Some of the most dangerous moments in
your spiritual life do not feel
dangerous at all.
They often arrive in seasons of success,
recognition, and progress when you feel
strong, capable, and stable.
On the outside, everything looks
blessed. On the inside, if you are not
careful, your heart can quietly begin to
drift.

Some of the most dangerous moments in your spiritual life do not feel dangerous at all.
They often arrive in seasons of success, recognition, and progress when you feel strong, capable, and stable.
On the outside, everything looks blessed.
On the inside, if you are not careful, your heart can quietly begin to drift.
The Bible gives a clear warning about this in 1 Corinthians 10:12.
So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall.
God is not against blessing you.
He is not against your growth, your progress or your promotion.
But he is deeply concerned with the posture of your heart in the middle of it.
The moment you begin to think, I am strong. I have made it. I have done this by my own ability.
You step into a dangerous place
spiritually.
Pride does not always shout.
Sometimes it shows up in thoughts like I
do not need as much prayer now or l am
not like those weak believers or I can
handle this on my own.
Jesus spoke clearly about your
dependence on him.
In John 15:5 he says,"l am the vine.
You are the branches.
Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it
is that bears much fruit.
For apart from me,
you
can do nothing. "
Notice that
apart from him, you can do nothing.
Not a little, not some things, but
nothing.
When you reach a place where you are
impressed with your own achievements,
your own strength, your own discipline,
you can slowly forget that every breath,
every gift, every open door is from God.
That is why success can become a test.
It is not wrong to be at the top, but it
is dangerous to be at the top without humility.
When you are in a high moment in life,
your guard can drop easily.
Your heart feels full, your emotions are lifted
and you want to celebrate.
There is nothing wrong with thanking God
and enjoying what he has done.
The risk comes when celebration turns
into carelessness.
You may pray less, watch less, and
examine your heart less carefully.
In those moments, the enemy does not
attack with a loud announcement.
He looks for distraction, for
overconfidence,
for a heart that has started to relax
spiritually.
The Bible tells you plainly in First
Peter 5:8,
"Be sober minded, be watchful.
Your adversary, the devil, prowls around
like a roaring lion, seeking someone to
devour.
He is an opportunist.
He looks for open doors, for moments
when you are not paying attention, when
you are more focused on your own success
than on God's presence.
That is why your highest moments can
often be your most vulnerable ones.
