Your Body’s Many Cries for Water

RARE indeed are those books destined to become all-time classics. Even rarer are books destined to accomplish a Paradigm shift in any major area of modern knowledge. Of still greater rarity are books destined to benefit the health of countless millions of human beings, at no cost to them. Such a landmark book is “Your Body’s Many Cries for Water” by Dr. F. Batmanghelidj. He is a London-educated Iranian medical doctor who has made revolutionary discoveries about the water metabolism of the human body. His astounding basic breakthrough was made while he was confined to a Teheran prison, this being a unique circumstance in itself.

ARISTOCRATIC LINEAGE
Dr. Batmanghelidj is of aristocratic lineage in his native Iran, and when the Shah was overthrown, the doctor was arrested and jailed with more than 3,000 other well-born victims of the Khomeini revolution. While these unfortunates wore awaiting execution, Dr. Batmanghelidj was assigned as their medical officer pending his own appearance before a firing squad. He had no medical resources other than water, in an environment pervaded by stress and terror. Indeed, the doctor found himself incarcerated in a gigantic stress laboratory.

This became the milieu in which fundamental discoveries were made regarding the medicinal and functional value of water. These are discoveries that have eluded giant medical trusts, vast hospital complexes, and battalions of medical Professors, universities that boast about their sophisticated research facilities, and all the vaunted resources of the pharmaceutical industry. None of them, or indeed, all of them combined, were capable: of penetrating to the bedrock of human health: adequate daily water intake.

Without realizing it initially, Dr. Batmanghelidj was working with clinical controls in place. Prison discipline enabled him to follow up his patients, who had no possibility of evasion. Forced to use water medicinally, and water alone, Dr. Batmanghelidj was astonished in following up his patients, to find that water was effecting full cures of diverse, normally ineradicable diseases. These cures occurred in a complete fashion not seen in response to medication, which “treats” or “controls” such recalcitrant and diverse diseases as asthma, arthritis, high blood pressure and ulcers. Official medicine has only palliatives for these conditions, not cures.

Dr. Batmanghelidj was blessed by a first class medical training at St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School of London University, one of the most respected medical schools in the western world. He was one of the last students of the eminent discoverer of penicillin, Sir Alexander Fleming. Thus steeped in classical orthodoxy, Dr. Batmanghelidj was totally embarrassed to find that water was doing in a dependable way, what medication had never been able to do. In his classical medical training, like orthodox doctors world-wide, Dr. Batmanghelidj was taught that it was the solid material in the body (the solute) that was important. Only an incidental status was assigned to the solvent aspects of the human body to water.

WATER HAS OTHER IMPORTANT PROPERTIES
Scientific research shows that water has many other properties beside being a solvent and a means of transport. These properties include:
1. A hydrolytic role in all aspects of body metabolism – water-dependent chemical reactions (hydrolysis).
2. At the cell membrane, the osmotic flow of water through the membrane can generate “hydroelectric energy” (voltage) that is converted and stored in the energy pools in form of ATP and GTP – two vital energy systems.
3. Water also forms a particular structure, pattern and shape that seems to be employed as the “adhesive material” in the bondage of the cell architecture. Like glue, it sticks the solid structure in the cell membrane together. It develops the stickiness of “ice” at higher body temperature.
4. Products manufactured in the brain cells are transported on “waterways” to their destination in the nerve endings for use in the transmission of messages. There seems to exist small waterways or microstreams along the length of nerves that “float” the packaged materials along “guidelines” called microtubules.
5. Proteins and the enzymes of the body function more efficiently in solutions of lower viscosity – this is true of all the receptors in the cell membranes.

The new paradigm shift for future research should be “Water, the solvent of the body, regulates all functions, including the activity of the solutes it dissolves and circulates”.

WATER CAN ACTUALLY TREAT CHRONIC DISEASES!
Elusive and seemingly unrelated conditions like dyspeptic pain, stress and depression, high blood cholesterol, high blood pressure, excess body weight, chronic fatigue, arthritis, asthma and allergies, insulin-independent diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, back problems and a host of lesser complaints that bedevil human beings, have all yielded to the ingestion of adequate daily water. Dr. Batmanghelidj identifies Alzheimer’s as due to dehydration of the brain.

Dr. Batmanghelidj has personally treated with only water well over 3,000 persons with dyspeptic pain, with the result that the clinical symptoms related to pain all disappeared. Eight 8-ounce glasses daily is the recommended regimen advocated by Dr. Batmanghelidj, to keep the human body fully hydrated. For each cup of coffee or other caffeinated drink, an additional, compensating eight-ounce glass of water is required.

WATER CAN TREAT BACK AILMENTS!
Perhaps the most welcome and convincing finding of Dr. Batmanghelidj is the key role played by dehydration in creating back ailments in human beings. The spinal discs consist of about eighty percent water. When these discs atrophy through varying degrees of dehydration, an afflicted human is off on one of the most miserable medical merry-go-rounds known to man. The human spine has to support about 75 percent of body weight. Without fully-hydrated and resilient spinal discs, the spine cannot perform its function properly. “Back problems” ensue.

Abnormal physical and nervous pressures develop and vertebrae become misplaced as the spinal discs collapse. In the USA, such back problems are now on an epidemic scale, largely defy physicians and surgeons, and endlessly persecute the afflicted.

Dr. Batmanghelidj has found that rehydration restores the integrity and resilience of the spinal discs. Simple exercises he has devised, create a natural vacuum effect: that draws the needed water back into the discs, whose proper bearing function is thereby eventually normalized. Contrast this with the dead-end, mechanistic “back surgery” that now consumes hundreds of millions of dollars in surgeons’ fees and hospital costs every year.

Back pains are among the body’s many cries for water, from which Dr. Batmanghelidj’s book has appropriately taken its title. The horrific wheezing of an asthmatic, which is one of the most embarrassing and distressing things anyone can witness, is similarly the body crying for water. Dr. Batmanghelidj has demonstrated that asthma is due to the body’s natural histamines constricting the lungs to limit any further loss of water via the breath. The person so afflicted is desperately dehydrated. In the prison environment in Iran, adequate water provided a cure for asthma one of the astonishing clinical results that first started Dr. Batmanghelidj thinking about the medicinal power of water.

WATER CAN TREAT HYPERTENSION
Dr. Batmanghelidj views the way hypertension is classically treated as “scientific absurdity”. The dehydrated body is desperately trying to hang on to its water volume. Uncomprehending physicians intervene with diuretics and literally force more water out of an already dehydrated body. The author gives lucid, comprehensible descriptions of the exquisite hydraulic design and engineering of the human body, and the diverse functions of the cells, capillaries and membranes as they operate to compensate for dehydration. If the body’s many cries for water are ignored, as they are in contemporary America, degenerative diseases are the inevitable consequence. A congress scrabbling to deal financially with an avalanche of degenerative disease, is verification enough that the time has come for a new medical paradigm.

I wish you all the best of health,

God bless,

Quantum Doctor

What is a quantum doctor? A quantum doctor is a practitioner of medicine who knows the fallacies of the Newtonian classical physics-based deterministic worldview that was discarded in physics many decades ago.

A quantum doctor is grounded in the world-view of the new physics, also called quantum physics.

And there is more. Quantum doctors bring the message of quantum physics alive in their practice of medicine.

Consciousness comes first

You may wonder: What difference does a worldview make in the practice of medicine? In contrast to the classical physics world-view in which the world is seen as a mechanical, determined machine, we cannot even make sense of quantum physics unless we ground it in the primacy of consciousness: Consciousness comes first; it is the ground of all being.

Everything else, including matter, is a possibility of consciousness. And consciousness chooses out of these possibilities all the events we experience.

Now do you see? Physicians of the old ilk of classical physics aficionados practice machine medicine, designed for machines (that is the picture of the patient in the classical worldview) and by machines (the physicians who are self-avowed machines).

And make no mistake about it, the medicine that the patient gets, allopathic medicine, is also of a mechanical nature, with chemical drugs, mechanical surgery or organ transplant, and energy radiation.

A quantum doctor, on the other hand, practices conscious medicine designed for people, not machines. What conscious medicine prescribes includes the mechanical but extends also to the domains of vitality and meaning, even love. And most important, as practitioners of conscious medicine the quantum doctors bring consciousness to their practice.

Admittedly, the quantum doctor is right now only an idea developed in this article, an idea you are probably reading about for the first time. But if the idea is here, and as I will show, it is an idea with much integrative power, can the manifestation of the idea be far behind? In fact, a partial manifestation of the idea is age-old and continues to the present era.

I am talking about practitioners of what today is called alternative or complementary medicine, including the age-old systems of acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine, Ayurveda (developed in India), spiritual healing, the more recent homeopathy, and the very recent mind-body medicine.

Alternative medicine practitioners go partway toward being quantum doctors. Their medical systems are designed for conscious beings, and they do have more dimensions than the mechanical. Unfortunately, alternative medicine practitioners suffer from considerable amounts of worldview confusion.

Machine medicine

Although our culture promotes the ‘great’ advancements of machine medicine all the time, still many people are disillusioned with it. Partly, it is because we all miss the conscious human touch that we expect from a healer.

Partly, it is because, its ‘miracles’ notwithstanding’, allopathic medicine doesn’t work well for the bulk of our day-to-day medical problems – the chronic ailments, for example. And it is because machine medicine and mechanical procedures are very expensive.

So although the machinists in medicine are openly scornful of alternative practices, alternative medicine is gaining in popularity. Unfortunately, this only aggravates the reaction of the conventional allopathic practitioners.

Before, allopaths could afford benign neglect. But now, as their bread and butter is threatened, for many of them it is all-out war against alternative medicine. Alternative medicine is voodoo medicine, they declare.

If the world is machine, mind is machine, and even the soul is machine, as some observers contend, then how can anything but machine medicine have any validity?

Alternative medicine practitioners also strike back. Let’s note just two of their criticisms. Allopathic drugs have harmful side effects, they point out. Why should we unnecessarily poison the body?

Allopathic procedures such as vaccinations administered when we are children weaken the immune system so much that we become more vulnerable to disease later in life. Why should we accept such procedures without questioning them?

Can’t we end this war?

We all are interested in health and healing, in our physical well-being. We all search for it when we don’t have it. But with the sharp division of medicine into two camps – conventional and alternative – it is increasingly difficult to choose the proper healing method when we need it.

What criteria should we use for such a choice? Is a combination of healing techniques better than any one technique?

What should we do to maintain our health, to prevent disease in the first place? Can we heal ourselves without any physical or chemical instruments of healing?

The answers to such questions depend on whom you ask. Are at least some of the stories of spontaneous healing true? Some experts answer yes. But is spontaneous healing accessible to all of us? Experts from some medical traditions nod yes, while others stubbornly shake their heads no.

When we are middle-aged or old, are we to feel fortunate if we suffer from only a few chronic diseases, without any major life-threatening illness? Should we accept stress and lack of vitality as the price we must pay for modern living?

Maybe so, some experts say. Why is economics such an important consideration for health and healing? We are sorry, say the experts. Is medicine only about pathology?

Can we not strive for positive health where vitality and well-being reign supreme? We don’t know, say the experts.

Truth is, we cannot begin to answer such questions with much credibility without developing an integral paradigm that embraces all medical systems that have adequate clinical data to support their efficacy. We must end the current confusion of paradigms that pervades medicine.

Never fear, the quantum doctor is here. The quantum doctor, like his or her worldview, is integrative. And I am convinced that when medicine is formulated within the integral metaphysics of the primacy of consciousness, conventional (allopathic) medicine and alternative medicine can be reconciled.

Not only that, their different domains of applicability, even their interrelationships, will be clearly understood.

An inclusive paradigm

But if you want to build an inclusive paradigm, how do you join contradictory philosophies? You need an inclusive philosophy.

This inclusive philosophy – a metaphysics based on the primacy of consciousness in this age of science – is the gift of quantum physics and is the philosophy of the quantum doctor.

In quantum physics, what we normally perceive as ‘things’ are seen to be not things; instead they are seen to be possibilities for consciousness to choose from. This single idea has the potency to integrate all the disparate philosophies underlying the different schools of medicine.

And more. It has the potency to validate your particular search for healing and show you how to achieve it.

Matters of the heart and Straight from the Heart

by A. Shrikumar

Squeezing a wedge of lemon into a glass of warm water, Dr. B.M. Hegde says, “It’s the best medicine for an acidic stomach. You don’t have to run to the hospital for every ailment.” “Not even for blocks in your heart,” he asserts. “Blocks in arteries are common,” he points out.

The leading cardiologist also notes that in reality there has not been even one per cent absolute increase in the rate of heart attacks. It is a plain hype, he says and calls it a labelling error.

Unfortunately, every chest pain is dubbed as angina and every block is labelled coronary disease,” declares Dr.Hegde.

“Anybody who walks into a hospital with complaints of chest pain is made to undergo angiogram whereas there is a need to understand heart blocks,” he says. “Blocks happen when you are young and as they grow, nature provides bypasses through collateral vessels. This is called pre-conditioning the heart.”

Dr. Hegde believes that any individual who sees a doctor for medical help becomes a patient. “Once you get caught in the whirlwind, you continue to remain a patient.”
The veteran cardiologist has been known for making bold statements on the dark side of medical industry. “When I was a student, I questioned how can cholesterol be bad if it’s made by our body. Forty years ago, I wrote that cholesterol is a counter by the body to increasing stress levels. I said coconut oil is the best oil for the heart at the American College of Cardiology Meet long ago.”

“The flaw of today’s approach to treatment is that the human body is seen as a car machine which can be repaired part by part. Whereas, the human body is a whole entity and should be treated in entirety. How else can one explain the side-effect of drugs used to treat one organ, affecting the other organs?” he asks.
Author of over 40 books, Dr.Hegde also supports alternative forms of medicine like Ayurveda. Quoting Sanskrit texts from Ayurveda, he explains how any treatment ought to be holistic.
“Ayurveda has unfortunately been relegated to back seat, in spite of being traditional and rich form of medical treatment,” he says.

“Health is about the environment you live in and the mind is the environment of the body. It’s not what you eat but what eats you (the thoughts) kills you,” he says. “The key is to cultivate positive thoughts and surround yourself with positive emotions. Quantam healing is the new method of healing. Your mind can heal you.” He suggests the book Quantum Doctor by Amit Goswami.

Dr.Hegde opposes the burgeoning fitness craze among the young urbane crowd driven by the belief that fitness leads to good health.
“Health is in the mind and fitness is in the muscle. These are two different things but often confused as one. If someone is fit to run a marathon doesn’t mean he/she is fit to live a healthy life.” “Health is not even absence of disease, as all of us have diseases. We all will have over 100 cancer cells at any given time, but they don’t become clinical cancer as they die on their own.”

Quoting a sloka from Ayurveda, Dr.Hegde defines health as the enthusiasm to work and love. “Keep the enthusiasm in you alive, nurture positivity and cull negativity and you are healthy”, is his simple mantra.

Dr.Hegde practises what he calls ‘Coordinated medicine’, that’s futuristic and meta treatment. “I take elements from various genres of medicine. For instance, I take emergency care and corrective surgery from modern medicine. I don’t prescribe too many drugs and treat patients unnecessarily.” Calling modern medical treatment as ‘exclusive’ and ‘reductionist’, Hegde comes down heavily on the trial-and-error method of slapping scans, drugs and tests on patients. “I have come up with suggestions of a new definition of health and the concept of whole person healing instead of organ healing, both of which have been accepted by the Institute of Medicine.”

As a vegetarian, Dr.Hegde suggests following traditionally made and locally grown food. “One should eat what their ancestors ate. To eat Mediterranean food in Madurai will not suit your body. Eat the locally grown fresh fruits and vegetables and follow recipes that have been there for generations.” A veteran doctor that he is, Hegde says every doctor should unfailingly follow ethics since they deal with human lives.”

Dr.Hegde was in the city to deliver a guest lecture on ‘Spirituality and Health’ at the Madurai Readers’ Club.

YOUR BIG OPPORTUNITY

You have only one judge—your word. Jesus Christ said; "I say unto you that every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment, for by thy word thou shalt be justified, and by thy word thou shalt be condemned."

Every day is a day of Judgment. We used to be taught that it would be at the end of the world. Look back in your life and see how you have attracted either happiness or disaster through your words. The subconscious has no sense of humor. People joke destructively about themselves and the subconscious takes it seriously. It is because the mental picture you make while speaking impresses the subconscious and works out on the external. A person who knows the power of the word becomes very careful of his conversation. He has only to watch the reaction of his words to know they do not return void. People make their worst mistakes by speaking while they are angry or resentful, because there is so much ill-feeling back of their words. Owing to the vibratory power of words, what you voice, you begin to attract. People who continually speak of disease, invariably attract disease.

Invisible forces are ever working for man, who is always pulling the strings himself, though he does not know it. We read in the Bible "life and death are in the power of the tongue." Yet most people are speaking destructively from morning until night. It is because they have formed a habit of criticism, condemnation and complaint and are eager to tell you of their misfortunes and how mean all their relatives are. They wear their friends out and people avoid them. They are talking themselves into a flock of troubles. Now that we know the power of the word why not take advantage of it? We take advantage of the radio, the telephone and aeroplanes but live with the Mound-builders in conversation.

Science and religion are now coming together. Science is discovering the power within the atom; metaphysics teaches the power within thoughts and words. We are dealing with dynamite when we deal with words. Think of the power of the word in healing! A word is spoken and a chemical change takes place in the body.

One of my friends was seriously ill. The doctor said she had chronic bronchitis and was on the verge of pneumonia. Her daughters and the doctor rushed her to bed and she had a nurse, but weeks passed and there was no improvement. She was a Truth student but for over a year had attended no meetings nor had she kept up her reading. One morning she telephoned me and said, "Please speak the word and get me out of this! I can't stand it any more; I'm not sick, I'm just disgusted. So much negative talk and thought have almost floored me." Through the spoken word and her affirmation of Truth immediately there was a change for the better. She had a strong hunch to go out and was told it would be dangerous, but by this time she was following Divine Guidance. She went out and called on me and said she was going to attend a luncheon the next day. What had happened? The words of Truth were making a change in her mind and a chemical change was taking place in her body. We are told that if we believe, never doubting, we can say to that mountain, "Be thou removed," and it would disappear into the sea.

The inexhaustible energy in man is released by good-will. A man free from fear, undisturbed by appearances, sending good-will to men and nations, could say to these mountains of hate and war; "Be thou removed" and they would return to their native nothingness.

Resentment and intolerance rob man of his power. We should have signs in the subways and shops "Watch your thoughts!" "Watch your words!"

Let us now be careful in directing this dynamic force within us. Let us direct it to heal, bless and prosper and direct it in waves of good to the whole world. It goes out a mighty force, but noiseless! Thought, the strongest power in the Universe is without sound. Your good-will sweeps all obstacles from your pathway and your heart's desire is released for you.

What is really yours? The answer is: "All that the kingdom affords is yours." Every righteous desire of the heart is promised you. There are three thousand promises in the Bible, but these gifts can come to us only if we can believe them possible, for everything comes through you—not to you. All life is vibration. Feel rich, and you attract riches. Feel successful and you become successful.

I knew of a small boy who was born in a little country town with no advantages, but he always felt successful; he had the conviction that when he grew up he would be a big artist. No one could discourage him because he was success; he had only success thoughts; he radiated success. At an early age he left the small town and went to a big city and to support himself he got a position as a newspaper artist on a daily paper, all this without previous preparation. It never occurred to him that it could not be done. He went to an art school and immediately became a shining light. He never studied in an academic way. Whatever he once saw he remembered. In a few years he went to a still larger city and became a well-known artist. This success came to him because he was always seeing success. "I will give to you the land that thou seeth."

The children of Israel were told that they could have all the land that they could see. The Bible is a metaphysical book and it is speaking to the individual. This minute, it says to each one of us, "I will give to you the land that thou seeth." So, what are you seeing with your inner eye? What pictures are you inviting into your life? The imaging faculty has been called the scissors of the mind. If you have failure thoughts, reverse the thought with a success thought. This sounds easy enough to do, but when a failure thought has become a habit, it takes eternal vigilance to dislodge it. That is when a powerful affirmation is needed. You cannot always control your thought but you can control your word, and eventually the word impresses the subconscious and wins out.

If you are in a negative state of mind just take the statement: "I look with wonder at that which is before me!" It creates an expectancy of something wonderful and something wonderful will come to you. Cultivate the feeling that miracles and wonders are coming to pass. Cultivate a success expectancy.

Very few people bring into life what is rightfully theirs. They live on the outskirts of their heart's desire. It always seems too good to be true. To the person spiritually awake nothing is too good to be true.

If you want to hear people talking who are still asleep in the Adamic dream, go to a hairdresser's establishment. The Adamic dream is the illusion of opposites. Adam fell into a deep sleep having eaten of the tree of illusion. Of course, Adam stands for generic man— the race-man. The race- man vainly imagined loss, lack, failure, sin, sickness and death. The awakened man knows only one power, God, and one condition, good. But now we will return to the beauty parlor. The following is an exact quotation and a good example of what one hears: A woman sat down near me and said in a loud voice, "This place is too warm! Turn something on or open something." The attendant said to her, "How are you feeling today, Mrs. S?" She replied with a heavy sigh, "Oh, I'm pretty well, but I have a hard time keeping well." To the manicurist she said, "Why don't you wear glasses?" The girl replied, "I don't need glasses, why should I wear them?" The woman replied, "Because everybody wears them. You'll find there is something wrong with your eyes if you have them examined." When she finally leaves they all feel limp and wonder if they are really well or only seem to be well. She leaves a trail of apprehension and gloom. This is a sample of what one hears from nearly every booth; the way most people talk. It is appalling when one knows the power of the word and what they are attracting, for they are nearly all describing illnesses or operations.

You combine with what you notice so do not describe anything destructive for you begin to combine with it. What is really yours? The blessings you bring to yourself, through your spoken or silent word; the things you see with your inner eye. Only your doubts, fears and resentments keep your good from you. If you hate or resent a situation, you have fastened it to you, for you attract what you fear or dislike. For example: someone has been unjust to you and you are filled with wrath and resentment. You cannot forgive that person. Time rolls on and another person does the same thing. It is because you have a picture of injustice engraved in your subconscious. History will repeat itself until you think you are cursed with misfortune and injustice. There is only one way to neutralize it. Be absolutely undisturbed by injustice and send good-will to all concerned. "My good-will is a strong tower round about me. I now transmute all enemies into friends, all inharmony into harmony, all injustice into justice." You will be amazed at the working of the law. One student brought harmony out of chaos in her business affairs by that statement.

Do not look back and hash over hard times, or you will be drawn back into these conditions. Give thanks for the dawn of a new day. You must be immune to all discouragement and adverse appearances.

All that you desire or require is already on your pathway, but you must be wide awake to your good to bring it into manifestation. After making statements of Truth you suddenly have a flash of realization. You suddenly feel yourself in a new environment. You feel old negative conditions falling away. I once said to a woman "The walls of lack and delay now crumble away, and you enter your promised land, under grace." She said she had a sudden flash of a wall crumbling away and that she stepped over it. Soon after that, the change came, and she really did enter her Promised Land of Plenty.

I knew a woman whose daughter's desire was a home and husband. In her early youth she had had a broken engagement. Whenever a possible marriage appeared on the horizon, she became frantic with fear and apprehension, picturing vividly another disappointment, and she had several. Her mother came to me to speak the word for her right marriage, Divinely designed, which could not be interfered with. During the interview the mother said continually: "Poor Nellie! Poor Nellie!" I said: "Do not call your daughter 'poor Nellie' again. You are helping her to be demagnetized. Call her 'Lucky Nellie,' `Fortunate Nellie, for you must have faith that God now gives to her the desires of her heart." The mother and daughter persisted in making their affirmations. She has now fulfilled her destiny for she is Mrs. Nellie, the demon of fear dissolved forever.

There are wonderful statements in the Bible referring to the breaking down of negative thought forms. "The power of the Spirit is mighty even unto the pulling down of strongholds." The human mind is helpless to cope with these negative thoughts. The victory is won by the God within, the superconscious mind.

"Brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report, if there be any virtue, and there be any praise, think on these things." Phil. 4 : 8.

If people obeyed this, general conversation would come to a standstill for a while, until people learned to talk about constructive things.

Chapter 19 SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHAT TO DO TO BUILD YOUR BASELINE OF HEALTH, DAY BY DAY

Chapter 19

SPECIFIC RECOMMENDATIONS ON WHAT
TO DO TO BUILD YOUR BASELINE OF
HEALTH, DAY BY DAY

The secret to health, the secret to all of the success that the great "Miracle Doctors" share, isthat they look to raise every inch of a person's Personal Health Line. If you do that, if you raise
the entire line, the odds of good health (even of recovery from terminal disease) are remarkably
favorable. If you want great health, if you want relief from illness that has not responded to traditional
medicine, try using this program in cooperation with your physician. The results may very
well astound you—and your doctor.

                     Suppplements

Daily For Everyone

>The bedrock of your supplement program is a broad-based supplement. I recommend a biodynamically grown, living-food, multi-vitamin/mineral complex.

>One and a half tablespoons of golden flaxseed ground and mixed with juice twice a day—before breakfast and supper.

>A liquid trace mineral supplement.

>A good probiotic.

>Enzymes with every meal. And at bedtime several times a week.

>A full-spectrum antioxidant.

>Immune booster and pathogen destroyer.

>Drink a minimum of 64 ounces of pure, pH optimized water a day.

Daily For Those Over 30

>Progesterone cream for both men and women

>Testosterone balancing formula for both men and women

Periodic

.
>2-4 times a year: colon cleanse and detoxification program.

>2-4 times a year: blood/liver detox

If seriously ill, the detox programs above are to be done immediately—back to back. Then, take one week off and repeat, and repeat again as long as necessary.

>Four times a year: fast on fresh juices (absolutely not bottled or canned) for 3 - 7 days. If you prefer, you can combine the quarterly juice fasts with the colon and blood/liver detox programs.

Again, if seriously ill, start a juice fast immediately. Drink up to a gallon of fresh juice a day—an 8 ounce glass every hour you're awake.

Optional

If needed, take a colon activator daily to avoid retaining fecal matter. Also, the worse you eat and/or the more contact you have with toxins, the more often you need to cleanse and detox.

            Lifestyle Changes

Daily Exercise

Even if you are ill (especially if you are ill), you must exercise. If all you can do is hobble around the bed with a walker, do it. Do one lap around the bed the first day, and two the next.

Lessons from the Miracle Doctors - 165 - Specific Recommendations

Relaxation

>Meditate daily, or pray deeply—morning and evening. At the end of each session, practice a healing visualization and affirmation. Use a nerve tonic as needed.

Diet
>You know what to do. If you can't be perfect in your dietary habits, at least be better than you are now.

>If you have a really bad day (filled with chili dogs, beer, and ding dongs), do a one day juice fast the next day. Your body has a remarkable ability to repair itself—if you give it a chance.

If you are ill, you have no choice. You must totally clean up your act until you are well. No cooked foods. No processed foods. Lots of fruits and vegetables—especially fresh juices.

                        Brand Names

I have decided not to include specific brand name recommendations for the various supplements described in the book. Nevertheless, the ingredient lists and specifications for each formula are located in the individual chapters and can be used as a guide if you choose to look for suitable formulas in a health food store.

On the other hand, if you wish to see the specific brands that I personally recommend, you are welcome to visit my WEB site. Since my list of "the best products" and "best buys" changes periodically, I have decided to keep the list online, where I can update it as needed.

You are also welcome to visit the site and sign up for the online global business opportunityof the Baseline of Health Wealth. It's our Financial FREEdom. Click here to Join me. Thank you.

Doctor’s Politics Affect Your Care

Doctor’s Politics Affect Your Care

I already know that this newsletter is going to upset many people--especially those who don't read beyond the title. Everyone likes to believe that their political views are carefully thought out, rational opinions formed by their awareness of the world around them and a mastery of facts. In other words, they are the result of absolute free will and are therefore entirely independent of all other aspects of their lives. Anything that challenges that opinion, which is effectively a challenge to free will, and especially anything that contains the words Republican and Democrat, really upsets people. In other words, anything that even implies that our politics might be influenced by our fundamental psychological or even genetic makeup or, even worse, that our political proclivities might shape how we view the world and the decisions we make, is going to bring out the dogs of war.

But if we are honest about it, we all intuitively know that political beliefs do indeed spill over into nonpolitical domains such as consumer spending, choice of romantic partner, and job hiring. That said, what we're going to talk about today is something quite different but nevertheless touches on the same hot buttons. A new study suggests that the political beliefs of our primary care physicians may predict their professional decisions--at least for certain health questions.1 According to the study, when it comes to politicized health issues like marijuana and abortion, it turns out that a physician's partisan identity is highly correlated with his/her treatment decisions. Because physicians regularly interact with patients on politically sensitive health issues, and because the medical profession is increasingly politicized (e.g., state governments are regulating politicized aspects of medicine), it is necessary to understand how your doctor's political worldviews might impact their decisions, recommendations, and actions in the medical examination room when it comes to your diagnosis and treatment. That understanding should then inform not only how you filter their recommendations but also whether or not it's in your best interest to look for a new doctor.

The political beliefs of our primary care physicians may predict their professional decisions.

So, setting aside the question of free will for the moment, which really isn't being called into question by this study, let me suggest that you read through to the end of the article as there are real lessons to be learned from the several studies we're going to talk about--real lessons that can affect the health care you receive.

With that in mind, let's take a look at the newly released study in question.

Republicans, Democrats, and Doctors

The co-authors of the study, Eitan Hersh, an assistant professor of political science, and Matthew N. Goldenberg, MD, an assistant professor of psychiatry, linked the records of over 20,000 primary care physicians in 29 US states to a voter registration database, thus obtaining the physicians' political party affiliations. They then contacted 1,529 of them to participate in the study, ending up with a sample of 231 doctors--both Democratic and Republican primary care physicians--whom they then surveyed. The survey involved the physicians evaluating nine patient vignettes which they were told were recounted by patients as part of a complete physical. Three of the vignettes addressed especially politicized health issues (marijuana, abortion, and firearm storage). Specifically, the vignettes presented scenarios such as a healthy-appearing 38-year-old male patient who "acknowledges using recreational marijuana three times per week" or "who is a parent with two small children at home" and "acknowledges having several firearms at home." And yet another fictional patient said she had two abortions in the past five years. Those vignettes were interspersed with some more neutral complaints like obesity, depression, or not wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Hersh and Goldenberg then asked the physicians to rate the seriousness of the issue presented in each vignette and how they would treat the patient. The physicians who responded did not know that the survey was about their politics. Rather, they thought it was about how they administer the patient interviews that primary-care doctors give patients before they first treat them. On the politicized health issues--and only on such issues--Democratic and Republican physicians differed substantially in their expressed concern and their recommended treatment plan. (It should be noted that the study controlled for physician demographics like age, gender, and religiosity, patient population, and geography.)

According to Hersh and Goldenberg, "The evidence suggests that doctors allow their political views to influence their professional decisions in the medical exam room. Just as patients choose physicians of a certain gender to feel more comfortable, our study suggests they may want to make a similar calculation based on their doctor's political views." It's important to note that this is not an insignificant issue as physicians frequently interact with patients about politically salient health issues, such as drug use, firearm safety, and sexual behavior.

Perhaps not too surprisingly, Republican physicians expressed more concern than their Democratic colleagues about the vignettes on marijuana use and abortion whereas the Democratic physicians were more concerned about the vignette related to firearms. Democratic doctors were less likely to discuss the health risks of marijuana or highlight its legal risks or encourage the patient to cut down their usage.  On the other hand, they were more likely to urge patients not to store firearms in the home, whereas the Republican physicians were much more likely to discuss the health and legal risks of marijuana and to advise the patient to cut back. They also were twice as likely as Democrats to discourage patients from having more abortions in the future and 35 percent more likely to discuss mental health in connection with abortions. Interestingly, Republican physicians were also significantly more likely to ask their patients if they were storing their firearms safely, though Democrats were more likely to urge them simply not to have them in the home. It should be noted that research shows that counseling by doctors can help promote safe gun storage. On the other hand, studies show that a majority of doctors choose not to go there. Again, physicians of both parties similarly rated the vignettes on non-political issues like depression, alcohol abuse, obesity, and not wearing a motorcycle helmet.

Effect of "Republican" on seriousness of issue. (PNAS)

The study concluded that physician partisan bias can lead to unwarranted variation in patient care. Thus, awareness of how a physician's political attitudes might affect patient care is important to both physicians and patients alike. As Goldenberg noted, "Given the politicization of certain health issues affecting countless patients, it is imperative that physicians consider how their political views may affect their professional judgments. The evidence calls for heightened awareness among physicians and more training concerning our biases in how we address politically salient health issues." As the authors write in the study, "To be clear, we cannot say with any certainty what the root cause of partisan differences in treatment is. However, regardless of the underlying mechanism that affects physician judgment, the evidence suggests a clear effect from the patient's perspective."

In summary, "Just as a patient may seek out a physician of a certain gender to feel more comfortable, the evidence suggests that a patient may need to make the same calculation regarding political ideology." Of course, a Republican or Democratic doctor would likely live in an area where the majority of his or her patients were of the same party. Still, if a contentious health issue is discussed during an appointment, it might be the provider's political beliefs talking, rather than their medical training. In certain cases, according to the study's authors, it might be worth getting a second opinion--perhaps a few towns over.

That said, although I would tend to agree with the study's observations, I'm not sure I agree with their recommendation, at least as stated. But before we go there, let's take a look at the elephant in the room. (And yes, the pun was deliberate.)

The Elephant in the Room

Hersh said he hopes the study will open up a dialogue about how political bias affects medical decision-making and make practitioners more aware of ways in which their personal beliefs might affect the care they give patients. Depending on the study's response, he says, he might even consider making his data on physician names and party affiliations public. This would be important because until the political data can be effectively linked to actual outcomes, the true extent of how politics affect physicians' decisions won't be clear. Unfortunately, he is likely to encounter resistance, especially among the large number of doctors who don't think that their political views inform their practice decisions. As Rep. Phil Roe (R-Tenn.), a retired obstetrician-gynecologist who co-chairs the GOP Doctors Caucus,4 told the Washington Post, "I never once treated a Republican or Democrat cancer in my life. When a patient walked into my office, I didn't know if they were a Republican or a Democrat, and I honestly didn't care."5 Roe went on to tell the Post that he hopes patients will seek out the best care available regardless of their doctor's political affiliation. "Party affiliation should have nothing to do with patient care."

And he is correct. Party affiliation should have nothing to do with patient care. Unfortunately, his pronouncements on the study have nothing to do with the study's actual conclusions. They are a red herring. In fact, the study has nothing to do with Republican or Democratic cancer. All the study is saying is that certain mindsets that are frequently, but not exclusively, associated with party affiliation do have an effect on physician decision making.

In fact, other research has shown that this is even more ingrained than you might think--that there is frequently a genetic factor to political leanings. A study, conducted by researchers out of the University of California, San Diego and Harvard University, identified a particular gene that seems to predispose certain people to a more "liberal" outlook.6 (We will talk more about what a "liberal" outlook actually means in a moment.) Data from more than 2,500 volunteers in the National Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health was analyzed to compare people with the R7 variant of the DRD4 gene.7 Keep in mind that a person's political bent has always been assumed to be a product of their environment and social background, not their genes. And while environment and background certainly have a large impact on each person's beliefs, this study strongly indicates there is something going on behind the scenes in our DNA that influences us right down to our core values. Research has established that approximately 38% of us possess the R7 variant of the DRD4 gene. And please keep in mind that scientists hasten to add that neither version of the gene is better than the other -- if one were superior, natural selection most likely would have eliminated the inferior form.

Now let's talk about what we mean by "liberal," at least as far as this study is concerned. In fact, "liberal" in this case does not refer to which candidate you vote for but, rather, refers to a penchant for novelty seeking behavior. Earlier studies have determined a link between the R7 variant and novelty-seeking behavior. People with the variant may be more likely to try new experiences and take some risks. In other words, the study is saying that those who are more likely to be comfortable pushing boundaries and trying new things can be defined as liberal. And those who don't, who like to play it safe, can be defined as conservative. And again, neither is superior when it comes to genetic survival. On the one hand, playing it safe could have certainly been advantageous to prehistoric man if wild animals were about. But being willing to try new things and push out into new territory would have been advantageous if food supplies were strained in your familiar environment. Each tendency can be advantageous depending on the circumstances.

In any case, now researchers are applying the new findings to this information and suggesting that when people with the R7 gene variant have also had an active social network, they may be more likely to seek out their friends' opinions on political subjects and be open to a wider range of lifestyles, creating a more liberal position politically. And that's the tie-in to politics. However, having the variant does not guarantee a final resting point on the political spectrum. For example, if either the variant form of the gene is not there or the adolescent years were not socially popular ones, then the person can fall anywhere on the political spectrum. The findings were the same across age, gender, ethnicity, and background differences. The bottom line is that we're only talking about tendencies here. There are indeed conservative Democrats and liberal Republicans (I believe they're called RINO's...Laughing). Again, we're not really talking about politics. We're talking about a fundamental, psychological way of viewing the world that merely gives people a predilection to end up in one party or another--not a guarantee.

In fact, more than half a century of research in genetics, neuroscience, and psychology has demonstrated that human behaviors, including social and political attitudes, are influenced by genetic and neurobiological factors. However, these findings have not been widely accepted or incorporated into the dominant paradigms that explain the underlying causes of political ideology. This has been attributed in part to measurement and sample limitations, as well the relative absence of molecular genetic studies.

In addition, there's the 2012 study that combined evidence from over 12,000 twins pairs, ascertained from nine different studies conducted in five democracies with the data from three genome-wide association studies on political ideology.8 In other words, it was not a small study. It concluded that political ideology constitutes a fundamental aspect of one's genetically informed psychological disposition.

So what does this mean for doctors? Well, let's return to Rep. Roe's statement: "When a patient walked into my office, I didn't know if they were a Republican or a Democrat, and I honestly didn't care." We should now be able to see that this statement is irrelevant. We're not actually talking about party affiliation. We're talking about genetically informed psychological dispositions that can inform how doctors choose to treat certain conditions--not that they differentiate between Republican and Democratic patients. And yes, people of certain dispositions tend to gravitate to certain political parties that support that disposition--but again, that's only a tendency, not a certainty. In any case, those same psychological dispositions tend to lean doctors towards conclusions and treatments in line with that disposition.

But What Does the Mean to Me?

At this point, let's just throw politics completely out the window, which should simplify the discussion and remove the emotional heat from it. Let's just acknowledge that different doctors will vary in:

What treatment options they recommend in certain situations
Where they fall on the risk vs safety continuum
Now things become much simpler, which allows us to establish some physician selection guidelines.

Surgery

When it comes to surgery, there are essentially two kinds: standard and cutting edge, high risk.

For standard surgical procedures, you probably want a conservative doctor who follows the safest protocols available. When it comes to routine surgery, you don't want a risk taker.
For more cutting edge or experimental surgeries, you probably want a surgeon who is comfortable playing in unfamiliar territory. If the surgical technique involved is not routine, you want a doctor who thrives when playing outside their comfort zone.
And by all means, check out your surgeon's rating for the particular procedure you're looking to have them perform. Why in the world would you choose a doctor to operate on you who isn't very good at performing the operation and tends to leave lots of bodies on the operating table? And for that matter, be sure and check out the safety score for the hospital where your surgeon is going to be performing the procedure. They provide your doctor's support team.

Primary Care Treatment

On the other hand, when it comes to general medical diagnosis and treatment, you probably want a doctor who lines up with your view of health and nutrition.

>If you're into herbs and alternative health, find a doctor who is friendly (or at least not hostile) to those protocols. Why would you want to put yourself in a position where you're constantly fighting with your doctor about the medications he/she prescribes or the supplements you want to take?

>If you're a strong believer in the virtues of toeing the medical line, then track down the most medically astute doctor you can find--regardless of their opinion of alternative health.

>If you smoke marijuana or use birth control, find a doctor who doesn't fight you about it or look askance at your lifestyle.

>If you don't believe in antidepressants or any other class of pharmaceutical drugs, then don't go to a doctor who refuses to explore alternative treatments--even alternative medical treatments--with you.

>And, as with surgeons, even when selecting a primary care physician, it's a good idea to check out how the doctors you're looking at rate with previous patients.

If you find that you are with the wrong doctor, don’t hesitate to change physicians. It's your life, not your doctor's.

The bottom line is that when medical skill is the priority, find the most skillful doctor you can find--regardless of political outlook. When looking for a primary care physician who will work with you on an ongoing basis, find a doctor of like mind and similar disposition. And if you find that you are with the wrong doctor, don't hesitate to change physicians. Remember, it's your life, not your doctor's.

Dasar-dasar Protokol Terapi Air

________________________________________
Protokol Terapi Air
Kemudian minum air 2 jam setelah sarapan. Lalu 30-45 menit lagi sebelum makan siang.
(It makes it possible for the stomach acids to be more readily made. = Can you help please help with translation)
Cara cepat membentuk kebiasaan baru

What is the Metric Water Cures Protocol?

International Kilogram / Milliliters

The metric water cures protocol in Kilograms and Milliliters is here in beta. Metric does not work as smoothly as US measurements. So we are testing this until we come up with an easier formula.
First, there are a few questions you need to answer before you use it.

How to Start the Metric Water Cures Protocol

Should You Use The Water Cures Protocol? There are only a few reasons why not to use the Water Cures. What are they?

Do Not Use Water Cures If...

DO NOT USE Water Cures if a doctor is caring for your health. If you are taking medications or if you have kidney disease, then do not do this without speaking to your doctor first.

Are You On Medications?

If your doctor has you on medications, the Water Cure protocol may be a problem. It may make your medications work too good and the dose will have to be adjusted. If you are using medications, then only use the Water Cures under your doctor's supervision.

Are You Seeing a Doctor For Treatments?

If you are seeing and being treated by a doctor, then do not use the Water Cure protocol unless you first speak with your doctor.

Do You Pee Less Than 3 Times a Day?

Do you pass water less than three times a day? You may want to see your doctor before using the Water Cures protocol.

Do You Have Kidney Disease?

If you have kidney disease you should not use the water cure protocol without first consulting your doctor.
If you have a kidney or organ transplant, the water cure is not for you.
Low Salt Level Warning: If you have lab tests or your doctor has said your salt levels are low or if you are cutting back on salt and/or if you drink large amounts of water without salt, then you need to use caution on starting the water cures treatment.
Some with low salt EXPERIENCE DISORIENTATION OR WORSE. If you are low in salt and start taking more it may even make you become light headed or pass out.
If you drink large amounts of water and or have self restricted your salt intake, then only start the water cures protocol with the supervision of your doctor's. It is necessary to slowly build up so your body can adjust to the additional salt.

The Basics of the Metric Water Cure Protocol

The Metric Water Cures Protocol

This is the water cures protocol. This is the basic protocol. There is an advanced protocol. More information on "What is the water cure?"can be found throughout the site.

Daily Water: How Much Using Metric Measurements

Note: This is in metric measurements. If you want American measurements, go to The US Measurement Water Cures Protocol
The daily intake of water should be your weight in kilograms multiplied by .0325 to get the daily total liters to drink. Divide this by 5 to get the amount you need to drink each time.
Or you can multiply your weight in kilograms x 6.5 to get the milliliters of water you need to drink each time you drink. If you multiply this times 5 and that will be your daily dose.
Never drink more than 950 milliliters in a 2 hour period and never without salt.
So a 136 kg man would need to drink about 899 ml each time and about 4435 ml daily.

How Much Unprocessed Salt Should You Take?

Our bodies need about 0.6 ml salt for every 500 ml water.
This is based on the original findings of Dr. Batmangehlidgh, where it was suggested to take 1/8th teaspoon for each 16 ounces you drink.
In time, if this is not working, some may need to increase the amount. This is less than the amount of salt in a saline IV. Unprocessed salt has numerous minerals in addition to the electrolytes, up to 70 different minerals.
The salt is taken each and every time the water is consumed. The salt is dissolved in your mouth so that it gets absorbed into the gums and it gets into your blood stream. While it does not need to be fully dissolved, the better dissolved it is the better it will work.

When to Take the Salt and Water

Dissolve the salt in your mouth. Then drink the water. Ideally drink it within 20 minutes of when you awake. Then do not eat for about 30-45 minutes after you drink the water.
Do not drink again for 2 hours after you eat.
Do not drink during meals (too much water will dilute your digestion).
Finally drink about 30 - 45 minutes before sleep.
You can drink during meals, however, it is best to only have sips of water or juices and drinks that the body will read as foods.
Drinking water will dilute your stomach acids that are used for digestion. When we drink before a meal, our stomach is prepared for the food soon to enter. It makes the acids more readily available.

Start the Hydration Habit

To start the hydration habit, start only doing it first thing in the morning and and 30-45 minutes before sleep. Do this every day for 30 days. Once it is a habit, add an additional third time. Again, do it three times a day for 30 days.

Chapter Two : My Personal Transformation

My Personal Transformation

Nothing exists in our consciousness unless
we allow it to be there.
We have the power to create change -
Anytime we decide to do so.

During the time I was watching my breast cancer and bone tumor patients fight for their survival, I was deeply aware that I, too, was fighting for the survival of my personal integrity.  I was in the midst of a major crossroad that would ultimately affect the direction of my life.  My patients were the catalysts that would create a testing ground for me to either make the choices that would honor my personal truth or cause me to fall in with the mass of followers. I could not be one of those who do not listen to the voice of their conscience, but take the safe road to achieve their goals.

Through my intership at University Hospital, I made long-lasting friendship with other interns.  I would talk with the interns I was closest to about the anticancer drug and how it affected the patients.  I expressed my doubts about the continue use of this 'Devil's Drug' and that I believed I needed to stop giving it to the patients.  We had many discussions about whether these feelings were right or wrong. I shares with them that I felt more like a killer than a doctor.  But time and time again, the answers from the other interns were always the same.  They seemed to echo in unison,
"The hospital professor is very powerful!  If you disagree with him and do not follow his orders and give the anticancer drug to patients as you are instructed, he will become very angry.  You will never be able to receive you Ph.D at this hospital! You will have to go somewhere else."

"We should always obey what is asked of us.  This is the only way we can become doctors and go on for our Ph.D.s.  We cannot argue with what we are told, or we will be fired and lose all hope for our future in the medical field!"

I remembered one story told to me that happened at this hospital. It happened long before I arrived here. There was a doctor on the staff, a good doctor and a kind person.  he was a humanitarian doctor.  He was always concerned for his patients.  He was not like some of the other doctors, only interested in their careers and their own future, such as becoming a professor or making more money for themselves.  He disliked prescribing drugs, even though his professor insisted.  It troubled him to watch his cancer patients suffer from the overuse of drugs, especially the new experimental anticancer drugs.  Instead, he would use alternative therapies  that he believed were safer and more natural.  Because he did not follow his professor's orders, he was fired.

Even though he was a good doctor with a good reputation, he could not find another position because his professor used his influence with other hospitals against the good doctor.  He became so frustrated and disgusted that he quit medicine.

The Japanese medical society is an elite class.  It respects and takes care of doctors from universities with the most reputation and power.  They are the only ones who ever become professors in prestigious hospitals.  Those who graduate and are trained at other, less prestigious universities have a difficult time getting opportunities to practice at prestigious hospitals.  If a doctor is graduate of the same medical school as his medical  superior, he will be treated differently with special favor.

Under the strong power and influence of a professor, hospitals can get doctors to fill their staff in respective hospitals. The president or director of a hospital will go to the professor and request doctors. How they show respect and patronize the professor will determine if they are successful.

Because my family has a long history on medicine and owns a large, successful hospital in Osaka, Japan, other doctors have treated me with jealousy.  When I decided that my patients were being given too much of a dangerous drug and decreased the amount of dose, another doctor would change my order on the patient's chart and raise the dosage without notifying me.

Knowing that I would never be able to respect my professor or the doctors who jumped to his orders, i had to make a career decision before I lost my desire to continue to practice medicine.  Beside turning to fellow interns who were my friends for advice, I turned to my family for advises as well.  I respected the wisdom of my mother, who had tremendous insight and heart. She, without s doubt has had the largest impact in my life.  Her words of wisdom would ring loud and clear within my soul.  Ultimately, it would be her influence that would lead me through my struggle and toward the destiny I did not at the time understand.

The turning point in my life that enabled me to come to terms with my own personal truth were the words I heard her  speak to me when I was only 16 years of age.

My mother said , " What I would like to say to you is that you should never be a 'money' doctor. If you will be a doctor who is focused on money, your life will be short because of resentment. However, if you become a humanitarian doctor, your life will be so full of happiness and you, as well as the people who you help, will be forever grateful."

These are the words my mother said to me on the day my father died.  Because of the untimely death of my father at such a young age, and the circumstances surrounding his death, my mother's words will remain with me forever.

My family's tragedy
1963

What happened to my father?
He was such a healthy person!
I can't believe he is gone today when just yesterday he was so healthy!
Why had we not noticed the situation of his ailing health in time?
Especially since my father was a doctor, why was he not able to tell us that he had not been feeling well?
Why was modern medicine not able to prevent his stroke?

I couldn't believe he was gone.  I feared for our future and wondered if we would ever be able to have a normal life again.

My father died when he was just 42 years old.  he was a very famous surgeon whose specialty was cancer surgery.  He had a tremendous amount of drive and energy. He started and developed the Ohno Hospital in Osaka, Japan into a very renowed institution. He was driven to become the president of the Japan Medical Society.
He was an exceptionally hard worker and never believed in taking a break.  He went to hospital every day to see his patients, even on Saturday and Sunday. The only time he took a day off was on New Year's Day.

His main interest was pancreatic cancer, and he had a research center in the hospital so that he could continue his search for a cure. After he finished his daily schedule of surgery , he would always go to the research center to study until midnight.  There were times he would stay longer if he was performing an animal experiment.  I rarely saw him and I would ask my mother why he wan not home. She answered, "Father has stayed at the research center to finish his experiment."

December 8. 1963, was a cold winter's day with the forecast of snow. I was just 16 years old. that morning  when I woke up,  my father was still home. To see him home at this hour was very strange, because he always left for the hospital very early in the morning.  He was never home for me to see him when I got  ready for school.

"Good morning,, Father!" I said.
He did not answer me immediately because  he was not feeling well.  I wasn't aware at the time that he was in physical  pain , so I ignored his delayed response and didn't think very much of it at that moment.  Seeing him home that winter morning is the last memory I have of seeing my father alive.

As soon as he arrived at the hospital that morning, he asked a nurse to check his blood pressure.  The nurse took his blood pressure and said, " Dr. Ohno! Your blood pressure is dangerously high! Your blood pressure is exceptionally high and the reading is 22/120!  It is impossible for you to perform the surgery  you have scheduled today !"

"Please cancel today's surgery because your own health is in a very serious situation ! Dr. Ohno, I am very concerned that  you will suffer a heart attack or a stroke ! Please stop your plans to operate!"
