Welcome to where we explore the truths of God's word and discover the realities of the new creation in Christ. Get ready to grow in revelation knowledge and discover who you truly are in Christ Jesus. It is Sunday. The message lands. You write down the verse. You say 'amen' out loud. You walk out of that building certain that something has shifted. By Wednesday, the real pressure arrives. The call comes. The number on the screen is lower than you hoped. The conversation you were dreading finally happens and the verse is somewhere in your notes. While the fear is somewhere in your chest. What happened?
Nothing was wrong with the verse. Nothing was wrong with your sincerity. The word was received. But it never moved. It stayed in the head where it could be agreed with, quoted, and admired, but where it could not govern.
Jesus described exactly this. Mark 4:16-17.
These are they likewise which are sown on stony ground, who when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness, and have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time. Afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.
Gladness received but no root, not no joy, not no sincerity, no root. That is Sunday to Wednesday in a single verse. That gap has an answer and I want to show it to you today in a way you can use tomorrow morning.
I identified this gap in the hidden man. I wrote that faith is a product of your spirit and that it is developed in the human spirit by the word of God as we act on it.
Notice where he places it, not in the intellect. In the spirit, apostle Paul describes the same root.
Romans 10: 8-10. The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
From the mouth to the heart, from speaking to believing.
And Proverbs 23:7 tells you why this matters so much.
For as he thinks in his heart, so is he, not as he thinks in his head, in his heart.
Luke 6:45 says it from the other direction. For of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
When the pressure comes, what comes out is not what is in your notes. It is what is in your heart.
Now look at how Jesus Christ met pressure. Matthew 4. In the wilderness, three times the enemy came and three times he answered with the same words.
It is written. It is written. It is written.
Here is what I want you to notice. There is no record of him reaching for a scroll. The word was not in his notes.
It was already in him.
So the question is not whether you believe the word. The question is where the word lives. If it lives in your head, it will inform you. If it lives in your spirit, it will govern you. How do you know where yours lives?
Three signs.
One, you can quote the verse, but it does not comfort you when you need it.
Two, it works when life is calm and fails when life gets loud.
Three, you agree with it completely and your decisions do not change.
If you recognize yourself in even one of those, nothing is wrong with you. You are simply a believer whose word has not yet been given time to put down roots. Moving the word from one place to the other is not a mystery. It is not a gift reserved for a few. It is a daily rhythm.
Today I am going to lay out that rhythm. Not one isolated devotional. A full 24 hours. One verse received in the morning carried through the day and sealed at night.
I wrote that you can develop spirit life until you dominate circumstances. And notice I did not say in a single night.
I meant the accumulation of days, ordinary days, repeated days.
Chapter 2: Mark.17
By the end of this teaching, you will have a 24-hour rhythm, a 7-day pattern, a 21-day pattern, and four signs that tell you the word is moving. There are three movements. Two of them will not surprise you. The third almost always does because it happens at the one time of day most of us treat as wasted and somewhere in the first movement there is a single step where the transfer actually begins. Many people skip it. I will tell you when we get there but tell you and it does not require a retreat. I spoke of 10 or 15 minutes. We will come to that. This teaching is anchored in the hidden man and new creation realities together with the word of God.
But before the routine, we have to answer a simple question. If the word is so powerful, why does reading it once even with all your heart not do the job? The answer is in the kind of food God chose to compare it to and that is next. Think about bread. God could have chosen any picture for his word. A hammer, a mirror, a lamp, he used all of those. But when Jesus spoke of what sustains a human being, he chose bread.
Matthew 4:4. Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.
Bread. And bread does not work the way information works. You can learn a fact once and keep it. But you cannot eat once and be nourished for life. Bread is eaten daily. It is taken in, broken down, and made part of you.
I used this same picture when I teach that the word is the food of the spirit. A spirit that is fed occasionally is a spirit that is weak most of the time.
But there is a story behind that verse that explains something we rarely notice. Jesus was quoting Deuteronomy 8:3. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceeded out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live. Manna.
The whole wilderness was a lesson, and it was a lesson about how the word works. Now, notice something strange about manna.
Exodus 16:19-21. And Moses said, "Let no man leave of it till the morning. Not withstanding, they hearkened not unto Moses." But some of them left of it until the morning, and it bred worms, and stank, and they gathered it every morning, every man according to his eating. And when the sun waxed hot, it melted.
Why would God give food that could not be stored? He could have given them a month's supply in one morning. Why a fresh portion every single day? Because he was not only feeding their stomachs. He was teaching them how to live from him daily. Not from a stockpile of yesterday's blessing, but from a fresh meeting with him each morning.
Lamentations 3:23 says of his mercies, they are new every morning. Great is thy faithfulness. And that is why a single reading, however sincere, cannot do the job. Not because the word is weak, because the way God designed the inner man to take in food is daily.
Matthew 6:11, "Give us this day our daily bread."
John 6:63 gives the other half. It is the spirit that quicken. The flesh profiteth nothing. The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.
The words are spirit. They are not merely instruction. They carry life. And that life is meant to be received by your spirit, not just filed by your mind.
James 1:21 gives another picture. Receive with meekness the engrafted word which is able to save your souls. Engrafted, that is a gardening word. A graft is not a decoration attached to the surface. A graft is a living branch joined into a living tree until the two grow as one. The word is meant to be joined into you.
And verses 23 and 24 warn what happens when it is not. He is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass. For he beholdeth himself and goeth his way and straightway forget what manner of man he was.
He saw the truth and the truth did not stay. That is the head without the spirit. Seeing the truth is not the same as receiving it.
Hebrews 4:12 describes what the word does once it goes deep enough. For the word of God is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit.
It reaches the place where soul and spirit meet. It is designed to travel that far. But it does not travel there by accident. It needs a route and a rhythm.
So what to do in the hidden man? Here is a practical instruction. Take 10 or 15 minutes daily for meditation and shut yourself in alone with your own spirit where the clamor of the world is shut out. 10 or 15 minutes, not hours, not a retreat, a daily protected repeated appointment.
And know what that repetition produces. You can develop spirit life until you dominate circumstances. So here is the routine we are going to build.
Three movements receive in the morning, carry through the day, seal at night. Each one has a purpose and each one has scripture behind it.
Let us begin with the first, the morning and with the six steps that open the transfer. There is one of those steps, I told you about it. The one where it actually begins. Stay with me.
Movement one. Receive the word in the morning. To why the morning? Three scriptures, one pattern.
Psalm 53. My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O Lord. In the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.
Psalm 143:8. Cause me to hear thy loving kindness in the morning, for in thee do I trust.
Isaiah 54. He wakenth morning by morning. He wakenth mine ear to hear as the learned. Morning by morning the ear is opened.
And Joshua 1:8 says the word is to be meditated on day and night.
The morning is the first half of that command. There are six steps. Five of them prepare the ground. One of them is where the word actually crosses over. I will tell you which one when we get there.
Step one, choose one verse and keep it for the week. Not a chapter, not a new passage every day. One verse match to the place where your head and your life currently disagree. If fear is loud, 2 Timothy 1:7,
if provision is the pressure, Philippians 4:19,
if your identity feels shaky, 2 Corinthians 5:17,
if you need strength, Philippians 4:13,
if you need peace, Isaiah 26:3.
Only pick one verse and stay with it. Depth comes from repetition, not variety.
Step two, shut the door. Matthew 6:6. When thou prayest, enter into thy closet. And when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret.
The phrase here was shutting yourself in alone with your own spirit.
Phone off, no input. The first words of your day belong to the word, not to the news.
Psalm 119:147. I prevented the dawning of the morning and cried, I hoped in thy word. The psalmist reached for the word before the day reached for him.
Step three, read it aloud, slowly, not silently, aloud.
Romans 10:17. Faith cometh by hearing, and the first person to hear you is you.
Proverbs 4:20-22. My son, attend to my words. Incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes. Keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh, eyes, ear, and heart, those all engaged.
Step four, break it down and put yourself in it, a phrase at a time. If the verse is Philippians 4:19, say it this way. My God, not a distant God, my God shall supply, not might, shall all my need, not some, all, according to His riches in glory, not according to my bank account.
Psalm 119:15. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. Meditate and respect. Look at it closely and honor it.
Step five, ask it questions. What does this mean in my situation today? If this is true, what changes? What would I do differently if I treated this as more reliable than my feelings?
Psalm 119:18. Open thou mine eyes that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law. Ask the Holy Spirit to open the verse and wait.
Now, step six, this is the one.
Step six, say it until something settles, not for show, until the verse stops sounding like a quotation and begins sounding like something you are saying about your own life. That settling is the beginning of the transfer. Do not rush it. It is the reason for the other five.
Understand that new creation realities never become realities to us until we confess them. And that when the heart and the lips join in joyful confession, faith rises to the flood tide. Heart and lips together is the target.
This is why many people feel nothing. They stop at step three. They read it. They agree with it and they leave. The words never settle because they never stay long enough to settle. 10 minutes is enough to begin. 15 minutes is better. Write the verse on a card and put today's date beside it. That is the receiving movement.
Before we go on, I want to mention something that can help you with exactly this rhythm. Our secret is day and night, but the morning is only the meal. What happens after you leave that room?
Because this is where Wednesday is one or lost that is next movement two, carry the word through the day. If the morning is the meal with the day is the digestion without this movement the verse stays on the plate. Deuteronomy 6:6-9. And these words which I command thee this day shall be in thine heart. And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou rise up. And thou shalt bind them for a sign upon thine hand. And they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes. and thou shalt write them upon the posts of thy house and on thy gates.
Sitting, walking, lying down, rising up. The Word is woven into the whole day, not confined to one appointment.
Psalm 119:97. Oh, how love I thy law. It is my meditation all the day.
Psalm 119:11 gives the purpose. Thy word have I hid in mine heart that I might not sin against thee. Hid, stored somewhere, it can be reached from the inside. Five moves.
And the third one is the one that wins Wednesday. Dot one. Anchor the verse to what you already do. Speak it when you brush your teeth, when you start the car, at a red light. Before you open your laptop, when you wait in a queue. These are the natural pauses of the day. Fill them with the verse instead of the phone.
Colossians 3:16, "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom. Dwell, take up residence.
Two, write it where your eyes fall, a card in your pocket, a line on your phone's lock screen, a note by your workspace.
Habakkuk 2. Two, write the vision and make it plain upon tables that he may run that readeth it.
Three, use it as the answer when the old thought fires. This is the heart of the
carrying movement. When the fear rises, you do not fight it with willpower. You answer it with the verse you are carrying. 2 Corinthians 10:5.
casting down imaginations and every high thing that exaltth itself against the knowledge of God and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. Casting down is active. The verse in your mouth is the instrument.
Ephesians 6:17 calls it the sword of the spirit which is the word of God. A sword is for use, not for display. And that is
exactly what Jesus did in the wilderness. It is written as the answer in the moment. Let me show you. The phone rings, the number is lower than you hoped, and the old thought fires.
What if it never gets better? You do not argue. You answer. God hath not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. 2 Timothy 1:7.
Out loud if you can, under your breath if you must. Four, think on it.
Philippians 4:8. Whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever
things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report. If there be any virtue, and if
there be any praise, think on these things. Midday is when the mind drifts back toward the loudest input. Return it
deliberately. 1 minute. Say the verse, reset, act on it. James 1:22. But be ye doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. Kenyon said, "Believing is simply acting on the word as we would act on the word of a loved one." If your verse is about provision, make today's decision like someone whose God supplies. If it is about authority, speak to the thing in front of you with that authority. If it is about peace, take the next hour like someone who has it. The word never becomes a part of our lives until we act it. Action is how the word leaves the page and enters the life. You will miss some of these. That is not failure.
Proverbs 24:16. For a just man fall seven times and riseth up again. When you remember, begin again at the next pause. No guilt, just a restart. Do you see it now? Receive in the morning.
Carry through the day and the Wednesday that used to defeat you begins to look different. But there is a third movement. The one I said would surprise you. It happens at the one time of day we treat as wasted. And it is the time when your inner man does some of its best work. That is next.
Movement three.
Seal the word at night. This is the movement I said would surprise you because the night is the time we treat as wasted. We scroll, we worry, we collapse, and then we sleep as though nothing happens in there. But scripture says something different. Psalm 12, his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and
night. Psalm 63:6, when I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Psalm 119 148, mine eyes prevent the night watches, that I might meditate in thy
word. And Psalm 16:7, I will bless the Lord who hath given me counsel. My reigns also instruct me in the night
seasons. instructed in the night seasons. The inner man does not clock out when you do. Now, here is where the word seal comes from. Job 33:15-16. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep fallth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed, then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction. He openeth the ears, and sealeth their instruction. The night is when God seals what he has been teaching. Then Jesus gives us the picture. Mark 4:26-28.
So is the kingdom of God. As if a man should cast seed into the ground, and should sleep and rise night and day, and
the seed should spring and grow up, he knoweth not how. For the earth bringeth forth fruit of herself. Look at the man.
He plants then he sleeps and the seed grows while he sleeps and he does not know how. That is the principle behind
the night movement. Plant the word last and let the night work with it. God has always worked this way. Genesis 2:21 and 22. And the Lord God caused a deep sleep to fall upon Adam, and he slept, and he took one of his ribs. And the rib which the Lord God had taken from man made he a woman. One of the greatest things God did for Adam, he did while Adam slept.
And Psalm 35, I laid me down and slept. I awake for the Lord sustained me.
Four moves. One, review the day honestly.
Where did the verse hold? Where did you forget it? Psalm 4:4. Commune with your own heart upon your bed and be still.
This is not self- condemnation. It is calibration. Romans 8:1 stands. There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. You are simply noticing. And if it was a hard day and you forgot the verse all day long, do not skip the night because the day failed. The night is where you recover the day. Two, return to the same verse. Speak it again slowly the same way you did in the morning 10 times if you can. Psalm 19:14. Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in thy sight, oh Lord, my strength and my redeemer.
Three, thank him. Thank him for the word and for what it is producing before you see the result.
Philippians 4:6. In everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known unto God.
Thanksgiving is how the inner man rests in the promise.
Four, sleep on it. Proverbs 3:24, when thou liest down, thou shalt not be afraid. Yay, thou shalt lie down, and thy sleep shall be sweet. Psalm 127:2. He giveth his beloved sleep. Let the last input of the day be the word. So the hours of sleep are spent with the verse and not with the day's worries.
Keep the card by your bed. Put the phone away. Let the verse be the last thing your eyes see. If you have trouble sleeping, the verse can be a place for your mind to land. And if the sleeplessness is constant, please speak to a doctor as well. That is wisdom. And it works alongside the word. In the morning, you may notice something. The verse is already there before you reach for it. That is the night's work. Now you have the whole rhythm. Morning, day, night, receive, carry, seal. But a rhythm is only a rhythm if it is repeated. So what does a week look like?
What happens on day three when the mind pushes back and asks, "Is this doing anything?" And how do you know when the word has actually moved? That is next.
Now, let me show you how to run this over time because the routine only works if it is repeated. The 7-day pattern.
One verse all seven days. The same verse in the morning, carried through the day, sealed at night. On day one, it will feel like words. That is normal. You are saying a verse out loud and nothing seems to move. On day three, the mind pushes back. It asks whether this is doing anything. It tells you that you are wasting your time. This is the day many people stop. Galatians 6:9. Let us not be weary in well doing, for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. By day five, you begin to notice the verse arriving before you reach for it.
By day seven, it has begun to answer the old thought before you have time to argue. That is the early sign of the word moving. Then comes the 21-day pattern. After 7 days, keep the same verse or choose its companion and continue to day 21. Mark 4:20. And these are they which are sown on good ground, such as hear the word and receive it and bring forth fruit, some 30 fold, some 60 fold, and some 100 fold. Luke 8:15 adds the condition. In an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it and bring forth fruit with patience. Keep it with patience. Fruit follows repetition, not hurry. If your first verse was Philippians 4:19, its companion might be Psalm 23:1. The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack anything. Same truth, new angle, and the root goes deeper. Remember the stony ground from the beginning, no root. This is how roots form, not in a day, in days. And if it feels like nothing is happening, remember Hebrews 6:12, that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises. Faith and patience together. 1 Timothy 4:15 gives the summary of the whole method.
Meditate upon these things. Give thyself wholly to them that thy profiting may appear to all. Your progress will be visible, not because you announced it, because it shows. I wrote that you can develop spirit life until you dominate circumstances. He did not mean a single dramatic encounter. He meant the accumulation of days like these.
Psalm 13. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water that bringeth forth his fruit in his season.
His leaf also shall not wither, and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. A tree does not strain. It is rooted and the root does the work. Now the four signs I promised you four. Here they are. Sign one. The verse starts to rise first. Before the fear, before the doubt, before the worry, the word shows up. That is the headto-pirit transfer taking place. The spirit has begun to respond before the mind has finished its argument.
Sign two, your confession begins to match your conviction. You are no longer saying one thing with your mouth and another with your heart.
Romans 10:10 is being fulfilled in you.
Heart and lips agree.
Sign three. Your decisions begin to come from a different place, not from what the situation looks like, but from what the word says. 2 Corinthians 5:7. For we walk by faith, not by sight. Walking by faith is not a slogan. It is the natural result of a spirit that has been fed on the word until the word is louder than the view.
Sign four. Your peace changes. Isaiah 26:3. Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee because he trusteth in thee. Stayed, fixed, held in place by repetition. A mind that has been stayed on the word daily is a mind the circumstances cannot easily move.
Now go back to that Wednesday. The call comes. The number is lower than you hoped. And this time the verse rises first. The confession holds. The decision comes from the word and the peace stays. Same Wednesday, different believer. One practical tip. Each night write one line about what you noticed that day. Psalm 103:2. Bless the Lord, oh my soul, and forget not all his benefits. After 7 days, you will have a record, and you will see what has been happening that you could not feel. But all of this stays theory unless tonight you choose one verse. In the last part, I will give you your assignment and a prayer to begin with. Back to Sunday. The message landed. You wrote down the verse. You said, "Amen." And by Wednesday, it was gone. You now know why it was received, but it never moved. And you know how to move it. Not with a retreat. Not with a special gift.
With a rhythm that fits inside 24 ordinary hours. So here is your assignment. Not all of this tomorrow.
One verse. Tonight, choose it. match it to the place where your head and your life disagree. If fear is loud, 2 Timothy 1:7, if provision is the pressure, Philippians 4:19, if your identity feels shaky, 2 Corinthians 5:17, if you need strength, Philippians 4:13, if you need peace, Isaiah 26:3, if you need wisdom, James 1:5, write it on a card. Tomorrow morning before the phone, give it 10 minutes, shut the door, read it aloud, break it down a phrase at a time, ask it questions, and say it until it settles. During the day, anchor it to three habits you already have. Speak it at the red light. Write it where your eyes fall. And the first time the old thought fires, answer it with the verse. Tonight, return to it.
Review the day honestly. Speak the verse again. Thank him before you see the result and sleep on it. Then do the same for seven days. Receive, carry, seal.
This is not a performance. It is a rhythm. You are not earning anything.
You are feeding your spirit that is already alive. So that what is inside you begins to govern what is around you. On your busiest day, keep a minimum, one minute.
Read it aloud once, say it three times, and thank him. A small seed still counts. Picture yourself 3 weeks from now. The same pressures may still be knocking, but the verse arrives before the fear does. Your words match your heart. Your decisions come from what God has said, and the peace holds. and tell one person which verse you chose.
Ecclesiastes 4:9. Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. 10 or 15 minutes, a closed door, your own spirit. That was my invitation. The development of the spirit is not complicated, but it is daily. And the word that becomes part of your spirit by daily rhythm is the word that stands when the pressure arrives. James 1:25. But who so looked into the perfect law of liberty, and continue therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the word, this man shall be blessed in his deed. Continueth therein, not a forgetful hearer, a doer. Proverbs 4:23, "Keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. out of it. Not out of your notes, not out of your memory, out of the heart, the spirit where the word lives. Let me pray with you. Father, thank you for your word. Thank you that it is food for my spirit and that it is meant to live in me, not just pass through me. Forgive us for the Sundays we received it with gladness and let it die by Wednesday. Teach us the rhythm where we have been forgetful hearers, make us doers. Open our eyes to behold wondrous things out of your law. Give us the discipline to begin tomorrow morning and the grace to begin again when we miss a day. Let your word move from our heads into our spirits until it governs how we think, how we speak, and how we live. And when the pressure comes, let the verse rise first in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
If this teaching has stirred something in you, write this. The word lives in my spirit, not as a wish, as the decision of a believer who has understood that the word was never meant to stay in the head and who is choosing from today to move it one verse and one day at a time into the place, my heart where it governs.
Share this with someone whose Wednesday has been defeating them and as we continue unlock the depths of the word, the inner man, and the daily practices that build a spirit nothing can shake. God bless you tonight. Choose one verse.
