How and Why to
Prevent AGE Damage

Advanced glycation endproducts (AGEs) may be a
fact of life, but fighting them may extend your life.

f we may be so bold, which would you rather have and hold—GOLD or MOLD? OK, it’s a trick question (please don’t scold), because if truth be told, you wouldn’t want either—they’d leave you cold if you knew they were both about . . . old.
Old people, you see, are the victims of AGE—Advanced Glycation Endproducts, of which GOLD and MOLD are two prominent examples. The acronyms stand for glyoxallysine dimer and methylglyoxallysine dimer, respectively, but don’t worry—there won’t be a quiz on that. It would be wise, however, for you to become better informed about AGE (or AGEs, as they’re often called), because these chemical compounds are a key factor in the aging process.
As you will see, AGEs are formed inside your body through normal metabolism and aging, and outside your body during the preparation of some foods you eat. They’re implicated in the development or exacerbation of numerous degenerative diseases associated with aging, notably type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, cardiovascular disease, Alzheimer’s and other dementias, cataracts, retinal dysfunction, kidney failure, nerve damage, arthritis, and cancer.
Supplements Can Slow AGEing
It’s impossible, alas, to avoid AGEs altogether—their formation begins during early embryonic development and continues steadily for the rest of our lives. The body’s mechanisms for removing unwanted substances cannot keep up, because the AGEs are resistant to this process. Therefore, even if every other factor in the aging process could be magically eliminated, it would still be impossible to avoid aging. The good news, however, is that the “AGEing” process can be slowed down—and so, therefore, can the aging process. There are two ways to do this. Ideally, we should do both.
One way to slow AGEing involves the use of certain supplements that have been shown—in laboratory experiments, animal studies, or human clinical trials—to inhibit the formation of AGEs. Notable in this regard are: benfotiamine, a fat-soluble form of thiamine (vitamin B1); the amino acid histidine; the dipeptidecarnosine, which consists of linked histidine and beta-alanine; alpha-lipoic acid, a saturated fatty acid renowned for its potent and versatile antioxidant actions; and rutin, a flavonoid found in many plants, notably buckwheat, black tea, and apple skins.*

No! Nooo!
The other way to slow AGEing is to (are you sitting down?) avoid, as much as possible, browning the foods that you cook. Just as the colors red, orange, yellow, blue, and purple are usually signs of exceptional healthfulness in fruits and vegetables (these colors come mostly from flavonoids), the color brown should be considered a “red flag” warning ofunhealthfulness in the crusts of bakery products and in meats or vegetables that have been baked, roasted, broiled, grilled, fried, sautéed, etc. It’s better for your health to steam, boil, or stew the meats and veggies.1
I can hear you now: “No! Nooo!” I know, I knooow. Forgoing the most delicious preparation methods seems almost insane—like giving up sweets. But it does have its rewards: better health and longer life.

A Prediction Ignored, Then Verified

To understand AGEs (about which there is much confusion in the popular literature), we need to go back a century, to prewar Paris. In 1912, a young French physician and chemist named Louis Camille Maillard (Mah·YAHR) began investigating the chemical reactions between nutrient sugars (such as glucose and fructose) and amino acids, the building blocks of proteins.
When Maillard heated aqueous solutions of sugars and amino acids for a few hours, they turned a yellow-brown color, the result of a series of reactions that yielded a witches’ brew of products. Significantly, the same phenomenon occurred, albeit much more slowly, when he simply allowed the solutions to sit for a few weeks under physiological conditions (37ºC, pH 7.4).
Maillard had discovered a series of complex and important chemical reactions that now bear his name:Maillard reactions. He predicted that they would occur in the human body, especially in diabetic patients because of their chronically high glucose (blood sugar) levels. This prophetic insight went unnoticed for half a century, however, and he did not live to see it realized.
In 1971, scientists investigating the blood of diabetic patients discovered that some of the hemoglobin wasglycated. Glycation—the first step in the Maillard reactions—is the chemical attachment of a sugar molecule (either free or bound in a polysaccharide, such as starch) to an amino acid (either free or bound in a protein, such as hemoglobin). As the ensuing reactions advance through numerous complex stages, they can lead to a great variety of endproducts, most of which are harmful to us. These are the “advanced glycation endproducts” we now call AGEs.
AGEs Make Diabetes a Kind of Accelerated Aging
The sugar of greatest importance to us is glucose, because it’s the principal product of carbohydrate digestion, and it’s our principal fuel for energy metabolism. Glucose is among the least reactive of the nutrient sugars in the Maillard reactions. This may have led, through natural selection, to its being the evolutionarily favored sugar in mammalian species.2,3
The glycation reactivity of fructose (fruit sugar), on the other hand, is about ten times higher than that of glucose. Fructose is found in honey and many fruits, and it’s also one-half of the sucrose (table sugar) molecule, the other half being glucose. The exceptional propensity of fructose to produce AGEs is another reason why we (diabetics especially) should minimize our intake of sucrose and high-fructose corn syrup.
Because diabetics tend to have higher glucose levels than nondiabetics, they also have higher AGE levels at any given age, compared with nondiabetic individuals. And because AGEs form earlier in life and more rapidly in these patients, diabetes can be thought of as an accelerated form of aging. Much evidence suggests that AGEs are involved in almost all the complications of diabetes, which arise from damage to blood vessels throughout the body.4
AGEs—A Haphazard Process
Unlike most biologically important reactions, which are catalyzed by enzymes, glycation is not catalyzed. It’s a nonenzymatic version of a common and necessary biochemical process calledglycosylation, which is tightly controlled as to the time, place, and extent of its occurrence. The lack of enzymatic control over the glycation process means that this reaction can occur haphazardly—anytime, anywhere, to an extent limited only by the availability of the reactants—and it does, with generally harmful results that tend to accumulate over time.
Now you get the picture: there’s nothing to restrain glucose from reacting with amino acids and proteins, which are everywhere in the body. Since we can’t live without glucose, we can’t avoid AGEs—but we can slow down their formation. Another bit of good news is that not all glucose will react similarly with all proteins (of which there are about 25,000 different kinds in humans)—the extent of the reaction depends on a myriad of factors that can vary greatly throughout the body. But, as we saw above, the list of “hot spots” is large, and the long-term consequences are horrendous.
Most AGEs Are Incredibly Yummy
So much for the AGEs that form in our bodies as a result of normal metabolism. What about the ones we ingest with our food? Isn’t it adding insult to injury to eat the very kinds of compounds we’re trying to minimize the formation of in our bodies? Of course it is, but if you’re the kind of person who likes food, you probably love dietary AGEs (which should be called DAGEs), because they happen to be among the tastiest compounds known. (This is another of Ma Nature’s cruel jokes at our expense.)
It’s no accident that many AGEs are found in commercial food flavorings designed to make all kinds of foods taste even better, as though they’d been browned. (The Maillard reactions are, in fact, the basis of the flavoring industry.) Nor is it an accident that the bits of browned stuff left over in the frying or roasting pan, which celebrity chef Emeril Lagasse calls “yum-yums,” are yummy because of the Maillard browning, which is the principal source of DAGEs.
Oh, What a Tangled Web Maillard Wove
Over 1000 DAGEs are currently known, and there are probably many more. They’re the products of Maillard reactions occurring under dry conditions at temperatures above about 120ºC (248ºF). The tangled web of chemical reactions is so complex that many chemists have spent their whole lives trying to unravel it. The caramelization (browning) of sugar, by the way, may appear to be a Maillard-type process, but it’s not—the chemistry is entirely different.
In books on the chemistry of cooking, the Maillard reactions are portrayed in a good light because of the gustatory wonders they produce. Chefs love them, naturally, and they’re not about to commit professional suicide by shunning them just because some scientists recommend it. In any case, the books claim that the Maillard reactions occur only with high, dry heat, not at the lower temperatures involved in cooking with water, where the maximum is 100ºC (212ºF). That may be true in the kitchen, where time scales are usually very short, but in real life, as Maillard himself showed, the process does occur—very slowly—even under cool, wet conditions.
You Are So Cool (and Wet)
Not to get too personal, but your body, compared with an oven or barbeque, is rather cool and wet, and the Maillard reactions will proceed, slowly but surely, for all the days of your life. You could, however, resist this slow tide by taking antiglycating supplements every day.
And given a choice between eating browned foods that are high in Maillard products, or water-cooked foods that have virtually none . . . well, that too is a choice that only you can make. (Let’s hope the federal health police don’t someday try to make it for you.)
AGEs Large and Small
There are hundreds of known, naturally occurring AGEs produced by the Maillard reactions in our bodies. Some of these are very large molecules produced by the chemical cross-linking—induced by sugars—of proteins that were never intended to be linked. This produces a kind of cellular “gunk,” which in principle is not unlike the crud that builds up in your car’s engine over time. In both cases, performance is impaired, and the system can be brought to a premature halt if suitable measures are not taken.
One example of the slow damage due to cross-linking is the gradual stiffening of the protein collagen, which is the principal component of our connective tissue and cartilage. The resulting loss of tissue elasticity can occur in the heart, blood vessels, skin, eyes, kidneys, joints, etc., with results that older people know all too well.
Many other AGEs are relatively small degradation products of the Maillard reactions, and some of these contain a reactive chemical group called the carbonyl group, R2C=O. [The carbonyl is the C=O part; the two Rs can be almost anything but hydrogen atoms, as, e.g., in acetone, (CH3)2C=O, which contains two methyl groups.]
Carbonyl compounds are common in organic chemistry, and many of them instigate harmful chemical reactions in living organisms. In fact, the glycation reaction that begins the Maillard process involves a carbonyl group on the sugar molecule reacting with the amino group of an amino acid. The spectrum of damage caused by carbonyl compounds is calledcarbonyl stress. It’s analogous to the oxidative stress caused by reactive oxygen species, including free radicals.
AGEs of a sort can also be formed, by the way, by the reactions of sugars or other reactive carbonyl compounds with two other important types of biological molecules: lipids (fats) and nucleic acids (DNA and RNA). These AGEs too are deleterious to our health.

Super Power of Spirit Spoken Word

FOREWORD

Soong See Choo teaches Healthy Wealth in Internet for many years. His blogs are well read and in that way he is the means of bringing the message to a considerable number of people.

His blogs have had a wide circulation not only in one nation but worldwide. They seem to have a knack of finding their way to remote and unexpected places in Russia and other parts of the world. Now and again we meet someone who came into Truth through finding a SoongWorld's blog-post in the most improbable location.

One secret of his success is that he is always himself . . . colloquial, informal, friendly, and humorous. He never sought to be literary, conventional, or impressive. For this reason he appealed to thousands who would not have taken the spiritual message through the more conservative and dignified forms, or have been willing to read . . . at least in the beginning . . . the standard metaphysical sources.

He himself is very spiritual, although this was usually hidden behind a matter of fact and carefree treatment of his subject. The technical or academic approach was not for him. He shares understandings by familiar, practical, and everyday examples.

He leaves a collection of notes and memoranda which have been made into the present blog-post. May it have a wide circulation.

WEAPONS YE KNOW NOT OF

"I have weapons ye know not of!; I have ways ye know not of! I have channels ye know not of! Mysterious weapons, mysterious ways, mysterious channels! For God works in mysterious ways His wonders to perform." The trouble with most people is that they want to know the way and the channels beforehand. They want to tell Supreme Intelligence just how their prayers should be answered. They do not trust the wisdom and ingenuity of God. They pray, giving Infinite Intelligence definite directions how to work, thereby limiting the Holy One of Israel.


Jesus Christ said: "When ye pray, believe ye have it." What could be more simple or direct? "Become as a little child if you would enter the kingdom." We might paraphrase the scriptures and say, have the expectancy of a little child and your prayers will be answered. A child waits with joyful expectancy for his toys at Christmas. I give the illustration of the little boy who asked for a drum for Christmas. The child does not lie awake at night agonizing over his drum wondering whether he will get it. He goes to bed and sleeps like a top. He jumps out of bed in the morning ready for the happy day before him. He looks with wonder at that which is before him.

The grown-up person spends sleepless nights agonizing over his problem. Instead of a drum, he has spoken for a large sum of money. He can't think of any way it can come, and will it come on time? He will tell you he has perfect faith in God, but, he would like to know more about the channel and how it is to be done. The answer comes, "I have weapons ye know not of." "My ways are ingenious, my methods are sure."

"Trust in me, commit your ways unto me." Committing your ways unto the Lord seems very difficult to most people. It means, of course, to follow intuition, for intuition is the magic path, the beeline to your demonstration. Intuition is a Spiritual faculty above the intellect. It is the "still small voice" commonly called a hunch, which says, "This is the way, walk ye in it." I refer to intuition very often for it is the most important part of Spiritual development. It is Divine Guidance. It is the God within, it is the eye which watches over Israel and never slumbers or sleeps. With it, nothing is unimportant. Acknowledge me in all your ways and I will make plain your path. Remember — despise not the day of small things (of seemingly unimportant events).

It is very difficult for a person who has always followed the reasoning mind, to suddenly follow intuition, especially people who have, what they call, regular habits. They are accustomed to doing the same thing every day at the same time.

Meals like clockwork. They get up at a certain time and go to bed at a certain time. Any deviation upsets them.

We have the power of choice — we may follow the magic path of intuition, or the long and hard road of experience, by following the reasoning mind. By following the superconscious we attain the heights. In the intuition, are the pictures of eternal youth and eternal life, where death itself is overcome. We have the power to impress the subconscious mind with the picture of Eternal youth and Eternal life. The subconscious, being simply power without direction, carries out the idea, and we have our bodies transmuted into the body which can never die. We see this idea partly expressed in the moving picture "The Lost Horizon." Shangrila was a symbolic picture of the "World of the Wondrous," where all conditions are perfect.


There is a Spiritual prototype of your body and affairs. I call it the Divine Design and this Divine Design is a Perfect Idea in your superconscious mind. Most people are far from expressing the Divine Idea of their bodies and affairs. They have stamped the contrary pictures of disease, old age and death upon the subconscious, and it has carefully carried out their orders. Now we must give a new order; "Let me now express the Divine Idea in my mind, body and affairs." If you will impress the subconscious by repeating this statement you will be amazed at the changes which soon take place. You will be bombarded by new ideas and new ideals. A chemical change will take place in your body. Your environment will change for the better, for you are expanding rapidly into the Divine Plan, where all conditions are permanently perfect.

"Lift up your heads, ye gates, and be ye lifted up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of Glory shall come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord (or Law) strong and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle."

Now remember, the Bible is talking about thoughts and states of consciousness. Here is a picture of the Perfect Ideas of the superconscious mind, rushing into your conscious mind. Gates and doors are lifted up, and "The King of Glory comes in." "Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty. The Lord mighty in battle." This King of Glory has weapons ye know not of and puts to flight the army of the aliens (the negative thoughts entrenched in your consciousness for countless ages). These negative thoughts have always defeated the manifestation of your heart's desire. They are the thought forms which you have built up in your subconscious by constantly thinking the same thoughts. You have built up a fixed idea that "Life is hard and filled with disappointments." You will meet these thoughts as concrete experiences in life, for "Out of the imaginations of the heart come the issues of life."

"My ways are ways of pleasantness." We should all build up in consciousness a picture of peace, harmony and beauty and some day it will push itself into visibility. The Divine Idea of your life often flashes across your consciousness as something too good to be true. Very few people fulfill their destinies. Destiny means the place you were destined to fill. We are fully equipped for the Divine Plan of our lives. We are more than equal to every situation. If we could get the realization back of these words doors would fly open and channels be cleared. We could actually hear the hum of Divine activity, for we would be linked with Infinite Intelligence which knows no defeat. Opportunities would come to us from unexpected quarters. Divine activity would operate in and through all our affairs and the Divine Idea would come to pass.

God is Love but God is Law, "If ye love me, keep my commandments" (or laws). Dr. Ernest Wilson told me that his first knowledge of Truth came through reading Emerson's "Concentration." Concentration means loving absorption. We see children lovingly absorbed in their play. We can only be a success in a line which interests us greatly. Great inventors are never bored with their work, or they would not bring forth great inventions. Never try to force a child to be something he does not want to be. He will only prove a failure. The first start toward success is to be glad you are yourself. So many people are bored by themselves. They have no self-reliance, and are always wishing they were someone else.

When I was in London I saw a man on the street selling a new song, it was called, "I'm tickled to death I'm me." I thought that was a wonderful idea—start out by being glad you are yourself. Then you can expand rapidly into the Divine plan of your life where you fulfill your destiny. You may be sure that the Divine plan of your life will give you perfect satisfaction. You will no longer envy anyone. People often become impatient and discouraged. I was inspired by reading in the paper about Omaha, the famous racehorse. The article said, "Omaha has to run a mile before he gets into his stride." There are, no doubt, a lot of Omahas in the world, but they can get into their Spiritual stride, and win the race, in the twinkling of an eye.

"Delight thyself also in the Lord, and He shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Delight thyself in the law and it will give to thee the desires of thine heart. "Delighting yourself in the law" means to enjoy making a demonstration. To enjoy trusting God, means to be happy in following your intuitive leads. Most people say, "Oh dear; I've got to demonstrate money again;" or "Oh dear, my hunches make me so nervous, I haven't the nerve to follow them." People enjoy playing golf and tennis, why can't we enjoy playing the game of life? It is because we are playing with unseen forces. With golf or tennis they have balls they can see and a goal which is visible to the naked eye; but how much more important is this game of life? The goal is the Divine plan of your life where all conditions are permanently perfect.

"In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He will make plain thy paths." Every moment we can link with intuition, will give us as definite a lead as a signpost. So many people are leading such complicated lives because they are trying to think things out instead of "intuiting" the way out.

I know a woman who says she has a thorough knowledge of Truth and its application but the minute she has a problem she reasons and weighs and measures the situation. It is never solved. Intuition flies out of the window when reason comes to the door. Intuition is a Spiritual faculty, the superconscious, and never explains itself. There came a voice before me, saying, "This is the way, walk ye in it." Someone asked me if the reasoning mind was ever any good. The reasoning mind must be redeemed. Trust in Spiritual law and "it will be given you."

Your part is to be a good receiver, prepare for your blessing, rejoice and give thanks and it will come to pass.

According to science, there’s a difference between chronological age and biological age, which means you can be 50 years old and literally have a body of a 40 year old. Look, I’m not one to judge by looks alone, but as far as anti-aging is concerned I’m taking advice from people that look the part and live the part…
Now, here are the 3 WORST mistakes you must AVOID if you want to slow the aging process and increase your metabolism to burn fat, boost your youth enhancing hormones to get more energy & stamina, and build a lean, strong, healthy body:

1. Cardio

Too much cardio can make you age FASTER
Too many people think that cardio is the answer to everything related to weight-loss and fat-loss.  And although cardio can be helpful (if done properly), it does nothing to slow the aging process.  In fact, it does the exact opposite!.  Doing long frequent cardio sessions will break down your muscles and increase the production of free radicals.  These free radicals are nasty little things that damage the cells in your body and accelerate aging.
Don’t worry if you’re concerned about your heart health.  There is a much more effective way to improve your cardiovascular health, which I’ll cover in just a minute.  And here’s the best part: it takes only 1/3 the time of a conventional cardio workout AND it also triggers your youth enhancing hormones instead of those nasty free radicals that age you faster!

2.  A Low-Fat Diet

It’s hard to believe that “low-fat” is still a dietary recommendation because science has proven that fat is not the cause of weight gain or heart disease.  In fact, since the introduction of the fat-free diet, the world has gotten more fat and sick than it has ever been before.

3. Yoga

What To Do Next

I think I maintained a reasonably good fitness level until about 9 years ago. “What happened 9 years ago?”, I hear you ask… Well…I got married.  
Yep, and physically (and I stress “physically” and almost nothing else) things started going south for me from then on. My training became less frequent and my diet went out the window. Weight crept up on me and before I knew it I was obese (according to my BMI).
Over the past 9 years, I’ve tried to get back to where I was. I mostly tried to do it on my own without reference to anything except my own past experience. Although I was using the same workouts that I had learnt, I was training harder than before I got married. But that didn’t work. There was something fundamentally wrong with what I was doing and I couldn’t work it out. I was struggling.
My feet and joints hurt. I remembered before when I was in shape, my feet didn’t hurt. I missed that. I missed that feeling so much. The feeling of being light on your feet and being able to do things…

I am 46 years old and have always been reasonably fit. I really enjoy running. I have tried all sorts of weight training in the past and have spent a fair amount of money on things and supplements that did not work.
You need to know that I am a “skinny” guy and I believe what is known in the fitness world as a “hard gainer”. Putting on the right kind of weight has always been my goal. Every single other programmme I have tried, I have ended up with just about the same measurements except I always gain a fat and bulging stomach – which is really annoying.
However Shin’s programme has helped me achieve results I could never have imagined.  I have nearly doubled my dumbbell weights since starting and can squat an extra 45 lbs on day 90 compared to day 1.
I am now feeling the fittest I have for many years and I am finally and consistently be adding muscle to my now not-so-skinny frame. Just one further positive example is that I went skiing (I live in beautiful Slovakia) when I was only 6 weeks in to the programme. Prior to starting the MAX workouts programme, I didn’t realise how much my overall fitness had steadily and declined over the past 5 to 10 years. I’ve always actively tried to maintain what I would call a ‘baseline’ level of fitness by doing conventional gym work i.e. isolated weights exercises on multigym type machines combined with conventional cardio.
Over the past few years I have been working out at home before going to work; first using a treadmill and then (after it broke!) I bought an elliptical trainer.  I managed to consistently perform about four to five 40min sessions per week on these machines over these two years. However, although I saw some definite improvements, I seemed to have reached a personally unnaceptable plateau, which I couldn’t improve on without devoting too much time to fitness in an already hectic lifestyle (3 very young children, full time job and studying part time for an MSc.)
I intuitively knew that the intensity of my fitness regime needed to increase to turn things round and start to deliver results. Unfortunately, how to achieve the necessary levels of intensity in a structured and progressive programme was a complete mystery to me. I naturally presumed this would require a personal trainer, lots of time and money (i.e. things I don’t have!).

I started the MAX Workouts 90 program back in July.  I followed it to the T and have never been happier with the results.  In the past I just made things up as I went with little or no results.  I worked out 6 days a week for up to 1 hour a day and just got more frustrated because I had nothing to show for it.

I’m a busy cardiologist always telling patients how important diet and physical activity are but actually I never truly believed it was possible to reach such a result within a few months (or ever). I used to work out 3 times a week, but without a coach I mostly ended up doing one hour of low training cardio…which meant knee and low back pain and no workout. I really was at a loose end.
I ran into this program in the internet and I immediately got intrigued by the solid scientific explanation of each statement. I’m a doctor, I can recognize solid scientific evidence.
Well, I tried and it’s been 3 months now, at the very end of my 90 day program. What can I say…I just do not recognize myself in the mirror! I mean, come on, in three months! This is a program for life because it’s realistic and hard work but it is easy maintainable.

After having 2 children I have been riding the roller coaster of gaining weight and losing weight and then gaining weight again. I have never been able to maintain my goal weight for a very long period. I will gain weight gradually and before I know it I will be back where I started.
Completing the MAX workouts 90 day program made me realize I can still achieve my goals. I have lost 9kg and 31cm. I feel that this program has gotten me stronger than I have ever been! I'm so ecstatic to lift weights now and could care less about long hours of cardio!

I’ve been working out forever (or at least it feels that way).  Just in the past 4 years I had my third & last boy.  I’ve been working out religiously 5-6 times a week (tons of cardio).  I’ve even ran 3 half marathons and 3 mudruns.  I quickly realized I was so burned out from doing long hours of cardio, not losing weight, not getting stronger or toning, feeling aches and pains and of course running out of time in my day.

When I started the 90 day program I couldn’t do a single push-up.  Not on my knees, not in my dreams.  I had never lifted anything beyond a pink dumbbell of 5 lb, I’d never attempted a pull up and my version of squats were more like taking a slight dip at the knees.  Yet I kept with the exercises, no matter how they scared me at first, I tried, and tried.  By the end of the 1st 3 weeks, I was doing knee push-ups!  Things started changing as I got stronger and I found less need to substitute exercises.  Next I found myself wanting to push myself even further - incredible.  And at the end of 90 days I had lost 35lbs.

Like most people I was yo-yo dieter and exerciser for most of my life.  In the last three years I even stopped going to the gym, stopped doing yoga which all of it I did when I was younger.  As I progressively got fatter I simply didn’t have energy to exercise, and got myself in a vicious circle.
When I hit 62 I noticed that flab was taking over…I realized that even eating healthily will not stop the flab as we get older and decided to look into weight training.  So I decided to try your program which appealed to me on many levels.

I am a full time professional belly dancer and instructor.  Before my husband and I had a motorbike accident I was pretty much in shape and happy with my weight.  Unfortunately this event did a little bit of damage to my left hip and limited my ability to do a lot of movements and dance training.  For approximately one year I had to reduce the amount of teaching, show performances and exercising.  This unfortunately sent me on a spiral of depression and the weight gain began.

This year is another busy one for me with my oldest son graduating from high school and going off to Marine Corps Boot Camp and my daughter getting married in June.  Lots of wonderful blessings & craziness, and I want to look my best.  Thankfully, I joined MAX Workouts and it couldn’t have come at a better time!  I got prepared for it, took my before pictures and measurements and started eating healthy once again.
It was a phenomenal experience!  I lost 10 lbs and 11 ½ inches off my entire body!  I was wearing a size 8/10 and I’m now down to a size 4/5.  My clothes are falling off me, my health has improved, I have more energy, lower body fat %, increase muscle and strength, and I feel fantastic!
This program is effective, since the exercises are short high intensity workouts that allow me to burn calories well after my workouts.  It’s perfect for me, since I don’t have a lot of time.  Thank you for putting me back on track.  I’m enjoying trying on clothes for the wedding!

When all said and done this program didn't just change my body, it changed my life, and how I feel about myself.

A few months after giving birth to my second child, every time I looked in the mirror while getting dressed, I would cringe.  I was disgusted with the way I looked, and felt as if I would never be able to be satisfied with my body.  We’re a young family, with two children.  We recently purchased our first home, and in order for us to do so we had to cut back on a lot of our spending.  We didn’t have the money for a gym membership, let alone the time for me to go.

After 12 weeks of dedicating myself and having faith in the process of MAX Workouts, I can now say that any doubt I had is gone.  This program works, and my transformation is complete proof of that.  Even before I had my children, I have never been able to wear a bikini and feel 100% confident with how I looked in it.  After going through this transformation, watching my body not only lose weight, but getting tight and toned, I can’t wait until I get the chance to rock my bikini at the beach!

I lost 3 kg in the first 2 weeks. This was unheard of! Over the past 20 years I hadn’t managed to lose ANY weight even though I was exercising more than anybody I knew!

I turned 40 this year.  I have never been really fat, but for most of my life I have been trying to lose weight.  I knew all about eating healthy and have tried various food regiments, including eating macrobiotic, vegetarian, vegan and raw.
In the past few years I also started exercising more, doing a lot of aerobics, exercise machine training and lately running.  At one point I was running one hour every day, which brought on problems with my back, but never made me lose one gram of fat!  I was working so hard, but to no avail. I was frustrated.

I'm in better shape now than before my pregnancy!

I started the program when I realized I was really overweight because my clothes started not to fit, my belly was too big, I wasn’t identifying myself in the pictures and the people started to ask me if I was pregnant again.  Before I started I had worked for one year in a very stressful job, many hours per day, with shifts by night, so I got used to eating a lot of bread, crisps or pasta when I arrived home.  I also had a daughter in 2009, and all the people was blaming that, saying that it was my pregnancy fault, but I knew it wasn’t true.
When I started, I could barely lift 4.5kg dumbbells but at the end I was lifting 9kg dumbbells.  And I went from a size 40 or 38 for trousers and medium for tops and I finished with a size 34 and an extra small tops.  In total, I lost 14 pounds (6.3 kg) and 11 inches (28 cm) off my waist, hips and thighs.  And I’m in better shape now than before my pregnancy!

I now have lots of energy and look forward to working out everyday!

I am constantly battling the weight roller coaster!  I am a single mom of two and I not only want to keep fit, but I want to condition my children this way so they will never have to battle the weight game in life.
I’ve worked out forever, it feels like, but have yet to see the difference in my body.  I feel like I workout for nothing.  Legs are still flabby, no shape or definition to them what so ever.  I really want to wear a two piece bikini and wear it well.  I want to tone and define my body before I’m 40 and keep it like that way too.
One thing MAX Workouts taught me was to change my workouts I started adding intervals to my 3 mile runs.  With my workout changes I noticed my transformation coming.  I was good with eating but the messages from MAX Workouts helped me stay focus when it came to my eating habits.  I now have lots of energy and look forward to working out everyday!

What I love about this workout is that I can do it in 30 min and still got the rest of the day off!

After I had my second child (4 months ago) I gained 14 Kg and I was feeling really bad about it.  I decided to do something different and drastic to recover my shape.  I never was really active but after my first child (which was 3 years ago) I changed my way of eating and started to do exercise every day.  So before I got pregnant again I was in good shape and happy about my look,
After this second pregnancy I realized that I had to do it all over again!  When I ran into MAX Workouts site I knew that that was what I had to do to get back in shape. After a while the results start happening and I was really glad!  I lost 6 Kg in 12 weeks.
What I love about this workout is that I can do my daily workout only in 30 min and still got the rest of the day off!  Otherwise I knew that after working, taking care of the children, cooking and cleaning the house…..there will be no time for me!
