The Advantages of E-Commerce from Home.

Why Sell Online? The Advantages of E-Commerce from Home.

Doing business online has become more and more commonplace in recent times. In fact, many small scale businesses are using e-commerce to build exposure and compete with much larger businesses. To understand why you would want to sell online, let's take a look at some advantages of e-commerce.

No Overhead

Maybe the biggest advantage is the lack of overhead involved with online business. Rather than having to pay for the rent, utilities, insurance and other costs of a traditional brick and mortar store, expenses are greatly reduced with an e-commerce store. In fact, the only real cost to run an online store is the money for web hosting. Most of the time, this is very affordable and you can have your store set up quickly with minimal hassle. Since it's completely virtual, you don't have to worry about losses due to theft or other disasters like fire. Consequently, e-commerce is an effective way to do business without all of the complications and headaches of a brick and mortar store.

Larger Reach

Another benefit is the size of your demographic that you can reach. While traditional stores are often limited to a specific city or region, you can sell to people all over the world with an online store. Basically, anyone with a computer, Internet access and a bank account can conveniently make a purchase via an e-commerce store. This means that you can conduct business on a global level and sell to anyone who is interested in your products or service.

Sell 24/7

Along with reaching a larger demographic, an online store is constantly in operation. Unlike a traditional store with regular hours, there is no limit to the hours in which you can sell. This means that you can make money while you're sleeping, on the weekend or even on holidays. Rather than relying on employees to make sales for you, an e-commerce store never takes a break and money can be made 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Consequently, this often results in significantly higher earnings.

Compete with Larger Businesses

Besides this, e-commerce gives small businesses the opportunity to compete with the big boys. This is mainly due to the low costs associated with online business, affordable hosting and low cost marketing techniques like search engine optimization, social media and pay per click advertising. While in the past, the company with the most funding and money for marketing dominated their niche, online business has leveled the playing field considerably. For example, a small business with a great product and an SEO expert could realistically receive a higher ranking in Google than a much larger company with unlimited marketing funds. You can also attract high end customers who normally wouldn't shop in a small, unknown brick and mortar store. While many high end customers wouldn't give a mom and pop store the time of a day in a physical setting, they are likely to make a purchase online because everyone is on the same level.

Convenience for Customers

In addition, shopping online tends to be easy for customers. For example, customers can conveniently view a business's catalog from the comfort of their own home. This way, customers can avoid traffic and crowds and make a purchase whenever they feel like it. Shopping online also appeals to consumers who don't like being pressured by salesman as well.

What Do I Need to Know Before Launching My Online Store?

An ecommerce site builder is a program that lets you build, customize, and run an online store. A complete ecommerce solution and the best ecommerce sites will come with the tools to walk you through the entire process: hosting, design, pricing and payment options, marketing tools and reports. These are the signs that you’ll be using the best ecommerce platform available in 2015.
First, consider how much you'll sell. If you anticipate heavy traffic, an ecommerce solution that offers lots of online storage space, inventory, and bandwidth is ideal. Next, decide on the level of customization you'd like, to ensure you’ll have the best ecommerce platform for you. Many e shop site builders offer attractive templates ready-to-use, while others come with HTML for more seasoned web designers. Check for must-have features such as payment security and sales reports. Also, be sure to provide enough payment and shipping options for your customers, and look closely at tools such as the ability to create discounts, loyalty programs, or gift-wrap options on your ecommerce website. Not all website builders will offer the same options, and some may charge for extras. All of these considerations effect the success of your online shop and how you sell online. Finally, go with a program that is easy to use and has a solid customer support team. A well-designed e-commerce builder should be simple yet effective. The less time you have to spend figuring out the program, the more time you'll have to run your business.

Ecommerce 101

Over the past several years, ecommerce has transformed how people buy and sell online. The Internet provides a fast and easy way for people to purchase things without having to visit an actual store. An online store can reach customers anywhere in the world. In fact, online shopping has become so popular that many vendors sell only online with no physical location. Ecommerce also facilitates the purchase of digital media such as downloadable music and movies: with no physical product, vendors can boast truly instant delivery. There are many e commerce companies, and it’s important to understand which of the best eCommerce sites let your online shop flourish as you sell online.

Today's top ecommerce site builders take all of these factors into account for your ecommerce website. Many programs are designed to accommodate the sale of both physical and downloadable products. In addition, online businesses are quickly evolving to face times of economic hardship by offering steeper discounts, flat-rate shipping, loyalty programs, and other perks. Many e-commerce site builders and the best ecommerce platform options make it easy to run promotions and keep your customers happy. Finally, although the boom in online sales has also opened a potential avenue for fraud and scams, site-builders have managed to stay ahead by offering top-of-the-line site protection and payment security to keep the online marketplace as safe as possible.

The Three S's of Ecommerce

Stick to these three simple S's of ecommerce and you'll be well on your way to launching your online store.

Storage Space:

Some ecommerce site builders put a cap on your sales, so choose one offers you the inventory space and bandwidth to fit your needs. The best ecommerce platform will let your online shop sell online without limitations.

Safety Protocols:

Choose a program that offers fraud protection and Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption. This is for the protection of you and your customers. SSL technology makes it possible to send online payments securely and is a must-have on all ecommerce sites.

Site Design:

Your ecommerce solution should have a user-friendly interface. The best ecommerce sites and functions of each tool should be clear and it should be easy to select your desired options. A top-notch site builder will make it easy to build your online store. An extensive FAQ and customer support team can make a world of difference. Also, remember the needs of your customers. Imagine that you're shopping your own online store. Well-designed menus, filters, and sorting options will minimize the amount of time it takes to find a product and purchase it. Consider also the "look" of your site. Many ecommerce site builders offer professionally-designed templates that are both pleasing to the eye and can improve a customer's overall shopping experience. Just like in a physical store, a cluttered and disorganized e shop display will leave customers frustrated and empty-handed, whereas a streamlined and enjoyable buying process will encourage purchasing.

E-commerce (electronic commerce or EC) is the buying and selling of goods and services, or the transmitting of funds or data, over an electronic network, primarily the internet. These business transactions occur either as business-to-business, business-to-consumer, consumer-to-consumer or consumer-to-business.

What is an eCommerce solution?

Ecommerce software is the engine behind the scenes of an online store, making it possible to easily manage inventory, add or remove products, calculate taxes, and everything else required to manage a website and fulfill orders.

What is the b2c e commerce?

More recently, the term B2C refers to the online selling of products, or e-tailing, in which manufacturers or retailers sell their products to consumers over the Internet. It is one of four categories of e-commerce, along with B2B (business to business), C2B (customer to business) and C2C (customer to customer).

What is an e commerce platform?

It is a software technology solution that allows you to build storefronts (a storefront is any customer or business facing proposition relating to the selling of products and services) eCommerce Platform, Website, In Store, Facebook store, Mobile app, Call Centre.

Competition among e-commerce platforms has been fierce historically, with a few names controlling the lion’s share of the market.

North America - 19 MILLION
South & Central America - 14 MILLION
Western Europe - 3.5 MILLION
Central & Eastern Europe - 10.5 MILLION
Africa / Middle East - 1.5 MILLION
Asia / Pacific - 51 MILLION
TOTAL = 99.724 MILLION

Change appears to be the key ingredient for e-commerce platforms looking to set themselves apart from the competition. As fresh faces in the industry rise, platforms will have no choice but to adapt to the wants and needs of merchants and customers alike if they hope to stand out in 2017.

Total e-commerce sales reached $1.9 trillion in 2016, with trends signaling double digit growth up until 2020. In short, the platforms that facilitate business and drive the world of e-commerce may be more important than ever this year.

Ways to Make Money While You Sleep

11 Ways to Make Money While You Sleep

Is your money making money while you sleep?
Does it sound too good to be true? Since we still live in the age of the interest, it’s not that difficult to earn extra money on the side.

With that in mind, here are ways that you can actually earn money while you sleep.

1. Start a blog.
Perhaps the most popular way to earn a passive income is by launching your own blog. It only takes a couple of minutes to setup and is cheap to start - just purchase your domain name and pay for hosting.

After that, start creating amazing content that people would be interested in reading or sharing. For example, if you’re an accountant that has helped small business owners with their taxes, then that could be your blog. I personally have my invoicing blog to help customers know everything there is to know about invoicing. This draws thousands of signups a month.

Make sure the topics you write about are popular. If you still love your pet rock, I doubt there would be enough people visiting your our site to monetize it. But, you never know.

Once you’ve gained a following, you can start making money from of your blog by:

Earning commissions as an affiliate. This is where you push other people’s products or services on your site. Make sure these products or services are relevant to your blog. For example, that accounting blog could become an affiliate for accounting or invoicing software. Once you find an affiliate partner you’ll be given a unique code so that whenever a visitor clicks that link on your site you’ll earn your commission.

Sell-advertising. If you’re site has the traffic to become an affiliate, then it may also be good enough for advertisers to purchase ads on your site. You may start off small, like making under $20 per ad. But, you may eventually be able to charge triple digits. Again, you site must be quality.

Find sponsors. This is slightly different than just selling ads on your site. Sponsorships may be a one-off piece of sponsored content or permanent logo embedded in your footer.

2. Sell your own information product.
If you’re knowledgeable in a certain area, then you can start creating products, such as eBooks or videos, and selling them on your blog. It may take a lot of work to create and market your products, but once all the leg work is over, you can just set back and collect the proceeds.

3. Earn royalties.
If you’re a talented musician, actor, or author, then you could earn royalties from your work. In other words people will pay you for using your work or creative assets.

If you aren’t talented enough, but still interested in earning royalties, then check out Royalty Exchange. It’s a marketplace where you can buy and sell royalties.

4. Create a membership community.
If you’ve proven yourself to be a authority figure, then you can create a membership community where you pay a monthly fee to receive additional high-quality content and information that’s not available to non-members.

One of my favorite examples is Timothy Sykes who makes more than $100,000 per month in passive income through his membership community which discusses how people can make money in trading penny stocks.

5. Install an autoresponder.
Another common online business model is using autoresponders to sell services, products or memberships. This is where people leave their email address on your site and then they’ll receive an automated email containing the link to download products or quality information you have to offer, as well as follow-up with a series of emails.

You’ll a need service like OptinMonster to make this possible. I also recommend you read this Quick Sprout guide to get started with autoresponders.

6. Flip websites.
If you’ve put in the time and effort in building a website and you have gained a lot of traffic, then you may be able to sell it to an interested party by listing on marketplaces like Flippa. I've bought and sold a lot of sites here and made a lot of money.

7. Sell physical products.
Just like with a blogging site, there are several ways to earn a passive income by selling physical products. Probably one of the best known ways is by selling your old junk on eBay. But even if you don’t have anything left to sell you can start drop shopping. This is where you sell products for a company on eBay or Amazon and they’ll take care of the rest - including shipping.

You can also launch your own eCommerce store by using Shopify. They literally give you everything you need to sell products online from a complete online shop to including buy buttons on your social media channels. 8. Invest in stocks or shares.
When you invest in stocks you become a stakeholder. That entitles you to a share of their profits. Investing in stocks has been a popular way to earn a passive income for years, and thanks to the internet, it’s easier than ever to research and invest in stocks on your own.

Keep in mind that the stocks you invest in can change throughout the various stages of life. For example, I look for investments that can benefit my daughter, such as a CA529 plan that will go towards her college tuition.

9. Peer-to-peer lending.
Companies like LendingClub, Propser, and Harmoney have created a new industry where anyone can become a lender. They will then match you with a consumer who either prefers or has trouble securing a loan from a bank. You can earn a higher interest rates on the loans you issued since you’re dealing directly with the borrower.

10. Rent out property.
Thanks to Airbnb, you can rent out your home while on vacation or your vacation home when not in use. You can also rent out your garage, parking space, or unused office space. It’s a nice supplemental income without really doing anything except placing an ad.

11. Hire a middleman.

This is also known as arbitrage and is basically where you have someone else do the work for you. For example, you could start a dog walking service or web design firm, but outsource the actual dog walking or coding to someone else. You’re much better doing anything except being the middleman who is in charge of marketing these services.

Skills You Can Learn Online for a Lucrative and Productive 2017
Expand your skill sets to be desirable in the job market.

I am so much in love with this era we are in -- an era where there is so much information online for self-development. A focused and determined person can learn many skills online and use them to diversify his or her income. With all the advanced, digital technology in this world, no one should give excuses of not having one or two skills to remain relevant and competitive.

In the days of yore, skill acquisition and dissemination were limited to certain geographical locations because of the low level of technological know-how. However, the advent of sophisticated technology -- which propelled the development of many apps, software and social media -- has made skills and knowledge easily disseminated and accessible.

There are countless websites readily available for you to acquire valuable skills and knowledge for free or with little fee for a productive 2017. These skills are:

1. Web design and development.
Web design and development is a highly sought-after skill. This is because we are in a digital transformation age where every business -- small, medium and large scale -- is extremely interested in showcasing their products and services to the world through their websites.

There are lots of sites that can teach you how to design and develop a website. By acquiring these skills, one is adequately positioned to scramble for millions of small, medium and large scale businesses who are contemplating launching or updating their websites.

2. Statistical data analysis.
Statistical data analysis is another vital skill that is in high demand by companies, entrepreneurs and students. The knowledge of Mini-tab,  Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) and E-view, just to name a few, makes a person highly desirable.

As a researcher, I have smiled all the way to the bank numerous times because I have some knowledge of statistical data analytical software. Most students in tertiary institutions need an expert data analyst -- companies too, especially when sophisticated software is needed for forecasting market shares, profit and other vital results that will aid managerial decision making.

You can learn these data analytical tools online, and consult an expert for clarification should you encounter some difficulties trying to grasp the calculations and interpretation of results.

3. Fashion designing.
Humans are always in need of food, clothes and shelter. These are three basic necessities of life. Both rich and poor are in need of clothes. In our contemporary world where fashion is always a trending issue, everybody wants to look classic and beautiful. This has made fashion designers kings and queens in their profession.

There are sites that can teach you how to draw fashion or make fashion sketches, and there are lots of online videos that can teach you make dresses. The beauty of having this skill lies in the way customers flock around fashion designers within few hours of setting up an office.

Fashion designing is synonymous to a football match; there is never a dull moment from the blast of the whistle. What do I mean? Even at the apprentice stage, customers are already flocking around you.

4. Make-up.
Believe it or not, the makeup business is growing at an incredible rate. There are lots of online videos that can teach you the rudiment of make up. An interview with Ifeoma Agu, the CEO of Ivonmelda Makeova, shocked me. She is an expert in hairstyle but felt she needed a makeup skill to enhance her business growth.

However, since she couldn’t afford the training fees, she decided to download lots of YouTube videos on makeup. The rest is history. She is one of the most sought-after makeup artists in her state as a result of her quality service delivery. Remember, she learned this skill for free. You can do same.

5. Business research.
Many people want to venture into business while those who are already in business are seeking other businesses to invest in. Many companies and investors are actually seeking well-researched business ideas to invest in.

As a business researcher, you can work on your own terms. You decide whether to sell your business ideas or become a partner in the businesses. At the end of the day, you will be surprised to see that you are a co-owner of chains of businesses.

Acquiring this skill is not as difficult as you think. I am saying this because most people are indifferent when it comes to research. All you need is to be patient, focus and determined. Read online articles and journals or watch videos on business research. It's also a good idea to consult an expert.

6. Own a blog.
You can actually learn how to create and run a blog online. By systematically following the step-by-step instructions on creating a blog, you'll be acquiring the skill to create more blogs for prospective clients. You can create a blog for your web design and development business, statistical data analysis, fashion designing, makeup and business research businesses.
