The engine of a giant ship broke down, so the owners of the ship called for help from all the experts present.
They looked for fault but in vain.
Neither of them figured out how to fix that engine. After much effort, they found an old man who's been repairing ships since he was young. He had a big tool bag with him.
Upon his arrival, he began working.
Check your engine closely, top to bottom.
Two of the ship's owners watched with excitement and anticipation, hoping the old man would find out what caused the failure and then fix it.
Minutes later, he finished the exam, then went into his bag and pulled out a small hammer and gently slammed part of the engine effortlessly.
Immediately the motor started and he put the hammer back in the bag.
The old man said, Engine is fixed!
A week later, the owners got the old man repair bill.
That was ten thousand dollars!
But the owners of the ship were shocked and said , "Impossible, he did almost nothing."
Then they wrote the old man a note saying, "Please send us a detailed invoice for work.'
The man sent the bill as follows:
Hitting with the hammer ........ $1 *
Knows where to tap .......... $ 9,999 *
It's knowledge and skill, not effort!
Effort is important, but knowing where and when to make an effort in your life makes all the difference.
