Nurses Day

is celebrated on 1st August 2008,in Singapore . We like to take this rare opportunity to thanks all nurses (if you are one of them) for your care and sincere heart-felt presence in the health care places around the island and the world.

A big "THANK YOU NURSES!" We remember you. Let's drink fresh water to three toasts for better health, better care and better home. THANKS!!!

The trained nurse has become one of the great blessings of humanity, taking a place beside the doctors and the priests, and not inferior either in her/his mission.

Yes, nurses, go ahead
share this and print out and pin it up on all the wards at your station of duty. Take a bow , you deserve more encores !

A good nurse is of more importance than a physician/doctor, anytime, any place, any situation.

KUDOS TO ALL OUR NURSES

(MY SAY, PAGE A19,IN MY PAPER, THURSDAY JULY 31,2008)

IN SINGAPORE'S quest to be a regional medical hub, we often overlook the contribution of a vital part of the health-care industry - nurses.

As we celebrate Nurse's Day tomorrow (1st August), I would like to thank our men and women nurses working in our hospitals and clinics.

They toil day and night - often missing meals - and they have to tolerate abuse from patients and their relatives, as well as (I am ashamed to say this) their doctor colleagues sometimes.

No matter which country you come from, we thank you for looking after our loved ones.

I am proud to say that all of you, including my mother, who is a retired nurse, are worthy successors of Florence Nightingale. Happy Nurses' Day!
