A Time of Corporate Communion ~Kathi Pelton
I began hearing the Spirit speak to me regarding calling a corporate daily communion from 4/4/2020 to 4/8/2020 (Passover). Though I was sure that I’d heard this, I wasn’t sure why until I woke up this morning. That’s when the “why?” began to be revealed.
How My Day Began:
I woke up this morning at exactly 4:44 a.m. and heard the Spirit speak the words from Ezekiel 44:4,
Also He brought me by way of the north gate to the front of the temple; so I looked, and behold, the glory of the LORD filled the house of the LORD; and I fell on my face.
Then, as I began to pray, I once again saw the date before my eyes, 4/4/2020. Then saw four days of a corporate communion prior to Passover beginning on 4/4. Once again, I didn’t know why or what the significance of the date 4/4 was. The fifth day, Passover (on 4/8) would also be a day of partaking in communion and anointing the doorposts of your home in remembrance of God delivering His people from captivity.
As I began to pray further into what I was seeing and hearing I was led to look up the date (4/4) this year to see if it means anything significant to the Jewish people.
Sure enough it does!
It is the last Sabbath prior to Passover and it is called, “Shabbat HaGadol” (“Great Shabbat" לודגה תבש). ( Click here for details) It is the Shabbat immediately before Passover. The first Shabbat HaGadol took place in Egypt on 10 Nisan five days before the Israelite Exodus. On that day, the Israelites were given their first commandment which applied only to that Shabbat,
On the tenth day of this month (Nisan)... each man should take a lamb for the household, a lamb for each home (Exodus 12:3).
This lamb is the lamb that would be sacrificed four days later and its blood placed on the doorposts of every Jewish home.
This explained the four days that lead up to Passover but I felt that there was something more; something specific that was on the Lord’s heart. Knowing that we are in a time like no other time before, where the whole earth is closed in, I could feel the depth of purpose behind this time of communion—but what was it? As I prayed more and researched more I finally found the piece that I had been looking for!
During the time when the Israelites were living in captivity in Egypt “the lamb” was considered a god (it was an Egyptian idol). After 400 years of living in the Egyptian culture many of the Jewish people had begun to accept Egyptian idols as a part of their belief system; they had abandoned the purity of ADONAI being their one and only God. But in His mercy He was breaking idolatry by asking His chosen people to take an unblemished lamb (this Egyptian “idol”) and set it aside to be sacrificed and its blood sprinkled on the doorway of every Hebrew homes. This act, which was going to be used to save the firstborn of every Jewish household, was also setting them free from the idolatry that had crept into their lives. They too, would be locked behind the doors of their homes and instructed to not go out until the “death passed by.”
This commandment to pick an unblemished lamb happened on the Sabbath prior to when the death angel would pass by the homes of the Jewish people, sparring their firstborn sons from the plague of death. Today the Jewish people remember this day and call it Shabbat HaGadol .
God has said that there is a timeframe from 4/4-4/8 to break idolatry in the church. These are places that we’ve conformed to cultural beliefs and behaviors that have replaced the pure and simple truth that is found in “the Blood of the Lamb.” I saw in my spirit many thing “added” to the purity of His blood that was shed and those things were defiling His temple; which is us.
This is an essential time to come as God’s chosen people and set apart time each of these four days to partake in communion with your entire household. Each day we will acknowledge the spotless and pure Lamb of God who, by the shedding of His blood and breaking of His body, paid the price for the sin of the world. We will partake of the pure and simple truth of our salvation and deliverance from sin.
It is the blood of Jesus that speaks a better word and has the power to save us from this plague called COVID-19. It is time to see the glory of God fill the temple (Ez. 44:4) as we fall on our faces in humility and repentance. These days of communion will prepare our hearts to be sparred from death and delivered from every form of idolatry that has crept into the church. As we are locked in our houses, just like the Jews were during that first Passover, we will once again be saved and delivered from our captivity.
It’s time to see the power of the blood of Jesus come back upon the church. It’s time to believe the old hymn we used to sing,
“Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Would you o'er evil a victory win?
There's wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-working power
In the precious blood of the Lamb
Would you be free from your passion and pride
There's power in the blood, power in the blood
Come for a cleansing to Calvary's tide
There's wonderful power in the blood
There is power, power, wonder In the blood of the Lamb
There is power, power, wonder-- working power working power In the precious blood of the Lamb
(Song by Lewis Edgar Jones , 1865-1936 ) "
The blood of Jesus is the only thing that will save us from this pandemic. It will deliver His people from idolatry and it will cause this curse to pass us by.
Will you join us as we partake in communion for four days (4/4 power in the blood and a return to the cross of Christ . 4/8)? There is power in the blood of Jesus and a return to the cross of Jesus Christ .
