Thinking about 2017

You Know better there is actually no better time to regroup, refocus and to start thinking about 2017.

What are your goals for the coming year? For many people, these goals include financial motivations. If you want to finally get wealthy in 2017, here are five ways you can actually do it.

1. Work for your dreams, not someone else’s.
If you really want to start making money and finally be wealthy in 2017 then you need to do something that you are truly passionate about. Without this passion, you are never going to reach your full earning potential. Focus on doing what you love and what you are passionate about, not just something that happens to be in a highly paid field.

Really ask yourself and dig deep to think about what you can see yourself becoming obsessed with. Obsession is the key to true success and it can lead you to real wealth. As real, lasting wealth is not just about money.

2. Dream big but start small.

Everyone wants big success fast but it’s better to go slowly. Optimize your process first before you try to go big. Take my top student, Tim as an example. He started stock trading with just $1,500, grew it to $1 million in three years and then over $3.3 million in four years. He bets bigger now that he is more confident, thanks to his early education. He is one of my favorite examples of starting small and working your way up slowly to something much more.

3. Give to others instead of yourself.

Most people find this tough to do, but trust me, you can only have so many Lamborghinis and Ferraris and Porsches. Trust me, as someone who has had all three, they are not as fulfilling as giving back to charities, such as my Timothy Sykes Foundation is infinitely more rewarding and fulfilling. Remember that true wealth is not just about having the most money, but the most inner peace too. You will truly feel successful, established and wealthy if you start giving to others.

4. Get healthy.

I know it sounds a little corny, but it is actually true: health is wealth. You can have all of the money in the world, but if you are sick, or dead, you can’t enjoy it. As much as you work and as hard as you work, don’t forget to focus on your health, your body and your mental well-being.

5. Learn online.

We live in such an exciting time, where the world centers around the internet. It is a time where you have unprecedented access to a wealth of information. Thanks to the internet you don’t need fancy degrees, connections or inherited wealth. Everything you need to learn is online with video lessons and free guides, as well as vast educational resources like the Entrepreneur Library.  People always ask me where I learned about stock trading. It was all online.

I wish I had a mentor to help speed up my education, but I didn’t. This is why it is my goal to be the mentor to others that I never had. In summation, if you want wealth and success in the year 2017, you need to study and prepare and start with your online education, it is only the beginning of your success, but it will set a strong foundation for your future.

These five steps can go a long way in helping any individual be wealthier in the year 2017. The new year is right NOW , so don’t waste this opportunity to have a more secure financial future for yourself.

1. You are the only real obstacle in your path to a fulfilling life.

2. Creativity is inventing,
experimenting, growing,
taking unknown risks, breaking unwritten rules,
making mistakes, and having fun.

3.  Don't just save up for the rainny day because if you do,
the rainny day will come.

4. We are here on planet to learn and to evolve into better beings.

5.  Treat all disasters as if they were trivialities but never treat a triviality as if it were a disaster.

One is a matter of quality; the other , a matter of time.

8.  Better to do SOMETHING imperfectly than to do NOTHING flawlessly.

9.  Iron rusts from disuse;
stagnant water loses its purity and in cold weather becomes frozen;
even so does inaction sap the vigour of the mind.

10. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation, because you character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are.

11. Many of life's failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.

12. Success is getting what you want; happiness is wanting what you get.

13. There is only one small letter between the words CAN and CAN'T . . . and that one letter will TOTALLY change your destiny.

14. You cannot do a kindness too soon, for you never know how soon it will be too late.

i.Think
ii.things
iii.through,
iv.then
v.follow
vi.through.

24. Unless commitment is made there are only promises and hopes  . . . but no plans.

24.1 A Dream Written Down With A Date Becomes A GOAL!
A GOAL Broken Down Into Steps Becomes A PLAN!
A PLAN Backed By Action Makes Your Dream A REALITY!

25. Self-pity gets you nowhere. One must have the adventurous daring to accept oneself as a bundle of possibilities and undertake the most interesting game in the world - making the  most of one's best.

26. There are two primary choices in life : to accept conditions as they exists, or accept responsibility for changing them.

26.1 Say to your Self daily, three times a day: "I love you, I'm sorry, Please forgive me, Thank you, I really really love you." (smile)

27. Look at a day when you are supremely satisfied at the end. it is not a day when you lounge around doing nothing ; it's when you've had everything to do, and you have done it.

29. More important than talent, strength, or knowledge is the ability to laugh at yourself and enjoy the pursuit of your dreams.

What Did I Learn?

While I have provided the leadership, the Soongworld successes are everybody's achievements. What experiences have I taken with me? We are a GROUP that evolves by the sheer determination and inspirations of our people. We take pride in our People-to-People business worldwide. Every one of you played your role and performed well. Kudos.
From the bottom of my lovely heart , I wish to say it has been a privilege working and sharing with you.

What did I learn? Since 2008? I am sure more things and breakthroughs will occur to me at some point, but here are a few things.

1.  You have to balance the idea that nothing really changes with the notion that everything is changing fast - especially the ever-evolving Internet of everything, the biggest change to hit the global economy.  Remember this : What was right before may not be right moving forwards as circumstances might have changed.

2.  Leading from the front is very important.  In moments of calm , good processes and systems can keep things going but in challenging times, leadership becomes even more critical.  I learn from experience that in times of challenge, my partners expect me to lead with vision, direction and by personal example.

3.  It is better to have tried and fail than not try at all.  Most important is to pick oneself up fast, learn, unlearn, and relearn the lessons and continue to pursue the goal.  Remember that when you make a mistake, don't look back at it for too long. Mistakes are lessons and stepping stones of wisdom, the past cannot be changed and the future is yet in your power. The lessons you gain out of a failure is tremendous but do not repeat them.

4.  Continuous learning is a good way to stay ahead of the competition in commercial business world. As you learn and read more widely and deeply, you will realise how little you know - as the world moves on at a much faster pace than ever before, we are constantly playing catch up. hence, therein lies the importance and significance of life-long learning, unlearning and relearning. Read widely, attend classes, go for enrichment programmes, treasure networking and leverage the strengths of others in your team, friendship and families.

Your short term and long term success depends on you own attitude, your curiosity, your explorations, your willingness and humbleness to work and your personal innovation and your own inspirations. That is what will make or break you, not your degree or MBA, or PhD. Must love to learn new thing everyday.

5.  My basic principle is that "approximately right is good enough." You adjust as you go along. You cannot wait for all information to be available to you before making a decision. In a fast pace environment, you will miss the boat. Just say yes first, and learn along the way, anything new.  So decide well, move on and then adjust as you go along. Don't stick to your guns*.( *to continue to have your own beliefs or continue with a plan of action, even if other people disagree with you)

6.  Many of you heard this saying "I do not insult people with low targets". The key is that people can do better than they think they can, hence, it is important to stretch and believe in them. When you set high but achieve targets, people would have done well even if they do not meet those targets perfectly.

7.  One must have humour in life - in the workplace and at home. Humour is a good stress reliever ; it livens up your spirit ; it livens up your day. Don't take yourself too seriously in life. Don't take humour for granted. It helps to ease tension and is a good ice breaker. "Friendship is like peeing on yourself: everyone can see it, but only you get the warm feeling that it brings." Guess who said it?

8.  Give back to society.  Today you are enjoying the fruits of labour of the previous generations - the schools, the infrastructure, the transport systems, the housing and the safe environment in which you live. All of us must take full responsibility and need to give back to the society that has given us so much. I gave and still giving time as Healthy Wealth blogger. And I am currently the Chairman and CEO of the Soongworld global business. I do these as a service to build up World's educational standards, create self-employment and better opportunities and develop the world's skills. These are just two examples. All of us give back to society in our own ways.

9.  Lastly but certainly not the least, remember that not everything that comes in our life can be counted. Life is not just about your career success. Life is also about the people around you. Success alone cannot bring or give you real happiness. Allow your family and friends to share your success. Give back to them what you can, in terms of time, friendship and care.

Give your best. Do good to people. Don't take yourself too seriously.

I appreciate all readers and friends, and more importantly for your support and friendship.
Thank you,
Love you,

With Peace of I
Soong See Choo

LEARN:

Yes LEARN:

Scrutinise the notion of "learn" beyond the norm of textbooks and classrooms. Whilst stressing discipline and focus.

Be more interested in that elusive quality that keeps people or learners continually purposeful and curious.

It is this irrepressible desire to acquire knowledge and experience first-hand and develop self-direction which learner sees as the fuel that fires the impulse to learn.

Learn the deeper insight of the spirit of learning is more beneficial to one's soul than learning much shallow generalities.

Having been mentored by other learners over the years, a learner has evolved an intuition for learning any discipline.

Dancers and their limbs movements manifest the fluidity, elegance and power of their craft. Their hands and arms seamless entwined to en wrapped - as visual metaphors to expand the idea of mentor ship in learning.

Learner's relationship carries protective overtones but their deep interlocking also suggests support and empowerment.

Learner learns from humbled learners too the lessons of humility which without none can be leaning on honest leadership in scholarship.
