After more than a decade in the United States, nuclear physicist Liu Chang, whose research has been crucial in the journey to achieve fusion energy, has left Princeton University for a position at Peking University in Beijing.
Last month, Liu joined the Institute of Heavy Ion Physics at Peking University's School of Physics as an assistant professor, according to a post on his new department's social media account.
Liu Chang received a bachelor's degree from the School of Physics at Peking University in July 2011, and a doctorate in plasma physics from the Department of Astrophysics at Princeton University in February 2017. From March 2017 to January 2025, he conducted research at the Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory, and joined the School of Physics at Peking University in February 2025.
Liu's research has centred mainly on plasma physics and nuclear fusion. In particular, he has focused on solving problems related to the physics of runaway electrons – a kind of energy leakage – and other energetic particles in magnetic confinement fusion devices.

Perhaps Mr Liu would be an ideal ambassador not for China, nor for the US but for SCIENCE. Since he has had a foot in both camps, he could bring his knowledge together from both countries, share it with others to enable mankind to benefit.

We are similar ethnicity people living together in this world and should be helping each other. How are you thinking in such manner to not help and share knowledge. Also, it is thankful that others like each other including the culture. That selfishness and racism in the way you and others think, is the problem in this world, which originates from the one different ethnicity of the negros and their accumulated over populated dominant negro traits features mix people that are the racists, capitalist, defilers and crimes against humanity. This lifestyle and system is not normal including the integration of the negros which they still force inter ethnicity relationships sexual with births of their mix children defilements that is in truth, not wanted. It is such stubbornness of the negros and their controlled possessed dominant traits features mix people of some of the two light similar ethnicity people, that they should not control when they are the different and dark ethnicity causing dangers and hostaging as per the many problems of these in history and still! They are not only different in ethnicity but their violent, abusive, savage, cruel beyond belief/normal and intrusive with no respect for people, especially of the light two similar ethnicity people that are not their people and not their/our family when it was forced.
