I'm a Registered Nurse and in nursing school we learned the correct method that is simple, and customized for everyone to calculate daily hydration requirements. This promotes optimal bodily functions including digestion, blood flow, oxygenation, and kidney function to name a few.
1. Take your body weight in kg (weight divided by 2.2 = weight in kg)
2. Multiply weight in kg by 0.5 (This is number of milliliters needed hourly, so multiply it by 24 hours in the day for total daily intake)
Example: 250 lb/2.2 = 113 kg x 0.5 = 56.5 ml x 24 = 1356 ml per day.
* A 12 ounce bottle of water 355 ml. So about 4 bottles/glasses a day for a person 250 pounds! *
