You can pray like Paul prayed.
Because when your inner man is strong, the outer world loses its grip on you.
When the eyes of your heart are open, you stop being surprised by the goodness of God.
You start expecting it.
You start walking in it every single day. The four prayers are yours. The revelation is yours. The peace is yours. The inheritance is yours.
Now wake up tomorrow morning. sit on the edge of that bed and instead of wondering what to pray about, open Ephesians 1, open Ephesians 3, open Colossians 1, open Philippians 4. You'll know exactly where to start. Amen.
And this God that Authored the Bible , who's not an idol, began to make demands of His people.
I'm the true God. And if you're going to worship me and enter in a covenant with me, thou shalt have no other god before me.
I don't want anybody worshiping idols.
Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image. Thou shalt not bow down to them or serve them. You will not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy. Oh, honor thy father and mother. Amen.
Thou shalt not kill. Thou shalt not commit adultery. Thou shalt not steal. Thou shalt not bear false witness. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's house, his wife, maid servant, his ax or his ass or anything that is thy neighbour's.
As soon as people of God came out and God speaks to His people, He started making demands on them. And let me tell you, it's no different in the New Testament, when you're born again of the water and the spirit.
Yes, we're saved by grace, but we have been made a demand from that is take up your cross every day and follow after me.
Because no man can be my disciple and not take up his cross and follow after me.
Self-denial.
You see, an idol doesn't do that. That's why people like false gods because of the least amount of demands that it makes of them. People don't want to give of themselves.
But see, our God as Jesus Christ did, God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten son. He gave Himself and He demands no less of us.
Oh church, hallelujah.
Hallelujah. Thou shalt not coveret thy neighbor's house.
Colossians 3:2 says that covetousness is idolatry.
In satial desire for money, for wealth, for things.
In fact, when these people made this idol, the Bible said God wanted to disown him, but Moses, thank God, interceded and it went well and they survived.
Then in verse 24 and 25, the Bible says, "Then they did not believe His Word, but murmured."
Don't murmur. They lack faithfulness.
It was their unbelief that broke into murmuring. They started blaming God instead of themselves.
Blame Moses. You know, blame, the blame game is the language of the lost soul.
Adam and Eve.
Adam, where art thou? Who told you that you were naked?
Adam said, I was naked, I hid myself.
Adam, where art thou?
Well, because I was naked, I hid myself.
Who told you were naked?
Did you eat of the tree that I commanded you not to?
The woman. It's the woman's fault. In fact, the woman that you gave me, it's not my fault. It's the woman that you , Lord, gave me.
He was lost. Glory of God lifted.
The language of the lost is blame. Right?
But the language of the saved and the righteous is taking ownership. It's saying, "Yep, I'm a lost sinner. I'm undone. I need help. I need cleansing. I need mercy. I need forgiveness. saying, "Lord, here l am." Hallelujah.
That's accountability. That's taking yourself and and yielding yourself before God. Hallelujah. Praise God. Hallelujah.
But the bottom line is when faith gets low, murmuring gets high.
It does. So we see that for these things, the Bible says God stretched forth His hand against them. And again, verse 43, they were brought low for their iniquity.
It is the sins that brought them learned. So, what what's the takeaway?
Well, sin brings you low. It brings the family low, like Eli and his two sons. God was fed up with their immorality, particularly the sons, not so much Eli.
And New Living Translation says, "I will put an end to your family so it will no longer serve me as my priests." And not only brings a family, low, it brings a kingdom, low. Saul rebelled against God.
And in 1st Samuel 15:28, 44:35 the prophet tells, "Amen, the word of God to King Saul, the first king of Israel, he God has torn the kingdom of Israel from you this day." And in God's warning to His people as Moses for the last time in Deuteronomy, the second giving of the law, he's preaching to the people of Israel before God takes him away from them.
He says, "Thou shalt come down very low. You continue and sin." Because he in this particular segment of Deuteronomy , the first half he's talking about blessings and then there's curses here and he's and after the end of the curses, Amen.
If you disobey, if you do this. What? That displeases me, this is what's going to happen to you. And finally, close saying, you know, if you continue in sin, you shall come down very low.
Another translation says, you will sink lower and lower. Why? Because sin brings you down low.
Don't you pet that sin that you're nurturing. Deal with it as something that that is deadly.
And we need to look at sin the way God does. When He talks about sin and sinners, you look at dross, he calls it dross and chaff and a pot boiling with scum.
That's the way God looks at sin. Sinners that is backsliding going back.
Second Peter 2:22 talks about the dog that's turning to his vomit again and the swine that was washed, in her wallowing in the mire.
I don't want to go back in my sin. I don't want to go back and eat vomit. I don't want to go back in my pre-Christian days. I don't want to go around drunk. I don't want to go around high. I don't want to go saying things, you know, that are not pleasing to God.
Do you understand that when you're on drugs abuse and alcohol abuse, the Bible says that leads to excess? When you are high on something, it leads you to do something that you normally would not do. Young people, don't you get attracted by that? There's a lot of people out there, a lot of commercials advertising beer and wine and all kinds of stuff. Even drugs, some are now prescription drugs that you can get. Don't fall for that junk. It leads you to do things that you would normally not do if you were sober or if you were not under that influence.
And you have a choice in the matter. You have a choice in the matter.
Matthew 23:33. Oh, Bible calls this a serpent and a sinner is worse because God put 47:21 poison in a serpent. But the devil puts sin in the sinner.
Acts 5:3 Ananias a fire. They be before the elders of the church. Peter at the top.
They're being asked, "Did you really sell the property for amount of money?" It was a financial prompting question. And they lied. They lied.
And Peter speaks to Ananias and Sapphira. "Why hath Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Ghost?"
The devil does that. And when he does that, he also darkens your understanding.
Why? Why does sin bring a person low? It brings a person low because it ravages the mind. It ravages your will and your affections.
The prophet Isaiah exhorts a backslid in Israel in Isaiah 1:5-6.
Listen to this. What an incredible evaluation.
Why would you be stricken anymore? You will revolt more and more. The whole head is sick. The whole heart faint from the sole of the foot, even to the head.
There's no soundness in it, but wounds, bruises, and putrifying sores.
They have not been closed, neither bound up, neither mullified with ointment.
The prophet speaking, God speaking through him says, "You're a walking diseased sick person.
You're sick.
Are you happy being sick?" He said,
"Well, and you can do something about it. You're walking around with open sores. You're sin sick."
So sin is that, is what it does to it. It's a disease. and sin. When a sinner is walking before God, he's at war with God.
Ephesians 2:3 says that by nature before we became children of God, we were children of wrath even as others. Whenever God looked at us, His anger stirred in HIM. It's only His grace and His love that keeps from destroying us because He said, "Well, I love him, but if I kill him, how can I save him?"
Colossians 1:21, "And you that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath He reconciled."
You know, we were alienated. A lot of times we get alienated from God, right here in our thinking. That's where it begins.
That's why the Proverbs is right. As a man thinkketh, so he is. What are you thinking about God? What have you been thinking about in the last couple days?
What is your mind focusing on? Is it pleasing unto the Lord?
Well, if it's not, you ought to consider Philippians 4:8. It says, "Think on these things, the good things, the good report." So, a sinner is at war with God and his mind.
And when our mind is not aligned with the Word of God, we're going to do our sinful works, what the flesh desires, not doing the thoughts of God.
So, a sinner is at war with God. And I think we've got to strain out. Hallelujah. This is why you see the the the Apostle Paul speaks to the church in
50:57 Romans 12:1. He says, "Be not conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind."
51:08 We've got to renew our mind by the word of God. and the good thing the good principles I'm coming close closely to a finish
