Lemon detox diet recipe

In recent years, knowledge about how to better care for one’s body has been disseminated at an astounding rate. What’s more is that people now seem more interested in keeping themselves healthy, even when it involves the process of cutting back on things that they used to indulge in. The Lemon Detox Diet Recipe is perhaps the single most popular health trend that has made a substantial impact on the lives of many people. This diet has become the subject of so many discussions not only among laymen but also among health professionals themselves who intend to prove (or disprove) the merits of Lemon Detox.

Those who have already decided to try this diet should very well be aware of how it works and how the diet is done.

Purpose

Lemon detox diet recipe

It is rather surprising that while many people are aware of this detox plan, very few actually have a working understanding as to the goal of the Lemon Diet. For all intents and purposes, this cleansing program aims to rid the body of toxins and free radicals that destroy healthy cells and are responsible for a wide range of degenerative diseases.

Many have the misguided notion that the Lemon Diet Recipe is solely intended as a weight loss method. It is important to note that while you can lose a significant amount of weight as a result of undergoing detox, it is merely a positive side effect as opposed to the primarily benefit.

One of the most important purposes of this diet is to reduce, if not completely eliminate the accumulation of waste in the digestive tract. People have no idea just how much toxic substances are left in the colon as well as the intestine as a result of poor diet and a generally unhealthy lifestyle. The lemon diet drink acts like a liquid brush that scrapes off the waste in order to allow the digestive system to function at an optimal level once again. Ingredients

Another great thing about the Lemonade Diet is that it requires very few ingredients- just four in fact. All you need to do the lemon cleanse diet are the following:
  • Freshly Squeezed Lemon Juice
  • Organic Maple Syrup
  • Cayenne Pepper
  • Pure Water
The lemon juice acts as the main replacement for all your meals. Since this detox diet requires the elimination of solid food for a week or so (minimum), it is necessary to replace it with something else that would allow the body to function more or less normally.
The juice has to be freshly squeezed each time (daily dose) for better results. It would also be good to use organic lemons since they are cultivated naturally and are devoid of any fertilizer chemicals.

The maple syrup, apart from being the drink sweetener, it also helps eliminate toxins from the body. Keep in mind that you will need an organic and rich maple syrup. There are so many artificially flavored syrups on the market today that customers have to be very discerning shoppers especially when they need very specific ingredients.

The cayenne pepper is the kicker ingredient (quite literally) that is necessary to achieve the goal of the detox plan. Cayenne pepper contains substances that allow the body to burn off more calories from fat as well as cleanse the colon and intestinal walls thoroughly. This ingredient forces all the waste materials out of the body by way of bowel movements until the digestive system regains status quo.

The pure water (use distilled not mineral water) ensures that all the three other ingredients as mixed together well. Be sure to use only pure water because impurities can negate any positive effects the recipe can provide.

The cleansing program also calls for the use of laxatives as well as saltwater flush. However, for purposes of the lemonade diet drink, you will only need the four ingredients mentioned above.

How to Make It

You have the option of making the detox drink by glass or by batch (liter), depending on which is more convenient. The instructions for making the lemonade recipe are as follows:

Per Glass:

  • 20 ml of organic maple syrup
  • 20-30 ml of lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
  • 1/10 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (or more if you can handle it)
  • 250 ml of pure or distilled water

Per Batch (2 liters)

  • 140 ml of organic rich maple syrup
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice from 3-4 lemons
  • 2-3 pinches of cayenne pepper (or more depending on your tolerance)
  • 1700ml of pure or distilled water
Be sure to mix all the ingredients well before drinking so it goes down smoothly. In addition, making the drink by batch (2 liters at a time) is more convenient since it can be stored in the fridge the entire day. This is more ideal than making the drink one glass at a time especially if you are a busy professional who spends 8 hours or more at work.

How Often Should You Drink It?

The amount of lemonade drink you should consume depends largely on what detox mode you are currently in. There are three different cleanse modes to choose from, and they are as follows:

Full Body Cleanse

This is the most intense detox mode, which requires the complete elimination of solid food from your diet. In order to compensate, you must drink at least two liters of the lemonade drink each day for the duration of the cleanse timeframe. Drinking more than 2 liters is highly recommended for those who are suffering from severe hunger pangs, which can be expected within the first few days.

Relaxed Version

This mode allows for a hearty lunch and about 2-3 glasses of the cleanse liquid for breakfast and dinner. You can drink more during the day if you plan to have a light lunch.

Half and Half or 50:50

You are to drink 2 full liters or more of the lemon diet drink for 3 straight days then 2-3 glasses for breakfast and dinner for the next 3 days. This is followed by another 3 days of consuming 2 liters or more of the same drink. This mode is sometimes referred to as The Switch since it allows the body some breathing room as opposed to delving deep into the diet, which can be a tad overwhelming for novices.

The lemon cleansing plan is definitely one you should try at least once. The first few days may be challenging but the rewards are more than worth the slight inconvenience.
