Water And Cancer Prevention

Water And Cancer Prevention
Chiu-Nan Lai, Ph.D.

The incidence of cancer has accelerated in the 21st century. Cases of young people contacting cancer are increasing. These are generally malignant cases, so that metastasis has set in by the time cancer is diagnosed. The body's blueprint of health and diseases are influenced by the nine months spent in the womb, as well as environmental factors experienced later on in life. To understand why young people develop cancer, it is necessary to identify whether the fetus in the womb had contact with contaminants, whether there were nutritional deficiencies, and whether the baby consumed its mother's milk within 12 hours of birth. A baby's lifelong immune system, digestive ability, and enzyme formation in the stomach are dependent on the special nutrients and antibodies found in the milk that it first suckles.

A dentist, whose parents died from cancer, conducted intensive research on the causes of cancer. His research spanning thirty years showed that all the cancer patients he examined did not drink their mother's milk within twelve hours of birth. Of course, this finding does not mean that all people who did not drink their mother's milk would get cancer, but it does indicate that the likelihood of contacting cancer is higher. Perhaps, this may be the reason why the incidence of cancer in America is so alarmingly high-only 4% of U.S. mothers breastfeed their children.

This dentist discovered that, among other external environmental factors, lack of water among cell structures is a common feature among cancer patients. If the patient's cells can rehydrate, he/she can easily recover. However, does it mean that drinking more water will enable the body's cells to absorb more water? This is not necessarily the case: if the water is polluted, or if the water inside the body is acidic, the body's cells will automatically block the absorption of such water to prevent the entry of toxins. Such toxins can come from outside the body, or they could be uric acid that the metabolic system cannot discharge from the body. Chronic lack of water can lead to aging and other diseases.

The book "Messages from Water" documents how the crystalline structure of water can change through contamination. Microwave radiation can harm the crystalline structure of water. Water inside the cells is a form of liquid crystal, and changes in its liquid crystalline structure influence the functions exhibited by genes from the cell nucleus, as well as whether cells divide and grow (or stop growing). If the crystalline structure of cells is somehow disturbed, these cells may continue to divide and grow, leading to the development of cancer. Many years ago, I conducted laboratory experiments which showed that when potassium was added to a cancer cell cultures, these cancer cells changed to normal cells. After the potassium enters the cells, the liquid crystalline structure and genetic structure of the cells change and lose their "cancer" characteristic.

The key point to preventing and curing cancer is to recover the cleanliness of water inside the body, and to nourish the body's cells with the necessary minerals. Eating clean food, drinking clean water, and breathing clean air are important aspects. In today's environment, it is also important to avoid sources of radiation (e.g., mobile phones, computers, televisions, and microwave ovens) that disrupts the water's crystalline structure. This may be a coincidence, but the young people I heard who got cancer are also those who frequently use mobile phones or who live with people who do so. One day, we may treat the use of mobile phones the same way we treat cigarette smoking - second hand smoke and second hand radiation are both harmful.

We can also understand the importance of water through a person's energy or qi. Qi belongs to the water element, and lack of water will weaken the body's qi and lead to illnesses (including cancer).

Many years ago, Dr. Yoshitaka Ohno, a Japanese doctor, started to search for a cure to chronic diseases such as cancer, Alzheimer, multiple sclerosis, hypertension, asthma, and diabetes. His research indicated that water is a major causal factor. To verify his theory, he searched for different sources of water. While conducting his research in Japan, he found a rare magnetic mountain with a source of naturally-magnetized water that can effectively treat chronic diseases. A renowned local doctor successfully treated many kinds of modern chronic diseases using this water. In the past, Russia, China, Japan, and the U.S.A. had reports of the healing properties of magnetized water.

Research shows that naturally-magnetized water can accelerate cellular absorption of water, supplement minerals in the body, protect cells, maintain normal blood circulation and PH levels, discharge pollutants in the cellular structure and fluids, as well as control free radical formation. People who have consumed naturally-magnetized water find an increase in bowel movement frequency and that their faeces have unusual smells. It is also possible that the more we drink this water, the thirstier we become. This is because normal water typically cannot be absorbed by the cellular membranes, and the body's cells have been deprived of water for a long time. Discharge of mercury is also accelerated six hours after amalgam in the teeth has been removed. People with chronic diseases generally see positive effects of drinking this water within two to four weeks. Magnetized water is also helpful in protecting friendly bacteria in the body, discharging harmful bacteria and toxins from the body, and preventing infection. This water is called Nariwa.
Over 70% of our body is made of water. In this polluted environment, water that can help our cells begin to absorb the water they need is indeed a treasure, regardless of whether the water comes from organic vegetables or magnetized water.

In preventing and treating cancer and modern chronic diseases, it is important to consider the effect of the environment. Water is one such important factor. Of course, to fully recover our health and happiness, it is important to be with nature as much as possible, and learn how to discharge negative emotions. Finally, it is necessary to develop and cultivate our spirituality.

Lessons from the Miracle Doctors Chapter 12 Your Mouth Is Killing You

Lessons from the Miracle Doctors

Chapter 12

Your Mouth Is Killing You

      Aluminum Cookware

It has been known for some 20 years that aluminum, once it enters our bodies, has the tendency to accumulate in our brains, where it kills off neurons—leading to memory loss. And thanks to the significant amounts of aluminum found in food emulsifiers, antiperspirant deodorants, hair sprays, baking powder, many toothpastes, much of our drinking water, and most of our cookware, we are exposed to quite a lot of aluminum over the course of our lives. There has been much speculation, therefore, that aluminum may be one of the prime factors in the onset of Alzheimer's disease. The connection between aluminum and Alzheimer's disease became even stronger, when in 1995, Neurotoxicology reported that the widespread use of aluminum salts to purify
water could account for the large numbers of people suffering from Alzheimer's.

And now, the final piece of the puzzle may have just fallen into place: the connection between aluminum and fluoride.

     Gifts from Your Dentist

Dentists have accomplished many great things in this country in terms of promoting oral health, but on three key issues, they stand on the wrong side of history and health.

1. Fluoride
2. Mercury fillings
3. Root canals

     Fluoride
In Chapter 11, Dying of Thirst, I discussed in some detail the evidence that fluoride is a dangerous toxic substance that has no business being added to our drinking water. But it is worth repeating here that new research has revealed that fluoride in drinking water makes the aluminum that we ingest more bioavailable. In the presence of fluoride, more aluminum crosses the bloodbrain barrier and is deposited in the brain. As was reported in Brain Research, Vol.7 84:98, the bottom line is that the combination of aluminum and fluoride causes the same pathological changes in brain tissue that are found in Alzheimer's patients.

     Mercury fillings

The American Dental Association has resolutely maintained for years that "when mercury iscombined with the metals used in dental amalgam, it's toxic properties are made harmless."
If this were true, it would be miraculously fortuitous.

Amalgam, which consists of mercury, silver, tin, copper, and a trace amount of zinc, has been used by dentists for well over several hundred years—as far back, actually,
as the 7th century in China.  Here in the United States, mercury-based fillings made their appearance in the early 1800s.

From the beginning, there were a number of dentists who were concerned by the presence of mercury, since by that time it was fairly well known that mercury was poisonous. In fact, these
concerns were so strong, that by the mid-1940s, several dental societies, including the American Society of Dental Surgeons, had joined together to stop the use of amalgam fillings.
But amalgam was just too easy to work with, and whatever ill effects people experienced were too far down the road to matter, and so, in 1859, the American Dental Association was founded—primarily to promote the use of mercury amalgam as a safe and desirable tooth filling material. There were no tests done. No studies. Nothing. Amalgam was promoted because it was easy to work with. The reason the mercury was used in it was because mercury serves to "dissolve" the other metals and make an homogenous whole.

It would be miraculous indeed if you could use one of the most toxic substances known to man with no ill effect. How was it defended? Well, the early position was that the mercury reacts
with the other metals to form "a biologically inactive substance" so that none of it ever makes its way into your body. That too would have been miraculous indeed if that were true—but, of course, it is not. Numerous studies conducted in the 1970s and 80s have proven conclusively that the mercury from fillings (primarily from mercury vapor created when we chew) makes its way into the body, ending up in our lungs, heart, stomach, kidneys[1], endocrine glands, gastrointestinal tract, jaw tissue, and our brains.[2]

[1 Studies have shown that within 30 days of receiving amalgam fillings, kidney function is reduced some 50%.]

[2 In effect, the denser the tissue, the greater the concentration of mercury.]

Once it became irrefutable that mercury from the fillings was ending up in our bodies,[1] it then became mandatory that the ADA find a new defense. Again, not based on study, but rather on
convenience, it became the position of the ADA that: Well yes, maybe some mercury does make its way into the body, but at levels that are so low it has no effect on our health. And once again,
it would be miraculous indeed if that were true. Unfortunately, it is not. Like so many other toxic
substances, the real problem with mercury is that it is a cumulative poison. The body holds onto a
significant percentage of the mercury that enters it.

Mercury is one of the most toxic metals known—more toxic even than lead. And while there
is no conclusive evidence that the mercury from fillings causes any particular health problems,
there are, on the other hand, a number of studies that "imply" such a relationship. First of all, there
is strong evidence that mercury lowers T-Cell counts.[2]

This, alone, implicates amalgam fillings in cancer,[3]autoimmune diseases, allergies, candida overgrowth, and multiple sclerosis.[4]

It has also been shown that mercury interferes with the ability of the blood to carry oxygen—actually cutting its oxygen carrying capabilities by half. This would account for many instances of chronic fatigue. Mercury also has an affinity for our brains and is implicated in brain tumors and dementia.[5] And, finally, mercury has an affinity for fetal tissue—reaching higher levels in the fetus than in the mother herself—which accounts for mercury's implication in birth defects.

What about other sources of mercury entering the body? Well, seafood is of course a source.
And some of the foods we eat are too. But, when all is said and done, the amount of mercury entering our bodies from amalgam fillings represents anywhere from 50-90% of the total amount.6

So why in the world does the ADA continue to support the use of amalgam fillings? One simple
answer is: if you're in for an inch, you're in for a mile. What would the legal ramifications be if
the ADA suddenly announced that they, and all the dentists connected with them, had been wrong
for well over 100 years and had been slowly poisoning all Americans? Can you spell tobacco?

   Root canals

If a tooth's pulp, which contains nerves and blood vessels becomes infected or damaged because
of decay or injury, your options are often limited. Effectively, your dentist will offer you two options. You can either have the tooth pulled or the nerve removed—better known as a "root
canal treatment." A root canal consists of removing the infected or diseased pulp from the tooth and sterilizing and refilling the canals with ...

[1 There have been something over 12,000 papers published to date elucidating the dangers of amalgam fillings, but the most compelling detailed the use of radioactively tagged amalgam fillings in a controlled experiment. In less than 30 days, substantial levels of the tagged mercury was found throughout the body and brain and especially in the liver and kidneys.]

[2 A number of studies have shown removing amalgam fillings can cause T-Cell counts to rise anywhere from 50-300%.]

[3 In fact, there have been several studies that have shown that white blood-cell abnormalities, such as found in leukemia, tend to normal out when amalgam fillings are removed.]

[4 Mercury levels in MS patients is, on average, 7.5 times higher than normal.]

[5 The famous mad hatters of England were the hat makers who worked with mercury and eventually went mad.]

[6 Every single amalgam filling in your mouth pumps, on average, some 3,000,000,000,000,000 mercury atoms into your body each and every day.]

... a sealer[1] to prevent recontamination of the root canal system.

In order to understand the problem, you need to first understand that a tooth is not a solid inanimate structure. Each single tooth is a living structure sustained by some 3 miles of microscopic
tubules running through the solid dentin. In a healthy tooth, those tubules, which make up a full 90% of the actual tooth, can be thought of as the tooth's "arteries and veins."

Once a tooth has had it's root filled, it no longer has any nourishment circulating through it's
tubules, but the tubules themselves remain—unfilled. And therein lies the problem. It is physically impossible to fully sterilize the miles of microscopic tubules in a tooth. Some bacteria survive [2] and thrive in these empty tubules. And once sealed in your tooth, no part of your immune system can reach those bacteria and destroy them, because you have sealed off the root of the tooth stopping all blood supply to the tooth's interior. And for the same reason, no antibiotics that you might take can reach the bacteria. Nevertheless, because the tooth itself is porous, those bacteria, and/or their toxins, can migrate out into surrounding tissue where they can "hitch hike" to other locations in the body via the bloodstream. The new location can be any organ or gland or tissue, and the new colony will be the next focus of infection in a body plagued by recurrent or chronic infections.

Understand, every single root canal leaks—without exception. Bacteria and/or toxins leach out from every root canal-treated tooth. Every single person who has had a root canal has
had their immune system compromised by having to fight a continual low-grade infection that it can never fully eliminate, because it can never reach the source of that infection in the tooth itself. About 25% of all people seem to have immune systems that are strong enough to resist the continual infection coming from the tooth, thereby preventing it from taking hold anywhere else in the body for many years. But as for the other 75%...they can look forward to a whole range of chronic and debilitating diseases, including:

>Arthritis

>Heart disease

>Chronic infection

>Chronic fatigue

>Eye problems

>etc.

The bottom line is that root canals, at this point in time, are to be avoided. Also, for what it's worth, with better dental care and by following the dietary principles outlined in this book, you should never have to face the need for a root canal. Incidentally, if you already have a root canal and need to have it removed, it is not enough to simply have it pulled. It is almost a surety that the bacteria have migrated to the bone and tissues adjacent to the tooth's root. You will need to find a ...

[1 The traditional sealer of choice in this country has been gutta percha, although new options are becoming available that overcome the major problem associated with gutta percha (microscopic shrinkage as it dries, leaving
empty space in the root, which bacteria love to fill). Nevertheless, the one problem that no sealer can overcome is that no filling can reach into the miles of tubules in the tooth.]

[2 Including strains of streptococcus, staphylococcus and spirochetes. ]

...dentist experienced in the procedure for removing a root canal tooth, which includes removing the periodontal ligament (which is always infected with toxins produced by streptococcus bacteria living in the dentin tubules) and the first millimeter of bone that lines the socket (which is also usually infected).

    General Recommendations

>Aluminum. Make sure it's not in the water you drink, and you might want to think twice about the antiperspirant you use. And finally, you might want to think about stainless steel cookware. It's okay to use cookware that has an aluminum core, as long as the food never touches the aluminum itself.

> Fluoride. If there's any way to keep it out of your city water supply, fight to do that. If it's already there, you have to make sure you remove it at your house so that it doesn't make it into your drinking water, bath, or shower. Also, you'll probably want to avoid fluoride toothpastes, and you'll definitely want to avoid fluoride "treatments" from your dentist.

>Mercury fillings. Unless you have some chronic health condition, you may not want to go through the expense of having your fillings replaced.[1] However, you would be well advised to go on some of the cleansing program we have described earlier—particularly the colon cleanse and some form of blood cleansing, such as chelation therapy(or the use of cilantro pesto and malic acid). And if you need any new fillings, don't.

> Root canals. Don't. And if you have one, you may want to consider having it pulled.

[1 And if you are going to have your fillings removed, go to a dentist who specializes in the removal of amalgam fillings. There's a whole procedure involved so that you don't end up getting huge amounts of powdered mercury down your throat and clouds of mercury vapor up into your nasal passages as a result of the high-speed drill used to remove the amalgam.]

AFA Blue-Green Algae Benefits

Benefits
Aphanizomenon flos-aquae (AFA) blue-green algae are made primarily of soft proteins and polysaccharides that are easily digested by our intestinal bacteria that is turn then feed our blood and cells. This "softness" makes AFA one of the most digestible and utilizable protein foods in all of nature.
This "soft" characteristic is unusual for plant cells, but is common for animal cells ; this is a reason why blue-green algae are often considered 25 percent animal.

AFA is loaded with chlorophyll (1-2 percent of its dry weight) , Chlorophyll helps build our blood due to the presence of the pyrol ring in chlorophyll, which is identical to the pyrol ring found in hemoglobin. Chlorophyll helps fight leukemia as well as certain forms of skin and liver cancer. Additionally, chlorophyll helps to deodorize the bowels.

AFA contains an extraordinarily concentration of the blue-pigment phycocyanin (15 percent) which helps preload the immune system by stimulating the production of more stem cells from the bone marrow. Stem cells are the basic form of all cells and can be transformed into any cell ( including T-cells, NK cells, macrophages, and other immune system cell artillery ).

AFA is know to contain an exceptional forty (40) major and tarce minerals, picked up from the constant stirring of nearly thrity feet of mineral sediment at the bottom of Klamath Lake. Minerals are the atomic matrix of our bodies and are necessary to build every tissue including our bones, teeth, skin, hair, nails, internal organs, muscular system, immune system, and nervous system.

Generally, the more domestically our food is , the more mineral deficient it becomes. Weston Price's work in Nutrition and Physical Degeneration demonstrated that the more one adopts a "civilized" diet, the more quickly mineral deficiency symptoms appear.
Mineral deficiencies have been associated with every degenerative and chronic condition known to humankind. The key solution to mineral deficiencies appears to be including wilf foods in our daily diet. AFA is a wild food.

AFA is an excellent source of B vitamins including appreciable amounts of vitamins B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, B9 and B12. In general, B vitamins fight stress by helping to more efficiently convert polysaccharides and other carbohydrates into glucose for immediately available energy , endurance, and stamina.

The vitamins B12 found in AFA may or may not be usable by the human body. Dr. Gabriel Cousen's clinical research indicates that the vitamin B12  in AFA does not increase serum B12 levels in human blood, indicating that the B12 in AFA is unavailable. AFA is also an important source of vitamin C.

AFA contains omega-3 fatty acids, including the long-chain omega-3 fatty acid known as docosahexanoic acid (DHA) .
AFA also contain the phospholipid choline. This makes AFA a brain and nervous system supporting food.

Protein
AFA algae is a complete protein source containing approximately 60 percent protein. Eighteen (18) amino acids ( protein building blocks) are present in AFA algae. The protein and amino acids in AFA is in highly assimilable glycoprotein and amino acid peptide forms instead of the lipoprotein form found in animal products such as beef and chicken (which areusually cooked into even more difficult-to-digest forms of protein).  Therefore, it takes less energy to digest and utilize algae protein. Additionally, neurotransmitters for brain health can be produced from AFA protein more easily and swiftly due to its ease of digestibility.

Protein is used to construct, maintain, and repair every tissue in our bodies from our bones, teeth, muscles, nerves, glands, heart, blood, liver, skin, hair, and everything in between.
A lack of protein is mostly associated with muscular weakness , slow healing, and brain chemistry imbalances.
An excess of animal protein is associated with heart disease, kidney disease, cancer , and colon cancer.
It is becoming more and more clear that plant-based , complete protein sources are of critical importance for the future -- this is exactly what superfoods provide and this is exactly what AFA algae provides.

Some of the free amino acid peptides found in AFA may be responsible for helping to detoxify our bodies of heavy metals. Dr.Gillian McKeith reports in her booklet Miracle Superfood : Wild Blue-Green Algae  that in her clinical experience AFA algae has been effective in chelating (removing) dangerous toxic heavy metals such as cadmium , lead, and mercury. She recommends consuming 0.21 to 0.35 ounces ( 6 to 10 grams) of AFA blue-green algae daily for severe cases of heavy-metal toxicity.

Heed this warning: Mercury

FDA's Warnings About Mercury

This week, the FDA released a consumer update titled, “Mercury Poisoning Linked to Skin Products.” The article stated, “Federal health officials are warning consumers not to use skin creams, beauty and antiseptic soaps, or lotions that might contain mercury. The products are manufactured abroad and sold in the U.S. illegally. If you have a product that matches these descriptions, stop using it immediately.”

Dr. Charles Lee, a senior advisor to FDA stated, “Exposure to mercury can have serious health consequences. {Mercury} can damage the kidneys and the nervous system and interfere with the development of the brain in unborn children and very young children.”

The article points out that if a product contains mercurous chloride, calomel, mercuric, mercurio, or mercury it is wise to stop using the product.

Now, I have nothing bad to say about this update. Mercury should be avoided at all costs as it is the second most toxic item known to mankind.
What irritates me about the FDA’s update is there was no mention about the danger of mercury fillings. Mercury fillings, the dark material that dentists use to fill cavities, contain 50% mercury by weight. The American Dental Association (ADA) has stated that mercury fillings are perfectly safe. The ADA is very wrong. Mercury fillings are poisonous and should never be placed in any living being’s mouth.

If the FDA was looking out for us, they would ban the use of mercury fillings. There should be a class-action lawsuit against the ADA for its defense of mercury fillings. I have treated many patients for mercury toxicity. It is the most common toxicity that I see.

What can you do? Avoid all sources of mercury. This includes refusing mercury fillings and vaccines preserved with mercury (such as the flu vaccine). Also, it is wise to limit your intake of fish as all fish is contaminated with mercury. It is best to avoid high mercury-containing fish such as white tuna and swordfish. To help the body excrete mercury it is important to take vitamin C (3-5,000mg/day) and alpha lipoic acid (300mg twice per day).Source: http://drdavidbrownstein.blogspot.com/

How Safe is Your Child from Mercury in Vaccines?

Recently while doing research in another area, I came across information that struck me as something one would never have imagined someone keeping statistics about: Mercury amounts released into the atmosphere during cremation of dead bodies—cadavers.
Statistics have been generated for several years now and the findings are remarkable, to say the least and should be important enough to stop the use of ‘medical’ mercury in dental fillings (amalgam fillings) and vaccines, which contain mercury in the form of Thimerosal. Another mercury source probably is from pacemaker batteries. There’s even been talk, as I understand, of having filled teeth removed from dead bodies before cremation, as the amount of mercury going out the crematorium stack is mounting.
Since mercury is now becoming a serious environmental hazard—so why the CFL light bulbs that contain mercury—especially in food grown in California due to mercury used in the 1840s gold rush mining days leaching into water supplies now used in agriculture, environmentalists are taking serious note of mercury pollution sources.
Interestingly, a draft fact sheet produced by the Swedish Environmental Protection Agency stated that an average emission of 5 grams of mercury is assumed. Furthermore, that same draft indicated that cremations account for “just under 32% of mercury emissions to the atmosphere.
In February 2001, a British newspaper article reported that an average of 2.95 grams of mercury per cremation was emitted into the atmosphere. In Norway a researcher reported that an estimated 2 to 4 grams of mercury per cremation were emitted into the atmosphere. Those figures are based upon adult body cremations.
A statistic was generated that one would not have thought meaningful, i.e., Mercury in Crematoria Workers as per The Lancet, 1998. The measurement was taken from mercury found in hair in parts per million. That type of tissue testing/sampling has been around for years—the U.S. Army used it—and it’s known as a spectrographic hair analysis. See this link for more information about that http://pubs.acs.org/doi/abs/10.1021/ac60281a040.
Now, if the mercury hair test results information was accepted and published in The Lancet, why not start taking hair sample studies of infants, toddlers, and teens who have neurological health anomalies such as autism spectrum disorder, ADD, ADHD, narcolepsy, epilepsy, and learning disabilities to find the heavy metals that are hanging up on enzyme systems and pathways that are causing damage, which a detox program could relieve? Doesn’t that make sense, since no one seems to be getting to the bottom of why our kids are getting neurologically impaired by the droves—how about pandemic, and which seems to coincide with the more vaccines they get, the more neurological problems occur.
Heavy metals and neurotoxins like aluminum and mercury store in soft body tissue in kiddies similar to the way lead stores in bones in adults. However, both aluminum and mercury store in soft body tissue and bones in growing children. Hair would be the most logical body tissue to sample since it grows about one-quarter to half an inch a month; is not traumatic to obtain; and is a reliable tissue sample comparable to blood, urine, fecal matter, etc., since the body naturally grows it.
That would be a most logical starting point to finding out what’s most likely storing in kids’ brains and bodies that is making them neurologically disabled. It’s not rocket science but it is ‘damning’ because it does tell what heavy metals are stored in the hair.
From where I come in my studies and research—by the way I wrote the book Understanding Body Chemistry and Hair Mineral Analysis in the early 1980s, so I think I know something about what I speak, assaying neurologically-compromised children’s hair for heavy metals could be the defining factor of what’s making them sick. It could be that simple, if the feds get out of the way and let researchers and medical doctors who know what to do, do the work.
Now here’s what I’m thinking from an analytical and scientific standpoint: What would be the amount of mercury and/or aluminum in an infant, toddler, and teenager—especially those who had no silver fillings in their teeth. My contention is that not only should mercury be measured but aluminum since both neurotoxic metals are injected into children in vaccines/vaccinations at very vulnerable ages, i.e., 2, 4, 6 months and onward for a total of 68 up to college age.
Personally and from a scientific mindset, I would like to see this kind of assay work done as part of the investigation into why so many young children in the USA and globally now are seriously impaired neurologically. I think it’s time to bite the bullet on the real science of why kids are so sick, and it’s as easy as this to start the process when accurate assays, record keeping, and statistical data reporting are not impeded by those who have special axes to grind or financial interests to preserve.
In my opinion, instead of mandating more vaccines/vaccinations, health agencies should be mandating and implementing hair testing of every child should begin as soon as enough hair can be taken for a viable spectrographic analysis. Hair tells what the body has stored in tissue, and can be the clue science is looking for.

Dental Issues : MERCURY FILLINGS (amalgams)

Story at-a-glance

  • There is irrefutable evidence that mercury fillings (amalgams) pose a serious health risk to humans, especially children and pregnant women, yet they are still used by half of all American dentists
  • Great progress has been made in 2011 on the mercury amalgam issue as a result of widely publicized town meetings in three states: Texas, Florida and California
  • According to Dr. Jeffrey Shuren, the FDA will make an announcement by the end of the year about revising their stance on mercury amalgams, possibly including a ban for certain high-risk populations
  • In order to keep the momentum going, please contact Dr. Jeffrey Shuren and voice your concerns immediately, using the talking points included.
  • By Dr. Mercola
A great deal of progress has been made this year toward ridding the dental industry of dangerous mercury-containing amalgams.
For example, Consumers for Dental Choice recently reported that:
"On October 10, the City Council of Malibu, California passed a resolution supporting "national and worldwide efforts to reduce anthropogenic [man-made] sources of mercury to the environment."
Specifically, the city endorsed "efforts by UNEP [the United Nations Environmental Programme] to adopt an international treaty to phase out each of the above five major mercury pollutants":  batteries, electric switches and relays, measuring devices, mercury-containing lamps…and dental amalgam.
Malibu is the third California city to call for the phase-out of dental amalgam, following the resolution of the city council of Costa Mesa and the proclamation by the Mayor of Santa Ana."
According to Consumers for Dental Choice, the World Health Organization ("WHO") also just released its long-awaited updated and finalized report on dental amalgam.  In Future Use of Materials for Dental Restoration, WHO urges "a switch in use of dental materials" away from amalgam, stating that:
"[F]or many reasons, restorative materials alternative to dental amalgam are desirable."
    But that's not all!
As a result of enormous public pressure from dentists, health professionals and consumers, the FDA has also promised to make an announcement by year's end of its decision about whether or not to warn the public of the dangers of dental amalgam, and possibly even restrict its use.
A series of town meetings in three states this year, hosted by the FDA's Center for Devices, has resulted in the FDA's reconsideration of its appalling 2009 amalgam rule.
Thanks to Consumers for Dental Choice, town meetings previously attended mostly by industry representatives pleading with the FDA to "go easier on them" are now instead being dominated by consumer advocates demanding government accountability. Their greatest hope is to see mercury amalgams banned altogether, but short of that, the Consumers for Dental Choice hopes the FDA will at least make all consumers aware that amalgams are more than 50 percent mercury. The American Dental Association (ADA) has historically covered up that fact, while taking money from Coca-Cola and other companies whose products promote the formation of cavities.
Fifty percent of dentists are now mercury-free; you can help abolish the use of mercury fillings by supporting one of them. We are on the brink of prompting real change in the fight for mercury-free dentistry, but your voice is needed in order to bring about permanent change.

First Base: Dallas, Texas on March 10

The first of the town meetings occurred in a suburb of Dallas, Texas, in March 2011. According to Charlie Brown (former attorney general and president of the World Alliance for Mercury Free Dentistry), the Texas town meeting generated a surge of long-overdue press coverage about dental amalgam on major Dallas television stations and newspapers.
Dr. Jeffrey Shuren, the presiding FDA official in the dental amalgam issue, was presented with testimony from, among others, Dr. Bill Glaros, the former president of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine. In response, Dr. Shuren acknowledged the FDA scientific panel's conclusion that certain populations, such as pregnant women and young children, might be "more sensitive" than others to the adverse effects of dental amalgam. The following statement certainly indicates the door is open, but whether or not the FDA will actually walk through it remains to be seen Dr. Shuren stated:
"We may decide to change our current regulation, and that could include changing the status of dental amalgam, which means it comes off the market or has other controls on it, or we may decide to leave things as they are."

Second Base: Orlando, Florida on May 5

Floridians continued the momentum by turning out en masse for the next town meeting, outraged over the FDA's failure to protect children from mercury fillings. The event generated front-page news from coast to coast, even prompting an article from the Los Angeles Times.
As in Texas, with the press in his face, Dr. Shuren was compelled to answer to the FDA's inaction on amalgam. After all, it is far easier to evade questions about the health hazards of amalgams when behind the protective walls of a government office than it is in front of television cameras. Dr. Shuren told the Orlando Sentinel that he would like the FDA to make a decision this year, but it (FDA) would have to reconsider the scientific and legal issues.
It was hardly the promise of regulatory overhaul, but it was more than the FDA had been willing to say in Washington. Consumers two… amalgams one. But consumers would soon advance their cause even further as dentists turned up in droves for the third town meeting, this time in San Francisco.

Third Base: San Francisco, California on September 22

The highlight of the California meeting was testimony by Anita Vasquez Tibau, grassroots director of Consumers for Dental Choice, who detailed amalgam's devastating impact on the Spanish-speaking community. Vasquez Tibau assailed Shuren with his own words. In an exchange with the European Union regarding device regulation last February, Shuren sparked an international scrap when he commented that European patients may be "guinea pigs" for medical devices due to inadequate government oversight, and added, "We don't use our people as guinea pigs in the U.S."
Oops… except, we do—a point that Anita Vasquez Tibau was quick to bring up.
While holding up a photograph of a Latino kindergartner whose smile showed the tragedy of a mouthful of mercury fillings, Vazquez Tibau reminded Shuren that the FDA itself admits amalgam can cause neurological damage in young children as their immature systems are more sensitive to the neurotoxic effects of mercury vapor. She also reminded him of the FDA's statement about the lack of evidence of amalgam's safety for children under age six, and then asked him to stop treating Latino children like "guinea pigs." Dr. Shuren responded that he intended to make an announcement of the FDA's position by the end of the year. So the clock is ticking.

    Now it's Your Turn

We need to keep the momentum going between now and year's end. You must urge the FDA to heed the advice convened by its own scientists in December 2010. To voice your opinion, contact Dr. Shuren at:

The following are Charlie Brown's recommended talking points for this contact:
    • Thank Dr. Shuren for agreeing to act on amalgam fillings this year.
    • Please end the use of amalgam immediately for children, pregnant women, and hypersensitive adults (as a minimum).
    • Please make sure every parent knows amalgam is mercury, not silver, by making warnings mandatory. Every consumer should be told the truth about what's going into their mouths, and their children's mouths.
    • Kicking the can down the road is not acceptable. It is time for a decision now, NOT an announcement that the FDA's decision will be postponed. We have irrefutable scientific evidence about the dangers of mercury amalgams. Your children are being subjected to harm now—they can't wait another year.
I also urge you to contribute to Consumers for Dental Choice. I strongly believe in their mission and their commitment to the Campaign for Mercury-Free Dentistry. They rely on public donations to complete this important mission. (Consumers for Dental Choice is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to advocating mercury-free dentistry.
