EXERCISE 12 - The Balancing Breath

Balance and polarity
Having gained insight into the balancing factors in your relationship with the Sun and Moon, you can look at the balance of your inner polarity with greater understanding. The symmetry of our bodies tells us about balance.  Balance is about 'making the two one'. We know that balance is essential to harmony, including the harmony of well-being. Optimal breathing is a balance of inhalation and exhalation and the pauses between these processes. At a subtle energetic level, optimal breathing also brings about a balance between the two energetic polarities of our body. We all experience the imbalance caused by emotional upset or the pressures of stress and we instinctively feel the need to return to a balanced state as soon as possible. The next exercise 12 is designed to quickly achieve polarity balance in such situations. It is also an excellent exercise when you feel overwrought or panicky.
