Daily Manna from God

Spiritual growth does not happen by accident. You do not wake up one day close to God without ever seeking him.

Just as your body needs daily food, your spirit needs daily time in the presence of the Lord.

God has designed you in such a way that your heart only finds true life when you keep coming back to him day after day.

The Bible shows us this pattern very clearly in the prayer that Jesus taught his disciples. He said in Matthew 6  verse 11, "Give us this day our daily bread."

Jesus Christ did not teach us to pray for a yearly supply or even a monthly supply.

He taught us to ask for what we need today. This is not only about physical food.

It is about daily dependence.

It is a reminder that you are meant to come to God again and again. Not just when you are desperate,   but as a way of life.

In our modern world, many of us can buy and store food for weeks.

In our modern world, many of us can buy and store food for weeks.

We have fridges, markets, and plans.

We can easily begin to feel that we are in control.

But the people who first heard Jesus did not live like that.

Many of them lived from one day to the next,   trusting that there Would be enough for that day.

Their ears understood the weight of the words daily bread in a very real way.

God had already shown this daily pattern to his people in the wilderness.

When the children of Israel were traveling through the desert, they were hungry and in need.

God could have given them a whole storehouse of food at once, but he chose a different way.

In Exodus 16:4, it says, "Then the Lord said to Moses, I will rain down bread from heaven for you."

The people are to go out each day and gather enough for that day.

The manna did not fall once a month or once a week. It fell every morning.

If they tried to store more than they needed, it spoiled.  Why did God do this?

He was teaching them to look to him every single day. He was not only feeding their bodies. He was training their hearts to trust Him.

In the same way, God gives you what you need for today. God gives strength for today, grace for today, wisdom for today.

You may feel frustrated that you do not see everything about your future.

But God is inviting you to walk with him one step at a time. You do not need tomorrow's strength yet.

You need today's strength now.

The Bible reminds you in Lamentations 3:verses 22 to 23.

The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases. His mercies never come to an end. They are new every morning.

Great is your faithfulness.

God does not give you old mercy. He gives you new mercy each morning.

Every day you wake up, there is fresh mercy waiting for you. That is why it is so important to seek him daily.

When you come to Him in the morning, you are coming to the God who is ready to refresh your soul again.

Jesus also teaches you how to think about tomorrow.

In Matthew 6:34, he says, "Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own.

You are not called to carry tomorrow's worries today.

You are called to trust God with the unknown future and focus on walking with him in this present moment.

Worry looks ahead and imagines life without God.

Faith looks at today and remembers that God is here.

There is a hunger in your heart that nothing in this world can satisfy.

Work cannot fill it.

Entertainment cannot fill it.

HeyEven good relationships cannot fill it.

Only God can satisfy that thirst. And he does it as you keep coming to him.

Many Christians feel stuck in their spiritual life because they seek God occasionally but not consistently. The difference between consistently and occasionally is that consistently is in a consistent manner while occasionally is from time to time; now and then; once in a while; irregularly; at infrequent intervals.

They try to live on yesterday's manna and yesterday's prayers.

But yesterday's grace was for yesterday's battles. Today has its own challenges, temptations, and opportunities.

That is why you need fresh time in the word,  fresh time in prayer, fresh surrender of your heart.

You do not need hours and hours every single day to impress God.

What He desires is a sincere heart that makes room for Him.

Open God's Bible. Read.

Talk to Him honestly.

Thank Him.

Ask Him for guidance.

Confess your sins.

Listen to His word. And let it correct and comfort you.

Now let's take a moment to pray together.

Lord Jesus, you are the one who defends me and fights for me.

Your word says in Psalm 18:2,  "The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold. So I thank you, King Jesus, for being my rock and my pillar.

Thank you for being my rescue in this broken and troubled world. When I feel overwhelmed, you lift me up.

When I feel weak, you carry me. When l am surrounded by uncertainty, you remain my solid ground.

Lord, I choose to rejoice in you.

Your word says in 1 Thessalonians 5 16 to18,

"Rejoice always. Pray without ceasing. Give thanks in all circumstances.

For this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you.

So I set my heart to praise you even in the middle of confusion and difficulty.
