LOVE AND SELFISHNESS 

THE TWO GREAT SPIRITUAL FORCES IN THE WORLD 

Here are some things that love has never done: it has never enslaved the weaker; it never takes advantage of the ignorant; it has never reigned as a despot or tyrant; it did not vote for the rum traffic; it never steals or takes advantage; it never seeks a divorce; it is never in court as a criminal; it never seeks its own. 

It never behaves unseemly in the family life; it never gets drunk; it never sets a bad example before the children; it does not swear, blaspheme, or use vile language: it does not remember evil that has been committed against it; it does not talk about the weakness and failure of others; it does not rejoice in evil things, and it is never happy when its enemy has been defeated 

This is the negative side of love. 

You ask, "what does love do?" 

It seeketh not its own, it destroys selfishness, it bears the burdens of others. 

When it discovers that somcone has done an unseemly thing, it covers it up, it shields it and never talks about it. 

Can't you see the vast contrast between selfishness and love? 

It is no wonder that the Commissar under Stalin who had charge of the educational system of Russia said,"We must kill love, we hate Christians. Love makes men soft. We must learn to hate. We must learn to kill." 

That is selfishness unbridled. In a country where love has bceyn destroyed, it becomes perfectly shameless. 

Here are some facts we must recognize. 

There are two kinds of love. One is natural human love, the other is the Jesus' kind of love. 

In the opening of this chapter I gave you a picture of the Jesus' kind of love, the kind Communism hates. Why do they hate this love? Because Communism is builded upon selfishness.

以下是爱从未做过的事：它从未奴役弱者；它从未利用无知者；它从未作恶；它从未支持私酒交易；它从未偷窃或占人便宜；它从未提出离婚；它从未身陷囹圄；它从未谋取私利。

它在家庭生活中从不失礼；它从不酗酒；它从不给孩子树立坏榜样；它不咒骂、不亵渎神明、不说污言秽语；它不记恨别人对它的伤害；它不议论别人的软弱和失败；它不为恶事欢欣鼓舞；它从不为敌人的失败而高兴。

这是爱的负面一面。

 你问：“爱会做什么？”

爱不求自己的益处，它摧毁自私，它承担他人的重担。

当爱发现有人做了不体面的事时，它会掩盖它，保护它，并且从不谈论它。

难道你看不出自私和爱之间巨大的反差吗？

难怪斯大林时期负责苏联教育的人民委员会说：“我们必须扼杀爱，我们憎恨基督徒。爱使人软弱。我们必须学会恨。我们必须学会杀戮。”

这就是肆无忌惮的自私。在一个爱被摧毁的国家，自私变得毫无羞耻。

以下是一些我们必须认识到的事实：

爱有两种。一种是人与生俱来的爱，另一种是耶稣的爱。

Voici quelques exemples de ce que l'amour n'a jamais fait : il n'a jamais réduit les plus faibles en esclavage ; il ne profite jamais des ignorants ; il n'a jamais régné en despote ou en tyran ; il n'a jamais voté pour le trafic d'alcool ; il ne vole ni n'abuse de la confiance d'autrui ; il ne demande jamais le divorce ; il ne comparaît jamais devant un tribunal comme un criminel ; il ne cherche jamais à s'enrichir personnellement.

Il ne se comporte jamais de manière indécente dans la vie familiale ; il ne s'enivre jamais ; il ne donne jamais le mauvais exemple aux enfants ; il ne jure pas, ne blasphème pas et n'emploie pas de langage vulgaire ; il n'a pas de souvenir du mal qu'on lui a fait ; il ne parle pas des faiblesses et des échecs d'autrui ; il ne se réjouit pas du mal et il n'est jamais heureux de la défaite de son ennemi.

Voilà le côté négatif de l'amour.

Vous demandez : « Que fait l'amour ? »

 L'amour ne cherche pas son propre intérêt, il détruit l'égoïsme, il porte le fardeau des autres.

Lorsqu'il découvre qu'une personne a commis un acte répréhensible, il le dissimule, le protège et n'en parle jamais.

Ne voyez-vous pas l'immense contraste entre l'égoïsme et l'amour ?

Il n'est pas étonnant que le commissaire stalinien chargé de l'éducation en Russie ait déclaré : « Il faut tuer l'amour, nous haïssons les chrétiens. L'amour ramollit les hommes. Il faut apprendre à haïr. Il faut apprendre à tuer. »

Voilà l'égoïsme débridé. Dans un pays où l'amour a été anéanti, il devient parfaitement effronté.

Voici quelques faits que nous devons reconnaître.

Il existe deux formes d'amour. L'une est l'amour humain naturel, l'autre est l'amour à l'image de celui de Jésus.

Au début de ce chapitre, je vous ai décrit l'amour à l'image de celui de Jésus, celui que le communisme abhorre. Pourquoi hait-il cet amour ? Parce que le communisme est fondé sur l'égoïsme.

Вот чего любовь никогда не делала: она никогда не порабощала слабых; она никогда не пользовалась невежеством; она никогда не правила как деспот или тиран; она не голосовала за торговлю ромом; она никогда не воровала и не пользовалась; она никогда не добивалась развода; она никогда не представала перед судом как преступник; она никогда не искала своего.

Она никогда не вела себя непристойно в семейной жизни; она никогда не напивалась; она никогда не подавала плохого примера детям; она не сквернословила, не богохульствовала и не использовала сквернословие; она не помнила зла, совершенного против нее; она не говорила о слабости и неудачах других; Любовь не радуется злу и никогда не радуется, когда её враг побеждён.

Это негативная сторона любви.

Вы спросите: «Что делает любовь?»

Она не ищет своего, она уничтожает эгоизм, она несёт бремя других.

Когда она обнаруживает, что кто-то совершил неблаговидный поступок, она скрывает это, защищает и никогда не говорит об этом.

Разве вы не видите огромную разницу между эгоизмом и любовью?

Неудивительно, что нарком при Сталине, отвечавший за систему образования в России, сказал: «Мы должны убить любовь, мы ненавидим христиан. Любовь делает людей мягкими. Мы должны научиться ненавидеть. Мы должны научиться убивать».

Это необузданный эгоизм. В стране, где любовь была уничтожена, она становится совершенно бесстыдной.

Вот некоторые факты, которые мы должны признать.

Существует два вида любви. Одна — это естественная человеческая любовь, другая — любовь Иисуса.

В начале этой главы я дал вам представление о любви Иисуса, той любви, которую ненавидит коммунизм. Почему они ненавидят эту любовь? Потому что коммунизм построен на эгоизме.

You see, there are two kinds of Communism. There is a Com-munism governed by sclfish men, and a Communism governed by love. 

Following the birth of the carly church there was such an out-pouring of love that "they had all things in common, and no one said aught that he possessed was his own." 

Satan has tried to imitate that through selfishness, through selfish men, but it cannot be done. 

It is a notorious fact that there are only three or four million communists in Russia, and they are the rulers and under-rulers of the other one hundred and fifty or sixty million people. 

The rulers believe in Communism because it makes them masters, and their people slaves. 

No form of government where selfishness reigns is safe for the weak and poor. 

Five-Sense Knowledge governments have always enslaved the poor and weak. The strong govern the weak. Might is right in the realm of selfishness. 

These selfish law makers fear the Jesus' kind of love for two reasons. 

¹ In the first place, it reveals their meanness and selfishness. The other reason is that the Jesus' kind of love is the positive enemy of selfishness. The two cannot work together. 

You see, self preservation is the first law of natural man. It seeks to save itself, while love is the very opposite...it seeks to save others. 

All the crimes that were committed in war, international crimes, were born of selfishness. 

The war between labour and capital is a war of selfishness. Capital is builded upon selfshness. 

Love would never go on strike. 

Love would never grind labour's face into the dust. 

The only solution of the labour and capital problem is to bring the capitalists into vital contact with Agape, the New Kind of Love. This new kind of love is the nature of God, imparted to man in the New Birth. 

It is the only solution of the labour and capital problem.

你看，共产主义有两种。一种是由自私的人统治的共产主义，另一种是由爱统治的共产主义。

在教会诞生之后，爱如泉涌般涌现，“他们凡物公用，没有人说自己拥有的东西是自己的。”

撒旦试图通过自私，通过自私的人来模仿这种爱，但这是不可能的。

众所周知，俄罗斯只有三四百万共产党员，而他们却是其他一亿五千万或六千万人民的统治者和附庸。

它是解决劳动力和资本问题的唯一途径。

Vous voyez, il existe deux sortes de communisme. Il y a le communisme gouverné par des hommes égoïstes, et le communisme gouverné par l'amour.

Après la naissance de la Carly Church, un tel élan d'amour s'est manifesté que « tous partageaient tout, et nul ne disait que ce qu'il possédait lui appartenait en propre ».

Satan a tenté d'imiter cela par l'égoïsme, par le biais d'hommes égoïstes, mais c'est impossible.

Il est notoire qu'il n'y a que trois ou quatre millions de communistes en Russie, et pourtant ils gouvernent et manipulent les cent cinquante à soixante millions d'autres personnes.

Les dirigeants croient au communisme car il fait d'eux des maîtres et de leur peuple des esclaves.

Aucune forme de gouvernement où règne l'égoïsme n'est sûre pour les faibles et les pauvres.

Les gouvernements fondés sur la connaissance des cinq sens ont toujours asservi les pauvres et les faibles. Les forts gouvernent les faibles. La force prime sur le droit dans le domaine de l'égoïsme.

 Ces législateurs égoïstes craignent l'amour à l'image de celui de Jésus pour deux raisons.

¹ Premièrement, il révèle leur mesquinerie et leur égoïsme. Deuxièmement, l'amour à l'image de celui de Jésus est l'ennemi juré de l'égoïsme. Les deux sont incompatibles.

Voyez-vous, l'instinct de conservation est la première loi de l'homme naturel. Il cherche à se sauver lui-même, tandis que l'amour est tout le contraire… il cherche à sauver les autres.

Tous les crimes commis pendant la guerre, les crimes internationaux, sont nés de l'égoïsme.

La guerre entre le travail et le capital est une guerre d'égoïsme. Le capital est bâti sur l'égoïsme.

L'amour ne se mettrait jamais en grève.

L'amour n'écraserait jamais le travailleur.

La seule solution au problème du travail et du capital est d'amener les capitalistes à un contact vital avec l'agapè, le nouvel amour. Ce nouvel amour est la nature de Dieu, communiquée à l'homme lors de la nouvelle naissance.

 C'est la seule solution au problème du travail et du capital.

(In Russian language) Видите ли, существует два вида коммунизма. Есть коммунизм, управляемый эгоистичными людьми, и коммунизм, управляемый любовью.

После рождения христианской церкви произошел такой всплеск любви, что «у них все было общее, и никто не говорил, что что-либо из того, чем он владел, принадлежит ему».

Сатана пытался подражать этому через эгоизм, через эгоистичных людей, но это невозможно.

Общеизвестный факт: в России всего три-четыре миллиона коммунистов, и они являются правителями и подчиненными остальных ста пятидесяти-шестидесяти миллионов человек.

Правители верят в коммунизм, потому что он делает их господами, а их народ — рабами.

Никакая форма правления, где царит эгоизм, не безопасна для слабых и бедных.

Правительства, основанные на пяти чувствах, всегда порабощали бедных и слабых. Сильные управляют слабыми. Сила — это право в сфере эгоизма.

Эти эгоистичные законодатели боятся любви Иисуса по двум причинам.

¹ Во-первых, это показывает их подлость и эгоизм. Во-вторых, любовь Иисуса — это явный враг эгоизма. Эти два понятия не могут сосуществовать.

Видите ли, самосохранение — это первый закон естественного человека. Он стремится спасти себя, в то время как любовь — полная противоположность… она стремится спасти других.

Все преступления, совершенные во время войны, международные преступления, были порождены эгоизмом.

Война между трудом и капиталом — это война эгоизма. Капитал построен на эгоизме.

Любовь никогда не будет бастовать.

Любовь никогда не раздавит лицо трудящихся.

Единственное решение проблемы труда и капитала — это привести капиталистов в жизненно важный контакт с Агапе, Новым видом Любви. Этот новый вид любви — это природа Бога, дарованная человеку в Новом Рождении.

Это единственное решение проблемы труда и капитала.
