most exclusive production super sports car’ by its maker. The car is the result of Volkswagen chairman Ferdinand Piëch’s demand that Bugatti build the fastest cars ever produced.
  1. Pagani Huayra BC – $2.8 million

The Huayra BC is the most expensive car built by Pagani, a renowned Italian supercar manufacturer. This car is meant to be a tribute to Benny Caiola (the name representing the initials at the end), an Italian car collector who owns more than a few Ferraris and is a very close friend of Horacio Pagani.
  1. Ferrari Pininfarina Sergio – $3 million

Crafted in memory of Battista Pininfarina’s deceased son, only six of these cars have been made. The Pininfarina Sergio is based on the Ferrari 458 Spider, and is considered as one of the priciest Ferraris on sale today.
  1. Aston Martin Valkyrie – $3.2 million

Designed in partnership with Red Bull Racing, this road-ready speedster rides on a mid-mounted V12 engine secured to a lightweight carbon fiber platform. The driver and passenger sit in a position that mimics that of a Formula One racer.
  1. Limited Edition Bugatti Veyron by Masory Vivere – $3.4 million

Modelled after the Grand Sport Vitesse Roadster, this German marque–which has been updated only four times since it was first launched in 2005, boasts of a sleekly lacquered carbon fiber body along with equally stunning diffusers, side scoops, and LED lights.
  1. Lykan HyperSport – $3.4 million

Once you learn that over 600 15-carat diamonds adorn the headlights and LED blades of this Lebanese limited production supercar, the price tag isn’t at all surprising. If you’ve seen ‘Furious 7,’ this is the car that Vin Diesel and Paul Walker drove off skyscrapers on.
  1. McLaren P1 LM – $3.6 million

It’s a McLaren, and it’s not. As the street-legal version of the trackstar McLaren P1 GTR, the car is a conversion done by Lanzante Limited, a British automotive company that restores and updates cars that spark its interest.
  1. Lamborghini Veneno Roadster – $4.5 million

‘Veneno’ is the Spanish word for poison, an apt word to describe the car’s deadly looks. The carbon fiber monocoque body is heavily inspired by another Lamborghini model, the LP700-4 Aventador.
  1. Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita – $4.8 million

Like the Lykan, the Koenigsegg CCXR Trevita is riddled with genuine diamonds. But this time around, it’s the carbon fiber body that’s coated with diamond-dust infused resin, transforming the fibers appearance from black to a shimmering white surface. Dubbed the Koenigsegg Proprietary Diamond Weave, the car’s paint job is what makes its design unique.
  1. Sweptail by Rolls Royce – $13 million

Before you whip out your checkbook, know that this car is a one-off, built for a specific individual whose name the British luxury make refused to divulge. What merits the price, you may ask? For starters, the car has custom coachwork that recalls the elegant carriages from the Victorian era. There’s also the panoramic sunroof, handcrafted wood and leather attache cases behind each door, and a design inspired by the brand’s most popular models from the 1920s and 30s.
