Cough Up a Tumor

A mother of six from Coventry, U.K., said she's cancer-free after coughing up a three-quarter-inch tumor.

Claire Osborn, 37, was driving when she felt a tickle in her throat, the Daily Mail reported. Moments later, she hacked up a heart-shaped lump of liver-colored tissue.
"I knew something was very wrong so I went straight to my GP who sent the tissue sample away for tests," Osborn told the Daily Mail.
The tests revealed Osborn had metastatic adenocarcinoma - an aggressive form of cancer that likely stemmed from glandular tissue at the back of her mouth. Doctors told her she'd need chemotherapy to kill any remaining cancer and gave her 50-50 odds of surviving, Osborn said.  But when they ran a positron emission tomography (PET) scan to spot the cancer left behind, they found none.
"The consultant turned round to me and said, 'It appears you have coughed up your cancer. Congratulations,'" Osborn told the Daily Mail. "I was totally flabbergasted. I couldn't believe a coughing fit had saved my life."
Osborn had a small operation to remove any cancer cells that might have been lingering at the back of her mouth on Nov. 29, the Daily Mail reported.
Dr. Gary Walton, the head and neck surgeon who treated Osborn, said it's rare for patients to cough up cancer, but not impossible.
"We suspect the tumor grew on a stalk at the back of her mouth which is very difficult to detect," he told the Daily Mail. "Somehow she dislodged this and the stalk snapped and she coughed up the tumor."
Dr. Edward Kim, chief of head and neck medical oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, said the coughing fit acted as surgical resection of sorts. But he added that metastatic adenocarcinoma usually requires chemo and radiation treatment, too.
"It's very rare that these types of tumors don't require other treatments beyond surgery," he said.
As for the fluky fit that alerted Osborn to her cancer, Kim estimated fewer than 5 percent of patients discover mouth and throat tumors haphazardly.
"Usually there are subtler symptoms, like difficulty with swallowing or speech," he said.
Osborn said she's lucky to have coughed up the cancer before it invaded other parts of her body.
"If I hadn't coughed it up, the tumor would have grown and almost certainly spread to my other organs," she told the Daily Mail. "Anyone with a persistent cough should get checked out as a precaution."

Eradicate Asthma -- Now (Coughing?)
Read how water brought an end to Rhonda Stapleton's lifelong attack of bronchitis and persistent coughing.

Dear Dr. Batmanghelidj,
I suffered from asthma as a small child, which eventually sudsided. However, I continued to have debilitating bouts of bronchitis every winter of my life. I cannot remember a single year when I did not have a persistent, hacking cough, starting in the fall and continuing through March. One time this coughing was so violent that I had to be taken to the emergency room.Other times I actually pulled muscles and in one case injured a rib from repeated and violent coughing. Doctors kept prescribing antibiotics, but they had absolutely no effect on the problem, and in fact created other symptoms that just made things worse.

This October I was really dreading what I knew would be six long months of suffering for me and my husband (who is kept awake nights listening to me cough). In my morning contemplation (my religion's form of prayer), I asked to be shown a solution to my problem. Immediately, I heard the word " water, " and I knew at once that drinking more water would somehow help me, though I wasn't sure how.

I was never much of a water drinker, so I began to drink more water. I increased my intake to the usual 6 - 8 glasses a day that doctors usually advise. And amazingly, I had no signs of the bronchitis. But somehow I doubted that the inner guidance I had received was accurate.. I began to doubt the correlation between my increased water intake and my improvd health. I guess the mind is always looking for facts and figures to back up what the part of us that is divine (soul) already knows.

In any case, just as the period of doubting began, someone at work told me about your book and I ordered it. Your book was the " proof " I was looking for ! Your explaination of how dehydration leads to asthma and bronchitis was crystal clear to me, and gave me the renewed determination to keep drinking more water. I also added salt to my diet.

I do not follow your regimen as completely as I would like to. But when I began slipping, I notice a little congestion in my chest, and I again become attentive to my water intake. I am amazed to report that I have made it through the first winter of my life without any bronchitis, and without the persistent, hacking cough that has trouble me every year of my life.

I am incredibly grateful for your work, and hope you are able to distribute this information in a more global way, as I feel much suffering could be alleviated and many misspent medical dollars saved if only people understoond the significance of water to the body's functioning.

In heartfelt gratitude,
Rhonda Stapleton

Coughing is part of the cleansing mechanism for the lung tissue that is in constant contact with particles suspended in the air that enter through the nose. In lung infections and irritation of the air pipes (the bronchus and bronchioles), the cough reflex is triggered and a person can cough to exhaustion. This type of a cough is normally dry and can become bothersome. Asthmatics usually develop such dry cough before their shortness of breath and gasping for air become obvious. It is this initial cough that should be recognized as aprimary indicator of an impending asthma attack. The cough sems to be caused by the same process that will stimulate the secretion of mucus for plugging the bronchioles.

Jus remember to drink 31.42 ml of plain water for every 1 kilogram of your present body weight. Drink half an hour (30 minutes) before any meal, to prevent concentration of blood flow.

Stop Cough?

.....cough, coughing, or coughed? The noise of cough is noisesome and attracts many staring from others around you. Why does human body "cough"?

Technically, a cough is a reflex, a sudden noisy expulsion of air from the lungs. It is the human body's natural instinct to free the lungs of foreign matter. Coughing is your body's attempt to cleanse itself by forcing toxic matter out of an overload system.

Try these simple and effective natural method.
Roasting an onion and drinking the squeezed juice or combining cooked onions and honey into a thick syrup. Try either remedy as needed to overcome the most stubborn coughs.

Have you watch the film "Where the Lilies Bloom"? One day orphaned children discovered a neighbour dying from pneumonia. To save him, they resort to a traditional mountain remedy : a bath of onions. Once he is immersed in the onions, his body weeps out the toxins of pneumonia, and he recovers.

There are points on human tongue and cheek that will relieve coughs. Gently press the middle of your tongue with a tablespoon or tongue depressor for three to four minutes. Repeat as needed in half-hour intervals.

Ground ginger with sugar cure cough! "Don't worry that it burns the throat. It stop the cough." Combine a pinch of ground ginger with 1/4 teaspoon of sugar. Put on the tongue just before bedtime and let it dissolve.

To soothe coughs and obstructions of the lungs and windpipe, drink lime blossom (linden) tea. Drinking linden tea will induce perspiration and discard internal toxins. Use as needed.

The chest mustard plaster is effective against stubborn cough. It heals by bringing blood to the surface of the skin. This breaks up internal chest congestion.

The Chinese have a fun food remedy for coughs which combines healing honey with either apple or pear. Make a hole in the side of a pear or an apple. Pour honey into the hole, then steam the pear or apple until cooked through. Mash and eat.

No cough is a joy and peace to everyone around you. Share the remedies, stop cough.

It is never too late or too early to revise and be wise again for the rest of our journey.......

Use Water-cure.
Rather be thankful for the timely warning, and do something about it.

Drink at least 10% of your own daily water-quota (31.42 ml multiply by your present body weight(kg), every 90 minutes. Use 1/4 teaspoon of sea-salt in your daily diet, for every 1250 ml water drank.

Pain is a sign/signal produced by dehydration in the human body. Pain may be common but it is not normal.

To simplify complications is the FIRST essential of success.
