Nothing Ever Works…
If you found this page, it’s probably because you purchased the book, “The Tapping Solution: A Revolutionary System for Stress-Free Living.” If that’s the case, you’re here for an extended tapping session to help you deal with the nagging feeling that you’ve never been able to reach any of the goals you’ve set for yourself in your life thus far.Tapping varies for everyone: some people just need to do a few rounds to clear the negative emotions that have them all wound up; others need a few more rounds. Whichever the case is for you, it’s always great to go deeper and longer. As you do, take note of any unexpected thoughts or feelings that arise. These can often be used to help you clear your negative attachment to incidents or emotions buried in your unconscious mind that may have been tripping you up without you even knowing it! You’ll also find many more extended tapping sessions here .
As I outlined in the book, it’s always good to get started with a “check-in” phrase to determine if this issue is something you need to work on.
For example, this script’s check-in phrase is I’m frustrated because nothing ever works for me.
Go ahead and say that out loud a few times, and then rate how true it is on the 0-to-10 scale, with 10 being “absolutely true” and 0 being “not at all true.”
Generally speaking, if your truth level is a 5 or more, it’s probably an issue you want to work on right away.
Remember, these are general phrases and ideas to get you started. If different language fits better for you, or if other ideas come up, feel free to follow your intuition.
Karate Chop: Even though I’m frustrated because nothing ever works for me, I deeply and completely accept myself.
Karate chop: Even though I have a tendency to start something and not finish it, I deeply love and accept myself.
Karate Chop: Even though I’m anxious because nothing seems to work for me, I choose to relax now.
Eyebrow: Nothing ever works . . .
Side of Eye: All this frustration . . .
Under Eye: I’m frustrated because nothing works for me . . .
Under Nose: I’ve tried so many different things . . .
Chin: And nothing ever works . . .
Collarbone: This probably won’t work . . .
Under Arm: This probably won’t work for me . . .
Top of Head: All this frustration . . .
Eyebrow: Nothing ever works . . .
Side of Eye: I start things and don’t finish them . . .
Under Eye: I’m anxious to try anything else . . .
Under Nose: Because I have so many experiences of things not working . . .
Chin: It works for other people . . .
Collarbone: But not for me . . .
Under Arm: All this frustration . . .
Top of Head: All this anxiety and frustration . . .
Take a deep breath and check in with yourself. How are you feeling? Rate your feeling on the 0 to 10 scale. Return to the eyebrow:
Eyebrow: I’m going nowhere…
Side of Eye: I feel as if I’m always stuck in the same place…
Under Eye: My life is stuck on repeat…
Under Nose: I never accomplish anything…
Chin: What a waste of time…
Collarbone: I don’t know what’s wrong…
Under Arm: I’m just so undisciplined…
Top of Head: I don’t have what it takes…
Eyebrow: I’m never going to figure this out…
Side of Eye: My life is a joke…
Under Eye: I’m not going to amount to anything special…
Under Nose: I don’t have anything to offer to the world…
Chin: I should just stop trying…
Collarbone: I’m hopeless…
Under Arm: I’m just so undisciplined…
Top of Head: I don’t have what it takes…
Breathe deeply and take stock of your emotions again. Are you feeling even slightly better? How does your feeling rank on the scale from 1 to 10? Return to your eyebrow point:
Eyebrow: What am I doing?
Side of Eye: Am I ever going to finish anything?
Under Eye: I’m just a wreck…
Under Nose: I’m so flaky….
Chin: No one can depend on me; I can’t even depend on myself…
Collarbone: I’m so undisciplined…
Under Arm: I just can’t focus…
Top of Head: I’m never going to finish anything.
Once you’re feeling considerably better, you’re ready to move on to the positive rounds. This will help you to replace those negative feelings you’ve just dislodged with positive affirmations – the way you want to feel and what your higher self knows to be true.
Remember, you want this to be a natural progression. If at any time during the positive round your mind says, “I don’t believe you!” or, “that’s not true!” then you probably need to go back to the negative beliefs until they clear.
Eyebrow: I choose to be open to the possibility this can work . . .
Side of Eye: I choose to release any frustration in my body . . .
Under Eye: Things have worked for me before . . .
Under Nose: I have made lots of positive changes . . .
Chin: And I choose to make more . . .
Collarbone: I choose to believe in my ability to change . . .
Under Arm: I choose to release any frustration or anxiety in my body . . .
Top of Head: Letting it go . . . letting it all go.
Eyebrow: I can feel my body relaxing…
Side of Eye: My frustration is slipping away…
Under Eye: My anxiety is dissolving…
Under Nose: These feelings are what have been in my way…
Chin: I can finish whatever I set my mind to…
Collarbone: I can reach my personal goals…
Under Arm: I can feel it…
Top of Head: I’m letting go of all of the negative blockages
Eyebrow: All of my limiting beliefs are disappearing…
Side of Eye: I have room to breathe…
Under Eye: I have room to create…
Under Nose: I have the space I need to get the job done…
Chin: And it’s all inside of me…
Collarbone: I feel so free…
Under Arm: I feel so empowered…
Top of Head: I’m ready.
Take a deep breath . . . and let it go.
