King Jesus,
you are sovereign over all the earth and yet you know me by name. Your word says in Isaiah 55: 8-9. "For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Father, I take comfort in this truth because l do not have to understand everything to trust you.
Your wisdom is perfect. Your timing is flawless. Your perspective is eternal. Forgive me, Lord, for the times when l have questioned your plan. Forgive me for moments when fear or impatience caused me to doubt your goodness. Forgive me for the times I leaned on my own understanding instead of leaning on you.
Wash me clean from the pride that thinks I can manage my life better than you can.
Purify my heart so that my trust is not conditional on seeing results but rooted in who you are.
Lord, your word is filled with reminders that you are the God who restores.
I think of the man tormented by a legion of demons living among the tombs, isolated and beyond human help. But when you stepped into his story, everything changed.
You cast out the darkness, restored his mind, clothed him in peace, and gave him back his dignity.
And also you raised a little girl from death.
Lord, if you can call the dead to rise, then surely you can breathe life into the places in my own life that feel
